Hi! I'm Freda February. I'm here just having some fun. Mainly ranting about some movies, giving my very unqualified opinions as fact. Sometimes we have an appearance from my beautiful little dog... often we have barking in the background....
Megalopolis Movie Rant!
What a film.... Megalopolis has been in the mind of Francis Ford Coppola since the 1980s, should it have stayed there?

A Quiet Place Part II Movie Review
Переглядів 58Рік тому
Controversially, I hated this movie. I loved A Quiet Place part one, but I hated this one. Sorry John. A Quiet Place Part II, starring Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Cillian Murphy, Noah Jupe, Djimon Hounsou, John Krasinski. Directed by John Krasinski.
Jaws 3-D Review

Words cannot describe how much I LOVE this movie. Oh, it's so bad it's so worth watching. Jaws 3D or Jaws 3 as who has the ability to watch this in 3D anymore? It's such a different movie watching experience then Jaws....

Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania - Movie Review
Dude Downsizing is amazing! What a concept and I loved it. I was late on the train and didn’t watch it until 2020ish.
Two thirds of downsizing is amazing, the last third where they change the theme and the awful romance they force on Paul and Ngoc! Terrible. Maybe I'll make a video on it so we can chat about it! Thanks so much for watching this one and commenting!!
Great video! In addition to them never showing Forbes under the red light, when he's writing the "map" for the machine, he writes everyone's initials and for himself you can see he started to write "B" then changed it to "F"
Oh my gosh! Totally missed that! Thanks for your comment and thanks so much for watching!!
Regarding the twist, I think they do give some clues that Forbes is actually his sister! They keep using the lighting (red, if I remember correctly?) to show who is actually in the body we're seeing; and we see this done all the characters EXCEPT Forbes. And I also think the characters have to be kinda 2-dimensional archetypes to make it easier to follow who's who, and to make it possible for the actors to play so many different characters
Oh my gosh, if that's the case about Forbes I totally missed that!!! I'll have to watch it again.
I really enjoyed this movie! I thought the cinematography was so fun, especially the flashbacks being told through black and white Polaroids, but changing depending on who's telling the story. And I thought it would be super hard to follow who's who, but then found it surprisingly easy to keep up with.
I totally agree about the cinematography as well. It was really fun. And I do think it elevated the vibe of the whole movie. Thanks so much for watching and commenting on my video!!!
Great video. 10/10. I am not bias.
I like that movie.🙂
This is genuinely the inner monologue of everytime I do anything in the kitchen 😂
😂😂😂
You did an excellent job! Especially for the first time. It kind of looks like my house. Have a great Christmas keep creating great and original content!
Thank you so much!!!! Merry Christmas!
I think it’s so cute! I bake just like you, just throw stuff in a bowl and hope it comes out edible 😂
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! And hey I think it's a solid baking style! 😂 typically it does come out edible!
I loved your analysis. Another thing I believed made the movie so unwatchable it's the unlikable characters. The protagonist is such an ass with everyone. The directors couldn't bring development to them either. Everything looks so rushed and without cohesion. It looks like a school project made in the last moment 😂.
Thank you so much!
Ok maybe it's below average surfing...
You're not alone, I thought it was pretty poor too. I can't remember too much about it now as it was around Christmas I saw it. I do remember the boy being very annoying in it, didn't he go sneaking off on his own and getting in trouble at some point, why would he do that? Can't remember the ending at all. I'll skip the third if there ever is one.
I love the metal rack bit, the taking the blame over the recipe bit and the ring light not being on 😂 very aggressively average 😆 loved it and really want profiteroles
Hahaha thank you!!! They were actually very tasty I will say
You did a wonderful job! Looks delicious. We missed you!
Thank you so much!!! That means so much to me xx
The Aliens would of worked a lot better if they didn’t go overboard with them at the end. I think more subtlety and a lot less cgi would of gone a long way. The aliens should of stayed skeletons instead of merging into a living breathing one(especially with how bad it looked). The throne room shouldn’t of turned into a flying saucer and the last shot of Indiana looking at it with the temple crumbling maybe could of been some sort of vague light that could be interpreted as the aliens disappearing into “The space between spaces”.
