MG Cyber GTS Concept Visual Review || OTO 13BX1
MG has revealed a hardtop version of the beautiful Cyberster electric roadster called the Cyber GTS concept.
While the concept doesn't have a finished interior, it does feature a 2+2 layout inside.
At this point, the hardtop is just a concept for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, though MG is using the opportunity to gauge production interest from fans.
MG is once again honoring its heritage with the introduction of the new Cyber GTS concept, which has made its debut in the U.K. this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The GTS concept arrives on the scene as a hardtop version of the upcoming MG Cyberster roadster.
While the Cyberster pays homage to the classic MG roadster, the GTS Concept looks to honor the MGC GTS Sebring race car of the late '60s. Details on the Concept are scant, but so far we like what we can see. Rather than just slap a hardtop on the Cyberster and call it a day, MG put the work in to make the GTS its own thing. For starters, MG head of design Josef Kaban told Top Gear the concept features a 2+2 layout inside. The concept car retains the roadster's face though things start to get more interesting as you move towards the cabin. The body takes on a fastback look, with the roofline stretching gracefully into the rear decklid and finishing in a duckbill spoiler.
While MG hasn't revealed any powertrain specifics beyond it being electric and rear-drive, we think it's safe to assume the coupe will mirror the roadster. That model features a pair of electric motors with the rear unit producing a respectable 335 horsepower. We think the Cyber GTS will utilize a single motor layout making similar power.As things stand now, the GTS Concept is just that, a concept, but MG appears to be gauging interest in a production model. Unfortunately, as with the Cyberster, the GTS Concept won't be making its way to the U.S.
