The Lore Teller - The Lord of the Rings
Приєднався 12 вер 2024
We explore the lore of The Lord of The Rings, including "what if?" scenarios, theories and interpretations.
How did Gollum become Gollum?
How did Gollum become the tormented creature we know in The Lord of the Rings? In this deep dive into Tolkien’s lore, we explore the tragic transformation of Sméagol, a Hobbit-like creature, into Gollum, one of Middle-earth’s most complex and iconic characters. From his discovery of the One Ring to the internal battle between Gollum and Sméagol, we uncover the key moments that led to his downfall. Learn how the Ring’s corrupting power twisted Sméagol’s mind and body, driving him into isolation and obsession. Gollum’s role in the fate of the One Ring, and ultimately Sauron’s defeat, makes his story one of the most pivotal in The Lord of the Rings.
If you're a fan of Middle-earth, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, join us as we uncover Gollum's dark journey, his relationship with Frodo and Sam, and the internal struggle that defined his tragic existence.

The Lord of The Rings - The Very Beginning (The Silmarillion)
That wasn't bilbo that looked more like frodo
if Smeagol was crucial in destroying the ring it means that Frodo wouldn't have been able to cast the ring into the fire.
Divide and conquer - classic
No, Sauron was a maiar and thus immortal, he put part of his power into the ring not for immortality but in order to control the other rings. It is not a horcrux!
Never saw Strider as an alias, more a nickname
He has lost his mind. The ring had a firm hold on him.
The One Ring might have cured his cross-eyedness.
"Descendants of the greatest race of men" ...might want to rethink your phrasing
In a Deleted scene that's on the extended edition of The Two Towers, Aragorn mentions there are still some of the Dunedain left
And with his marriage with Arwen, the dilution was lessened to a certain extent, as the two broken lines was restored. Aragorn was descended from Elros Tar-Minyatur the 1st king of Numenor, twin brother of Elrond, the father of Arwen Evenstar. To add to this, Aragorn and Arwen both have Maiar blood as well from their ancestor Melian from the Blessed Realm.
is it really hiding when you get the name "Hope"?
You said valar wont intervene against the full power of the ring? The one ring is nothing against a power of valar
The Valar chose to take a passive role in the affairs of middle-earth so they likely wouldn't intervene. If they did, they would be able to destroy Sauron with ease.
Why does Aragon have 6 fingers on one hand and 3 on the other in most of this video? AI is weird
I didn't even notice that and now I can't unsee it
Didn’t Morgoth rule over Beleriand, not middle earth?
Sauron didn’t need the ring to win, he needed it to not be defeated, if the ring was never found at one point he would get to powerful to not need it anymore
As a LOTR historian, this video has impressive accuracy
Really appreciate you saying so!
Ever growing threat from who?
Sauron's nickname when he's cooking over the fires of mount doom
Plus a descendant of Elros the first king of numenor and Elronds brother
That would explain the longer life, thanks :)
Christ Jesus is Lord
I’d suspect the maya in middle earth along with elves would feel to the undying lands and the vala would intervene like they did against Melkor. However, they want the free peoples to own and conquer their land. This would have failed and they would have kept engaged with middle earth longer than they wanted to be
Why has every creature elven ears 😂
Tulkas doubts your views......
Haha, if anyone could take on Sauron, it'd definitely be Tulkas! Fortunately for Sauron, the Valar had no intentions of intervening with Middle-earth. How different do you think Middle-earth would have been if Tulkas did intervene?

Sauron saw Melkor try an all out war and it didn't work. Melkor even had Dragons AND Balrogs, powerful being that rivalled the Maia ... like we saw Gandalf facing off against Balrog of Durin's Bain.
Sauron's approach of weakening the armies that opposed him by corrupting their leaders was an effective approach and showed how his tactics differed from Melkor's
He didn't just want to win, he wanted to dominate. He fancied himself a god.
Exactly! Sauron’s ultimate goal wasn’t just military victory, it was absolute control
Not true. No one was stopping the dead army that Aragorn summoned.
Are you saying you think the Army of the Dead could have beat Sauron?
Horcrux
I agree with you elves ,dwarves and men couldn't stop him but saying that a Valor couldn't stop is just absurd ,sauron is a maya and mayas are a lower class to the Valor
Great point! You're absolutely right, the Valar operate on a whole different level compared to Sauron, even with the Ring. It was more about Sauron dominating Middle-earth because the Valar chose to remain passive. Appreciate you bringing that up!

Wtf happened to Frodo 😭🤣
We don't talk about cursed Frodo
Those who wear the elven rings can feel sauron's influence over the rings when he has the one. He couldn't control them.
Sauron's basic mistake of deciding that only one characteristic or tactic was ever enough to create an efficient and perfect world. This means he's not very good at mathematics, chemistry, and the principles of thermodynamics. People who are only stuck on one political perspective and do not test any of their dogma that they rely on are flawed individuals that are too dumb to realize how stupid they really are.
saruman and sauron work for Aulë first
It is interesting that both ended up corrupted by their desire for power and control
So, Sauron is the manifestation of bureaucracy
Sauron did love structure and control and his obsession with order definitely gave bureaucratic vibes, just with a bit of world domination on the side!

The AI is looking better!
That's not good, glad he didn't succeed
This is so inaccurate. Even with the ring any Vala would defeat him at any time
Good catch! You're right, the valar are on a completely different level than Sauron, even with the ring. It was more about Sauron's domination of middle-earth since the Valar decided to take a passive role. Thanks for pointing that out!

Nothing really! Someone would have chopped his finger off and that would be the end.
0:15 cursed Frodo is cursed
Tolkein Universe is beautiful.
Very interested, I never saw it that way, thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
not to seem like some giant geek or anything, but the valar would have no problem dealing with a simple maiar. levels my friend, levels.
That is true! If the Valar did choose to intervene then they'd be able to wipe him out with ease, but after Morgoth's downfall, they decided to take a more passive role in the affairs of middle-earth.
A "simple Maia" dude. Maia.
So fascinating
