I have NOT seen an Aptera in my local here in SE Looziana but I have seen an Archimoto and a Cyber. ALSO, have seen a good number of Teslas, one or two Volts, and one Mach E. Can't tell if I saw any Leafs or Bolts and some of the others 'cause they blend in with the other HO-Hum cars.

He says production intent, but later Aptera decided to change the motors from being in the wheels to on traditional motor. Not sure how close they are today. I hope they make it.

Hey, how is the 100 mile upgrade going?

My 2014 Chevy volt gets 60-65km per charge and close to 600km on my 20L gas tank So, overall I get around 650km of travel on fully charged and gassed volt ( roughly 400 miles combined) My charge used to go as high as 72 km but now it’s only around 62 on a warm night of charging. In winter it is between 35-40 km on full charge. Winter here is no worse than -5 c (approx 20 f) So ten years later it is still a viable hybrid and my maintenance is ridiculously low. 169,000 km on car now. (105,000 m) P.S. the on board computer learns as you drive it and accustoms to your style: I use sport all the time and it is quick to kick in, and quick to accelerate on highway)

Love my 2014 volt, about to hit 130k and modified it with the 2016 elr tune (makes 94 more horsepower). Incredibly reliable and such a good vehicle.

There are so many flaws by just looking at it, first, make the whole body solar, not just a few tiles, whole body with no waste of space, so if at beach, open both doors for maximum sun power. Secondly, you would want the main brightness of headlights come from the fenders, so from a long distance, the opposite direction drivers see the white bright headlights on the fenders, in addition to the currently designed headlights as fog lights. Thirdly, make repairs possible by having dealerships in every major city, with fully functional parts and service departments, not just sales dept What if the front wheel hits a pothole? What’s the cost of the wheel assembly? Thousands and thousands…… if available

It's not as sexy as solar charging, but the extreme efficiency of this car also means you can get so much more out of public level 1/2 chargers. Imagine stopping for lunch for an hour and adding 60 miles of range for free. Or add more than 100 miles overnight off a regular household outlet. Combined with solar, that means you can go almost anywhere and pay almost nothing to charge.

I have a 2012, a 2013, 2 2017s and a 2019. marvels of engineering. The closest thing (currently available) to a Volt is the Prius Prime, the same 30ish E-miles as a Gen1.... 12 years later.

It's not true that the gas engine never drives the wheels. There's a planetary gear system to engage the engine to the wheels when the battery is depleted and you're doing 70mph or over. The extra complexity was deemed worth it for significant fuel efficiency gains under that specific circumstance. If you camp in it, there's a popular easy mod to add a 110v socket and inverter under the trunk floor, up to 1500w. The Volt has a lot of spare power to give without draining the starter battery, so long as the car stays on. You can see that on my channel, it's tremendously useful for doing energy intensive tasks outdoors like running a bucket heater for a camping shower, induction cooktops, basically no limits

Someone crashed my car and instead of tinkering and painting, I decided to buy another one with the same problem with the hybrid battery. I'll put mine's battery inside it. In the video I will show the error codes that the battery in poor condition presents, also the test of each cell and the comparison with the battery that is in good condition. Good design about the airbag in Aptera. We all hate those airbags desings for regular cars, they are so difficult to diagnostic and replace.

25:06 Reminder that that prototype is limited to HALF the power of the production version and no power brakes. The production version will of course have traction control and ABS. If ROBERT from Aging Wheels thinks a 3 wheel car is stable, it is, just look at how he drives.

I still own my 2012 Volt which I purchased in Nov. 2011. I still get 33 miles in winter and 38 miles in summer. When new, I would get over 50 miles range at least 4 or 5 times in summer. I own an electric but I don't think I will ever get rid of this Volt. 33 gals. of gas in the last 18,800 miles.
