I wish I had a bit more positive idea dropping today, but there isn't. Even though the Belgian Grand Prix is getting a contract renewal, it will no longer be an annual race. And for horse racing in northern California, it's an even more depressing situation. First was the shutdown of Bay Meadows, and then came the shutdown of Golden Gate Fields. But now, Pleasanton has given up on the Golden State Racing program and that now leaves northern California without a permanent home for horse racing. The Belgian Grand Prix is guaranteed to still be around for some time, and who knows who is going to take those spots in 2028 and 2030. But either way, F1 and horse racing are changing, and who knows what the future holds.
