He overdosed on meth. He was a drug addict since he started. He never could rap without it. Even he said he had to relearn how to rap. He went to rehab the first time in 2005. He never took it seriously back on drugs and almost died. And still did it for like another year til they had to use meds to stop the addiction and even he said his brain didn't start working immediately it took quite a long time being on those meds. But dude you got your information all wrong because even he said when he was overdosing he called the ambulance himself

Sorry to say but since this drake and kendrick beef i think rappers are going to learn not to get on kendricks way. Drake learned the hard way.

You don’t imitate and glorify another group of black people’s trauma and claim it as your own just to call yourself black. Kendrick explains this in his song, “You Ain’t Gotta Lie (Momma Said)”, back in 2015. It doesn’t undermine his blackness, it’s him calling out the insecurities he has and saying you don’t have to prove your blackness and the way that he does this hurts us more than anything. I feel this way because I grew up seeing this exact logic at play. The more you promote a specific image of blackness, the less of a variety the world and black people, ourselves will accept others.

I think anyone can wmbrace blacl culture, but when it comes to being a music artist and profiting off of songs, I think it's fair to say that people like Drake shouldn't rap about things like gang violence when he never experienced that himself. Its not about the fact that he is only half Black, its about more about the question of is he faking his connection to black culture and the urban black experience to fit into hiphop culture in order to make profit. I think that is what Kendrick was pointing to and not saying that he isn't black enthnically, but saying that he is not actually apart of the culture.
