I understand that there is a lot to complain about but if you have absolutely anything negative to say about Ersson in a time like this then you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Ersson is the only reason that this team has any chance in any game and even the “weak” goals cannot be a way to judge him when this defense is playing as terrible as they are right now. Incorrectly evaluating the goaltending situation without properly setting up a viable defensive core is what has ran so many goalies out of Philly in the past and it would extremely irresponsible to negatively evaluate him in these games as a hockey analysis knowing the painful history of this team and ruining goalies.

So many people assumed the team had pivoted from 'rebuild mode' to 'win mode' because Michkov came over... but, what is your understanding of what Danny, Jones, Torts, and Hilfery are saying behind the scenes? With the amount of 2025 draft capital on hand... I always saw this season as another basement dwelling season.

Why is York not getting a big chunk of power play time?

I agree that Tyson Foerester should have been in the lineup, but Brink was the only player who actually had a multiple scoring chances in the game. Cates was good on the PK. TK looked like he was pressing. Coots actually looked ok. Zamula was dreadful.

That game was a mess. I turned it off after the 1st period. There was no recovering from that. Where do we go from here? The players, and the coaching aren't on the same page. Two camps are forming with the fans, pro-coach and pro-players. The rebuild seems to have gone sideways, and I'm starting to think that the coach is just trying to win one more Cup, before he decides to hang it up. If they Flyers bump Torts up into management, I'm fearful that one of the current assistants would become the coach. What other choices are out there?

Where has the rush gone? Torts said the beginning of the season that they need to work on net front play, and they definitely do, but why has the offense he created in preparation for Mitchkov (you remember the “Mad Russian”press conference?)suddenly disappeared?

Tortorella should coach a team that is a competitor but needs to be put over the top like the Kings or the Islanders. He doesn't need to be coaching a team that is supposed to be rebuilding.

Tom Wilson still plays for the Caps, right ? So Deslauriers & Cates will be in, Luchenko & Brink will be out. Seeler says he's OK to return, so figure Johnson sits. Andrae maybe goes in replacing Zamula. Couts back to center between Foerster & Farabee. Frost stays between TK & Mitchkov. Tippett drops to 3rd line.

To me, Torts looked disinterested after the game. Are the players tiring of blocking shots, getting injured and all the line changes? Torts seems to want the game to change to his style of play rather than adjusting to what the players can do, and what is going on during the game. He's stubborn for sure. As we say every week, quit holding onto the security blanket of the vets.and let the kids play now. I agree with Russ on the Coots situation. What is the coaching staff thinking? This team has a laundry list of problems. All we can hope for is a really high draft pick in 2025. #1 over all would be sweet. And all they have to do is keep everything exactly as it is.

It is exhausting to constantly chase the game. Thats the common thread with the 4 games so far. Took a 2-0 lead in Seattle. They need to button those situations down. Instead it got out of hand again and then they play catch up. If the Flyers were up 3-0 with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd period, I’m still not confident that they can win the game. Michkov needs help. He can’t do it alone.

I don’t get the Luchanko hate. He is playing well. 5 on 5 he is playing just as well as Mich. Luchanko is building chances and is playing well defensively. I don’t understand how u say well Mich will make mistakes but if Jett does send him down

Having watched these games i dont think this team is a playoff team. They got some pride and grit but my god that defense is not good it needs retooling in next years. Offense is also frustrating. Aside from michkov who is just starting i dont see game-changers who create constant chances in offensive zone. Maybe konecny but thats all. Tippett is just bad all round how many times he will miss the net or lose the puck on pp when you just need to make a safe move instead of going 1 on 4. They lack the talent everywhere. You got 3 first rounders get some great prospects in your system and start developing them

It's easy to see that the problems this team will have are on defense. Seeler being out will be worse than people think. Just saying - the current league ranking top pair is : ( are you ready for this ) Sean Walker & Shane Gostisbhere, now together on the Carolina Hurricanes

It seems like the players coming out of the National Development Program here in the States who are drafted high act like they are privileged. I am surprised by this recent act of events. I like the humble player like Jett a Canadian who is humble and will give your team a chance to win one day. Not being a Cancer in the Locker Room compared to some American players. Congratulations to Denver being named Captain of London. This is uplifting as he wasn't on the ice with the Flyers this summer due to illness.

Risto looked great and I thought York played solid defense. Both moved the puck well too. Sanheim playing around 25 minutes each night has got him a little sore and banged up, so not all the defensemen were universally good. I really like how many situations the coaching staff has given Zamula as of late. He seemed equal parts good and also shaky keeping the puck alive in the ozone, so really it seems theres some growing pains with the new promotions. Walker left big shoes to fill.

I would have preferred Emil Andrea playing over Johnson. I know there is the size factor. But, you really can't tell if Andrea is regular season material from the press box. Johnson doesn't hurt you but... Torts goes with the players he knows.

Driving the net recklessly like that with McDavid, Leon, and Bouchard on the other side... when you know the two forwards on the ice with you are TK and Michkov is essentially score or it's over for you. And he didn't score.

I’m really on the fence about Risto and Zamula as a pair. It doesn’t look like they are gelling yet, but I’ll give it time. In the short sample so far, Risto looks completely different than he did in preseason.

Losing two of the top 6 forwards to fighting against lesser talented players that late in the game wasn’t good.

Defense is soft.

We have a shoot out win, a regulation loss, and an OT loss. Can the hockey gods give us some regulation wins? That would be great.

Me I Will Play York with Risto and Sanheim with Zamula

Like Drysdale , when York was drafted he was touted more of a offensive defenseman, but last year he seemingly spent more time developing his defensive side. Now that he has made strides defensively, I feel like he has been given the green light to be more of an offensive force. Do you feel like this was a deliberate approach with York and will the team take a similar approach with Drysdale? He seemingly has a long way to go to sure up his defensive play and maybe that is why it feels like they have training wheels on him offensively ? We keep hearing of his offensive tools, but other than his speed and lateral movement on the blue line I have seen zero evidence of the offensive player Torts wants him to be. I’m just not sure what he is right now.
