    What your friend explained to you sounded like the recipe for Feuerzangenbowle. That is very nice but not the same as Glühwein. At the Chistmas markets they usually only serve Glühwein.

    REWE: for the first e I suggest the feliz navidad- e sound. The we sounds like ve(ntilation). There is no e in German that sounds like the one in the English alphabet. That’s an i. 😅 Enjoy your German Christmas 🎄!!!

    Wow, you got a really nice christmas tree. I assume Kate was responsible for the decoration, because women usually have a better eye for design. Really amazing result - love it. Regarding the shop name "REWE". Just think of speaking the sentence "the payment of the rent went easily" in english. If you just pronounce "REnt WEnt" without "nt" in the same way, it will sound like we pronounce the name of the store in German language. So you did very well, Tim. 👍🏻

      @szeddezs Рік тому

      but REWE has two different 'e' sounds, first is a 'long' e, second is a 'short' e, they don't sound the same like 'rent' and 'went'.

    If you ask where to go, i would highly recommend Berchtesgaden. It has outstanding nature and the view at the mountains (alps) is amazing. You also find The Kehlsteinhaus there, americans know it as the eagle's nest, where hitler had his place. You need to go there or you will regret it later ;-)

    To teach a little history, the first german train was going from Nürnberg to Fürth in 1835 the famous "Adler" . There is also a Museum called DB Museum Nürnberg, if you into such stuff.

    If you find mead on the market, please try it. It is honey wine from the old germanic tribes. It was drunk in europe since about 2500 bc. i love it!

    You should try french orange chocolate ice cream. I tried it when I was on vaccation in southern France (Provence). It is the best orange chocolate...ish thing you can eat. The lemon basil ice cream also is a banger. If you'll get the chance to visit southern France one day, you should take it. Remember the ice cream.

    Turkish cuisine, highly underrated! Try a genuine "Adana" (minced lamb) at your local "Köz" (turkish grill restaurant) you will love it. Btw one of my favorites is "Beyti" which is minced lamb rolled in thin bread, served with tomato sauce and yogurt 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

    As a German i am always proud and flattered when people come to Germany and enjoy parts of our culture since we've always been taught to feel ashamed for our history. There is much much more than WW2 . Love from Hamburg Germany 🇩🇪🙏🏻

    it is very common thats americans say not enough spices..because american companys cover up the less quality with spices in europe/germany is more common to taste the original product with kess spices because the quality is way higher. ofc you can get hot stuff too but in general less spices,sugar and fat are used.

    Service Tip go to a Italian Pizza in Germany/Europe then you have a high chance you think American ones taste like a piece of card board.

    I am new to your channel and wanted to know which town this was in, then I first saw a restaurant and then that car with Frankenflitzer ... googled carsharing Frankenflitzer - Nürnberg - googled Restaurant Pfeffermühle Nürnberg, went on their website, went for gallery - et voilà - Nürnberg it is. I am curious like that because Germany is not very homogeneous, so context is important.
