I started trout fishing just over a year ago. Was hard to get fish at first, but after a while you start to know where the fish will be and what lures to use. It doesn't take long.🙂

Was using a blackmagic blade spinner today. It's called babybrown.

Not to bad. Quite a few banks have caved in so there's a few spots to fish that normally wouldn't be able to. But further up stream gets a bit difficult.

It's hard to say this year. May had less rain, but June is when they start to come up stream to spawn. You're right though. It's been very quiet after the flooding and the streams have taken on a new shape after the rain. 👍🏼

In west virginia I've scene guys stocking the streams ,throw trout off of bridges 30 feet to the water.trout are tougher than you think.what this guy did was not bad

wet hands or towel better, but holding the fish till it’ s back to breathing properly is totally good practice. personally i fish only to eat - it’s not a sport to me.

@AshrecNZ I have honestly brought a trout license like for the last 6 years to go camping out minginui for a week and never used it apart from that week. But seeing how productive the local streams can be has definitely helped me get out more, especially videos like yours showcasing local areas. Will hopefully go again tomorrow nd see how things go. Thanks mate. Appreciate it. The last month or so the browns have been really active. I just lost a big brown yesterday, was so gutted. In my opinion you can't beat the local streams around Rotorua. All the best with your fishing mate. Might see you down there one day.

Always use blade spinners. I think that day I was using a rainbow coloured veltic spinner.

Waiteti stream. Out past Ngongotaha in the Rotorua area. You can get there via Dalbeth Rd.

That's awesome mate. I've fished the Utuhina stream a few times. Done a couple of vids of me fishing it last April. Have gone down a few times during spring and summer, it's popular at the moment. 👍🏼

Waiteti is fly and spinner fishing from December 1st to June 30th above Hamurana rd. I've got all the info bro.
