Plain Tomato Sauce
Переглядів 6421 день тому
We've made gallons of plain tomato sauce this year, and this will be one of the last batches, I think. Pretty small in comparison to the bigger ones. This serves as a base for my pasta sauces, my chili, and more. Not a "how-to".. just a "how *I* do". #brooksidefarm #BrooksideFarmBarreMA #farming

In this video I get into the hardware side of adding liquid ballast to tires, including my shop-made pumping equipment and tire filling adapter. I'll get into more details about the actual liquid in the next video.

If you have to load a trailer on a hill its better to have the vehicle facing up hill.
You have two choices. Drive all the way on or drive off as quickly as possible. You need weight back on the tongue so the trucks rear wheels can gain traction. Then it will stop. You lifted the rear of your vehicle.
@@petepettit3098 That is true, but driving on puts more weight on the tongue to stop the inertia of the moving vehicle. This wasn't me, by the way. 😂
Have over a thousand hours on that same engine and mower. Thank you for the broken hood bracket fix idea. With the price of new mowers I am going to run mine as long as I can. Every year is a gift. Just wish replacement mower decks were not so crazy priced.
@@christopherramsey4467 You aren't kidding. The cheapest mower new is over $2k. Wild. I'd rather keep my 40+ year old Deeres going for way less. I'm seeing more machines for the same reason. Thanks for watching!
That spoon trick works pretty good. 👍🏻
Pretty cool.
@@TheodoreStimson-fe9je Thanks!
How much does the foam weigh?
@@MK-yeah The Carlisle foam weighs around 14.4 lbs per gallon of tire capacity.
Thank you, this has been pretty informative 👍🏻
@@TheTreegodfather I try!
That fitting is absolute genius 😮
@@TheTreegodfather Thanks!
Gotta work slow and carefully. Iv got a 1946 David Bradley garden truck with plow and disc. Parts are hard to find
@@altonkenne579 That's why we have an in-house machine shop. ;)
@@BrooksideFarmBarreMA cool I don't im a do it yourself. I don't have a shop I'm disabled but was an auto and diesel mech. For over 45 years I still enjoy tinkering the way my dad did.
@@altonkenne579 Absolutely, I'll be a tinkerer until I'm dead. Grew up underneath tractors and cars with my dad. I've been in a wheelchair since August of 2011 from an accident, but I try not to let it slow me down any more than I have to. The machine shop sort of developed over time as a way to keep the old equipment going. As you said, often parts are unavailable or crazy expensive.
@@BrooksideFarmBarreMA wow I'm glad you have that attitude to no matter the situation. You find a way to adjust. Iv been diabetic 50 years this month I'm 63. Been in surgery 19 times 5 eye surgeries the rest toes. Except 2 urological surgeries. Fell off a ladder 6 years ago broke both ankles and right heel. Cracked both shins. Bruised 4 discs in my neck 5 in my lower back. I don't get around as good as before I do a lot of tinkering sitting down run a weed eater 15 minutes and have to rest my back and ankles for a good while but there's always a way it just takes southern ingenuity and the drive and passion to survive and keep going forward

