Honestly I think the game 5 win vs TES was more important for GenG's mental and eventual MSI victory while simultaneously breaking their curse against LPL bo5s. I'm talking about the teamfight right after Chovy got picked near top pixel brush and TES starts up baron. The rest of GenG rallies for a desperate teamfight and _actually_ wins the 4v5 without their main damage dealer Corki; more importantly, they didn't just "win" the 4v5 and push TES away from baron after getting a single kill, Kiin/Canyon/Peyz/Lehends *aced* TES! GenG could have easily backed off after Creme died and TES tried to withdraw... but they didn't, instead they started the chase! That had to be an enormous confidence boost.
Really interesting points for sure. Chovy has been the backbone for GENG so winning a fight without him and breaking the bo5 curse is massive. When I rewatched the game I think I agree that the TES game was more impactful. Without that win maybe they wouldn’t win this series.
@@zathdos1609 This GenG roster just has such amazing synergy for only being together just over 7 months now. Had this been 23GEN, Doran would've TP'd onto a flank ward instead of properly joining his team and get blown up, while Peanut would have tried to do a coinflip baron steal (and die in the attempt) rather than a straight up 4v5 teamfight without Chovy. Having listened to a lot of their comms during matches, Kiin/Canyon/Chovy/Peyz are a lot quieter than Lehends, but they all speak up when needed. For example, in the grand finals game 2 match, when GEN and BLG are both hiding in the enemy's side bush between 1st and 2nd tower waiting for the other team to blink first, it was Peyz's call to stay and wait for Bin to TP. They ended up waiting something like 27/28 seconds in that bush but it paid off! Peyz is the youngest member on GenG by a noticeable margin, so the fact that his older teammates didn't pull rank and ignore his advice based on age is an incredibly good sign at how well they mesh with each other.
@@styrfry drafting for them is also amazing. That’s why I made a full vid on GENG playing fiddlesticks. I truly think this team could win worlds if the meta is good for them

You’re classing Swiss a completely random draw as proof. Sure NRG got through with possible one of the easiest draws possible. Don’t tell me any eu or na team is making it through with KTs draw not a chance.

Bruh, NA is 5-2 against EU at worlds with 1 team coming out of Swiss while EU has 0. The C9-FNC series was close and MAD failed to take any games off NA. NA is the 3rd best region so no, they don't suck.
eu got 3 finals appearance while NA has not passed semis and always struggling at advancing NRG was just lucky and g2 had a bad day. cmon bds eliminated GG and fnc kicked c9 lol. and wtf worlds 2022 NA was 3-15 at groups stage right the worst showing out of all major regions