I saw the number 23 when i was a teen, i thought it was the deepest, best movie i've ever seen. Maybe this is one i shouldn't rewatch
Hahaha. I love that! Look, I would personally keep your memory as it is in your mind. No need to re-watch it and lose the magic!
This movie has a lot of good scenes but unfortunately as a movie it doesn't work, especially the end is a mess, no tention at all, it gets very boring, too much CGI.
Oh I completely agree about the CGI. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This movie was incredibly delightful. It did what it needed to do and brought the game to life on the big screen almost perfectly. I was smiling the entire time and I’m looking forward to the inevitable sequels. Great review 👍
Thanks!!!! I loved it I think it's a really lovely kids movie!
I watched it on Disney+ the other night and I've already forgotten some of the things you mentioned. Cookie cooker describes it perfectly, and unfortunately for Disney they all seem to be these days from Marvel at least.
It's such a shame isn't it!!! And I love Paul Rudd but this movie is just so dull
I agree 100% with everything you said. However, because this movie did exceptionally well, and with the post-credit scenes they gave at the very end, there honestly is going to be a sequel in the near future. Right now things are at a standstill because of the Screen Actors Guild not coming to terms with things yet on settling on a deal. But there will be one coming someday, and hopefully, it makes as much as the first one did. I also usually don't care what critics say about films, especially with this one, but i guess they were going for something like Mario should be like he is in the games, or the Princess should be like she is in the games, or some other ridiculous reason. But I honestly think those people just didn't want this film to succeed, or thought it was going to be a flop like the 1993 version was. Nope on both counts. 😎
I completely agree with you! And I think the writers deserve to get a good deal and I have some hope that this might be a kick up the bum for some studios and maybe we will get better work off the back of this! But I understand that's wishful thinking
Everything is miked to death, way too much Marvel and Star Wars content. Even calling movies and series content shows how disposable it is. Iron Man one still is the best Marvel film in my opinion. Reboots are lazy, Indie 5 will play on nostalgia. Stanley Kubrick is turning in his grave and he did love a lot of other directors work. If you look back at his films and other masters it seems like it's becoming a lost art. You can blame overuse of CGI a bit for cheapening the spectacle, but it's mostly lazy and greedy studios who won't take risks. I get six free cinema tickets with my bank and I've used two this year for Avatar 2 (wish i hadn't bothered) for me and my wife. In the past I'd have used them all. Just nothing worth leaving the house for, and they're free. Netflix is finished for me by the way, rarely anything good on it, now the sharing change has happened here we've cancelled.
I completely agree with just not going to the cinema all that much anymore! I love the cinema and they have half price tickets on Tuesdays but so often I look at the listings and it's still not worth it!
Are you going to be reviewing Spider-Verse? ^_^
Nah. Look I will say the day someone came up with the multiverse being the reason for so many Spiderman actors in such a short period of time, was genuinely a genius move.
Crystal Skull filmed on location more than people give it credit for. It shot in the New Mexico desert for real, and the jungle scenes were filmed in Brazil, Hawaii, and Argentina.
Really? I looked it up and everywhere said it was mainly shot in the US. Thanks for the comment I'll do some more digging!
@@fredafebruary No worries! The majority of filming did take place in the USA including Hawaii and New Mexico, but additional scenes were shot in Brazil and Argentina is what I’ve been able to find.
Even though they did film on location they also brought with them green screens that they used in many of the shots.
Yes, it deserves the hate it received. Yeah I said it, I'm not taking it back either
😂 fair enough! Don't take it back. I have realised I am probably in the minority here of people that actually thought this wasn't that bad 😂
@@fredafebruary It's totally cool to like it btw. I guess I just have a chip on my shoulder when I hear that people are unfairly judging it. People like or dislike it for their own reasons. Cheers
The only thing good about this long rambling empty review is that cute dog that drops by.
😂 he is a very cute dog
I have the scene of Helena knocking out Indy. Come check it out.
I don't think it's terrible, I just think the script needed a few more revisions. There's some murky character motivations and payoffs with no setup. Good example is Indy losing his job at the beginning of the film due to Red Scare paranoia, but at the end of the film he's got it back with no explanation. People latch onto the fridge, the monkeys, and the aliens, and I find that frustrating because those really aren't big problems, just little silly moments.
