Festalingwi 2024
Kull sena l-Ewropa tfakkar il-Jum Ewropew tal-Lingwi, li fih niċċelebraw il-wirt lingwistiku u kulturali tal-Ewropa.
F’Malta, dan se nagħmluh billi ninġabru biex għal ġurnata, ingawdu u niskopru s-sabiħ li toffrilna l-lingwa, billi nippruvaw xi lingwa ġdida, nilagħbu logħba jew tnejn bi lsienna, u ngawdu mużika friska f’atmosfera mill-isbaħ.
Il-programm se jsir waranofsinhar, u min jiġi se jsib xi ħaġa x’jagħmel matul il-ġurnata kollha - sew hux billi jipprova lingwa ġdida bħall-Ispanjol, il-Ġermaniż jew il-lingwa tas-sinjali, jara spettaklu jew film, jieħu sehem fi kwiżż, jew saħansitra jipprova l-interpretazzjoni, sa ma jasal il-ħin tal-kunċert ta’ Ħoss il-Malti, bis-sehem tal-grupp maħbub Brodu u Sean Borg.
Għat-tfal, għandna sessjonijiet ta’ qari għal etajiet differenti, spettakli teatrali minn More or Less Theatre u spettakli mużikali u teatrali minn Mariele Zammit, Justin Galea u Ġużè Camilleri.
Fost il-lingwi differenti Ewropej li nistgħu nieħdu togħma tagħhom għandna l-Ispanjol, il-Franċiż, l-Ukren, il-Bask, kif ukoll il-lingwa tas-sinjali Maltija. Ma jistax jonqos ukoll li niċċelebraw l-ilsien Malti, bi programm bi lsienna li jinkludi Kwiżżikk, kwiżż dwar l-espressjonijiet Maltin, workshop imsejjes fuq il-ktieb Mela!, u l-finali tal-kompetizzjoni Żanżan Kelma.
Every year, Europe celebrates the European Day of Languages, in which we celebrate Europe’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
We’ll be celebrating it in Malta by gathering for a day around language - be it through taster lessons of a new language, games and quizzes in different languages, theatre shows and a concert, Ħoss il-Malti, featuring Brodu and Sean Borg.
We have animated reading sessions for children in different age groups, theatre shows by More or Less Theatre and a musical performance for children by Mariele Zammit, Justin Galea and Ġużè Camilleri.
Among the different European languages we can try out are Spanish, French, German, Ukrainian, Basque, and Maltese sign language. We will also be giving the Maltese language its due, with the programme featuring Kwiżżikk, a quiz on Maltese expressions, a workshop centred around the book Mela!, and the annual Żanżan Kelma spelling bee final.

Maltese bread has changed. It use to be dense inside. For some reason it is now too light and fluffy. I have tried many and they are all the same. I have now reverted to making my own….and it’s as I remember it to be. The bakers have told me that it’s the flour. My own bread turns out fine, so it’s not the flour.

"La yakun lak zare bayn al hayjin taht ashams" this is ARABIC , but Phoenician and arabic are both semitic languages and thus they are similar to each other, the similarities between Maltese and phoenicians is pretty much explained, since maltese is derived from arabic it would also be similar to phoenician.