This was ripped from a VHS video of a job I did in late 1999.
I love it, It would have been nice if Harbor Freight added the feature in the machine. Good Video and thanks for your comment on mine.
@@TheToolReview Thanks! I think they left it out to make people buy the ProTig 205 as well, since the OmniPro actually has two gas valves built in, and everything else is just software.
Totally boring load of crap
I'm no @Abom79 but I try my best!
how comfortable is it to run?
Considering I'm a pretty big dude, it's not bad at all!
thanks alot@@BrooksideFarmBarreMA
Just did the same thing to my tractor love it.
Dude, that surpasses disability at both ends of spektrum. Well done. You might konsider putting kits together and selling them. Just a thought. Salute
Did you just modify the original handles or fabricate new ones to accept actuator? I was trying to work out how to activate both handles simultaneously and hadn’t considered just connecting the actuator between them and having one cam over at a time like that. 👍
Just modified the existing ones.
Could you do a video on how you attached the winch to the tractor?
Do you gave a source for the vernier reduction drives?
I’d love to modify my sb200 for that.
Easy to do that while you're standing on the ground. Not so easy when you're 20 50 ft up. It's an art flipping Big trees
Nice fist de W5UOT
Thank you! 😊
Very awesome! Having to get on and off the tractor to throw the levers sort of defeats "quick attach"
Noice.
This is the EXACT method I use word for word as if I made the video myself! Works every time. I’ve also found that if the hoses are in fact connected and you accidentally hit the grapple or even flat out pick it up, the lines will equalize since they’re in a loop. If you nudge it once they’re disconnected is when you will have a problem!
That's absolutely correct, they'll equalize for the most part, if they aren't moved too far Bear in mind the volume of the hydraulic cylinders isn't the same on the extend side vs the retract size due to the piston rod.
How do I install a second hydraulic line on my JD316
You need the "T" connectors for the hydraulics, the correct valve with two spools, and the hydraulic lines and connectors to go out front. I see them on eBay now and then, both as OEM take-offs and aftermarket kits. 👍
@@BrooksideFarmBarreMA Thanks, I just realized that a 1978 JD316 is quite different than a 1987 JD316. I have a steering knuckle and universal joint right in between my H2 linkage and my valve body. This is going to be a challenge.
@@paulg444 Very different for sure!
That's some skill right there. I am in awe of all the pros that climb the big trees
Thank you for the video was very helpful. also i climb for clearance in the redwoods in fortbragg. 🤘🤘
Man had a big 90 dbh redwood an i could not flip up for the life of me i got 20 ft up until i found a stub for a tie in i was so frustrated an exhausted i had to get my foreman to show me how i felt so defeated but i think im ready for another shot at it. Mind ive only been climbing 2 months im not by any means as good as others but im gettin ther an lovin it
Good luck. Keep trying and you'll get there.
Do you have anymore videos on this backhoe?
Did you add a subframe to the box? Any issues you noted?
Nope. Been a few years with it now; no problems.
Would have liked to have heard the machine operate. Jeepers creepers
I'm deaf. All sounds the same to me. 😂🤷
Good sounding 210! Plows nice.
Thanks for posting you running your backhoe, I have not found many videos of this backhoe. If you ever get the chance to video a close up walk around and talk about what you think of it, I bet I and others would like to see more of this fine little BHM-5 thanks
Well I can tell I'm still happy with it, and haven't had any problems.
Hello I'm looking to buy a small three point backhoe and I'm on the fence if I should buy a BHM-5 or the Woodmaxx 6'? I have a older gray market 18HP Shibaura 4x4. I'm thinking the BHM-5 would fit my tractor a bit better being the lighter and smaller of the two. How many hours have you put on it and have you had anything go wrong so far with it? How is the build quality of it? Thanks :)
+Mike festiva I'd go with the smaller BHM-5 for the same reasons. Got about 80 hours on it, no failures or issues yet. Build quality pretty good.
Hello again, I ended up buying one of these BHM5 backhoes for my 18hp tractor about 2 Year’s ago, it’s been a good little backhoe! I was a bit worried at first with how it was going to hold up because in the first 6 or so hours I had a boom cylinder packing seal fail causing the boom to not hold its self up, it would drop down in about 10 seconds, and it wouldn’t hold pressure down ether, I called the company and they were okay but I did hope they could have been better. They ended up sending me the seal kit and I ended up putting the kit in. It ended up fixing it for good. I have put in about 40 hours or so over the past few years and it’s always works good. I do wish it had a little more power with moving the boom right to left. Have you ever tried to turn up the hydraulic pressure on yours?
PTO guards in place, looks good!
Pretty cool. I made a sunrise time laspe.
