Listen to your trainer
You have trusted your trainer to train your horse. The trainer has spent many hours working with your horse. If your trainer does not believe the horse is a good fit for you and the activity you plan to do with your horse you need to listen and not discount what they tell you. There are signs that your horse are putting out that is telling your professional things that you may not be reading. The professional is much more aware of what the animal is telling them. If your trainer tells you to sell the horse and you still want to keep if for your activity then go get a second opinion with a different trainer and then if they both tell you the same thing you need to follow their advice. Change horses, change intended activities whatever it takes to make you have a safe horse. Not all horses are suitable for all activities. Not all horses are suitable to be calm cool horses. Some need a high pace environment some need calm slow environments. The trainer should be able to tell you what the horse needs. Listen to them. Same for your farrier and veterinarian. They are professionals that you have paid for their opinion. You can get second opinions and sometimes that is wise. #gaitedhorsetrainer #gaitedtrailhorsetrainer #missourifoxtrotter #horse #trailhorse #raftermtrainingstables

Teach yourself and your horse to stand and relax before you try to go anywhere...

How to buy a horse that fits your style of riding
Переглядів 533Місяць тому
We recommend that you first go and try out horses that are the breed that you are interested in riding as well as the temperament that you are looking for in a horse. You also need to look at how the horse is made and how the horse travels. Once you have experienced the type of horse that you enjoy riding and then go looking for that type of horse. Please don't buy a horse based on color and no...
Bug bites
Переглядів 205Місяць тому
Good morning! We have experienced either Mites, Chiggers, something in the woods that has eaten horses really bad. We wanted to share our experience so that you might have a solution if you experience these bug bites. We use Dexamethasone to relieve the itching. We have also found a topical that works to help get the bites to go away Blu-Kote. I sprayed the horses' legs where I had bites and th...

She was so thankful that her horse had been taught to lope so she could get back to camp. She had to lope through water above the horse's knees to get to her truck and get hooked up and drive out of the flo...

Many times, the rider is sitting in the go position which gives the horse the cue to go forward. Riders need to relax in the saddle with their bottom, legs, feet and hands. When you want the horse to be relaxed you need to be in a relaxed position. Riders need to get out of the horse's mouth when you want the horse to be relaxed.