You're absolutely right about the job thing! I agree they could have just made a few tweeks to the script it could have really elevated the whole movie! Thanks for watching and commenting!
how could u ever say thats an "ok" movie.Even if you compare it to the filth thats published nowadays. its a really bad movie.just because there are worse ones....really? I absolutely do not share your opinion
She can call it okay the same way you can call all the movies nowadays filth. Silly logic!
Thanks LaMakus! I think it's great we all have different views and opinions it's how we have creative growth!
To me, I enjoyed watching it. I thought it was a solidly ok time. I love Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, I thought it was a fun movie! But we absolutely can disagree and that's ok! I get that more people seem to think this movie is just bad then ok haha
I have often why the notion of Aliens, is any worse than the Arch of the Covenant. They never have an answer for that. But to answer your question, yes, it's pretty bad.
Yeah.... People seem to agree it's not great and I'm alone in thinking this is an ok movie 😂
@@fredafebruary Maybe it's because you live in Australia, so you are watching it upside down. lol.
😂😂 I actually laughed. That's a good one.
Hi! Do you do letterboxd? We would love to read your reviews there if you do!
I've never heard of letterboxd! I'll check it out. Thanks!!
Just watched this, the start was poor but didn't go on too long. I thought the same about her phone. Sitting looking at her photos while her battery drained. A good twist could have been it being the non slutty one who pushed off the slutty one and killed her but she blocked it out. Can't remember the names of the girls. Why didn't they just tell someone what they were doing, they could have got help if they didn't check in. Isn't that what your supposed to do anyway. Not great for the plot that 😂 The final ending was weak I thought too. I guess JDM was in this to get a name attached, anyone could have been the Dad. Decent B movie.
Points for being a Hemsworth, lucky boy. These two movies may as well not exist, the first two were pretty good I thought. Shame as it deserved a good ending. Won't bother with this new one unless it pops up on streaming somewhere. Check out Film Theory's surviving the hunger games video, that's fun. Even Jenny's appeal couldn't get me interested, but she can get some points from me anyway ;-)
I agree they might as well not exist, I loved the first and second ones! I've not seen Film Theory's video, I'll definitely check it out, thank you!
Completely agree🎉🎉🎉
Great review!! Keep it up 🎉🎉
I agree with about Russel Crowe, I actually watched The Mummy with Tom Cruise, just because Russel is in it😂
LOVE IT! He was the best thing in that movie! I don't know what it is... I just love him in movies 😂
@@fredafebruary In this movie, did you catch the scene where he walks down the road with the Colloseum behind him? Cheeky throwback to Gladiator🤣🤣💗💗
What?! No I missed that and I've seen this twice!! Gotta watch it again, good catch!
Your reviews are amazing. Cohesive and straight to the point
Thank you so much for the positive feedback I really appreciate it!
I gave you a thumbs up on your video cause there was no wasted potential
Thank you so much for the encouragement!!!
I wouldn't assign most(if not all)...the blame on the studio for this alleged disasterpiece(I have yet to see this film)...as Nick Cage has been doing a long string of awful movies(mainly for the purpose of relinquishing his massive debts.) Though he is fully capable of greatness(as evidenced by films like Leaving Las Vegas)...he is mainly a paycheck actor and a more respectable actor would have turned down the role, rather than be involved in a shit-show. At the very least, he should have insisted on offering to re-write his part....or perhaps being instrumental in trying to incorporate another writer for a massive re-write.
I do see your point and you are right I'm sure he could have had some influence if he wanted to but I love a lot of bad nic cage movies, this just didn't have the same bad b movie entertainment factor, it was just bad...
@@fredafebruary Yeah...some of his b-movies are really good as well(to the point where I don't necessarily consider them in the b-class)...such as Bad Lieutenant & Stolen. But in my opinion, he has done more flops than hits(essentially due to his terrible habit of pissing away his money.) To his credit though, he does work hard and he keeps himself busy...but the fact that his fans have to piss away their hard-earned money on so many of his cinematic failures, is really sad. Case in point...I recently bought "The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent"...because the DVD was only $5.00. Even so...this movie was unbearable & I only got through like 10 minutes of the film, before I ejected it from my DVD player. It was so awful...it was quite literally a tragic waste of 5 dollars. From here on in....I'll wait until his movies make their way onto a free streaming service(like TUBI)...before I even consider buying anything on disc.
Don't have Apple TV, might get a free trial to watch Foundation and For All Mankind (might wait for them to finish them first). Amazon I use for delivery and photo storage (price is getting a bit high for that even). Netflix is definitely out when the sharing clampdown happens in the UK. Might get it at Xmas for a month to binge the good ones (if there are any). Disney+ only if they give a really good offer, Marvel and Starwars aren't great now. It's not just TV though, I'm out with Spotify, I no longer want to pay to rent music, I've even gone back to CD, at least I can rip them and own them. Thanks for the review, Chris Evans is overrated I feel, I won't bother with this even if I do get Apple for a bit.
Hey I think with a free trial watch all you can get but i would absolutely put a reminder in my phone to cancel so I'm never charged! And I absolutely agree with streaming services not giving enough. The problem is we are too trapped in one 'brand' not many people ONLY wear one type of clothing but soon were supposed to ONLY watch Netflix or Disney+ or pay for EVERYTHING. It's too much
Do The Martian - it has a high score on rotten tomatoes at 93% but I am not sure I enjoyed it as much as the hype. Honest thoughts was it was a second rate version of cast away with no emotional aspect (and that's me being upset still about poor Wilson 😢). Would be good to hear what you thought
The Martian I enjoyed better on my second viewing. It isn't as good as the hype and I say this as a Ridley fan. The Last Duel I liked.
The movie is not bad. The only thing that is bad that is the designs of the dinosaurs they look horrible
Completely agree the dinosaurs look horrible! If you enjoyed it that's all that matters! My opinion is very unqualified 😂
friday or saturday depending on ur time zone ... blehhh ... try once a week or on weekends
Yeah I agree. I've stopped saying it. I think I say every week now! Thanks for the constructive feedback!
Totally agree part 1 was disappointing. Part 2 saved the season especially the last 3 episodes.
you are so on point. The kid role was so crazy
M3gan was awesome love her lady's and Gentleman and everything in between we have a new horror icon and she's awesome. The unrated edition of this movie is a lot better in my honest opinion. I personally love this movie😊 Other than that a great video keep up the great work👍 And greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱
Oh my gosh hello to you in The Netherlands! So cool that you're watching from there. I totally get that I am in the minority here with M3gan... I don't think it's bad I just think it's overhyped! But, clearly the masses agree I'm wrong hahaha Thanks for watching and your kind words 🥰
@@fredafebruary You are not wrong every person has a right to their own opinions. If you don't like this movie that's perfectly fine and theire's nothing wrong with that but once again i personally love this movie and i'm looking forward for the sequel😊 Other than that thank you for the response/reply and once again keep up the great work👍
@@fredafebruaryin movie part in past life look back
All the Jurassic World films are bad. Chris Pratt was ok in Parks & Rec. Passengers was ok but forgettable. I didn't like Guardians (seem to be alone there) either. I use the hand thing with my dog for stay, he even does it now and then.
I quite liked the first one, but totally agree two and three were just so bad. Passengers was an ok movie for what it was but totally forgettable. No one speaks of it anymore!
Thanks for saving my time, I had put this in my Disney watchlist. The style reminds me a bit of Zodiac and Seven so going for the David Fincher look. Check out The Last Duel by Ridley if you haven't already, I liked it. It's not perfect but a nice change to what we've been getting lately.
Zodiac and seven are much much better films than this one! I've never seen The Last Duel I'll definitely give it a watch, thanks!
Let me be the comment you were looking for. I saw it a few years ago and loved it, it's hilarious. I probably watched it because of Brooklyn 99. I know what I'm watching this weekend now, thanks 😀👍
Yes!!! Thank you for commenting! It's such an underrated movie!!
He left Marienne on the bench because she had a conversation with him last season and in the suicide note that Joe leaves her body where it could easily be found so that her daughter can have closure.
I totally get why Joe did it from his POV but I just think it was a massive gamble! He's clearly not himself... teehee
Nice review
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!
