Synergy of sound, light and space
Pretty How Town Trailer
In this trailer I explain the project in progress. I use it in my search for locations and events show the project. This would require a dark or half-dark space of about 8 by 10 meters minimum and a power supply. All the rest is included in the installation.

Steve Reich (b. 1936) Tehillim (1981) _Praises_ 01:37 Part I Ha-sha-mý-im meh-sa-peh-rim ka-vóhd Káil, U-mah-ah-sáy ya-dive mah-gid ha-ra-ki-ah. Yóm-le-yóm ya-bée-ah óh-mer, Va-ly-la le-ly-la ya-chah-véy dá-aht. Ain-oh-mer va-áin deh-va-rim, Beh-li nish-mah ko-lahm. Beh-kawl-ha-ah-retz ya-tzah ka-vahm, U-vik-tzáy tay-váil me-lay-hém. The heavens declare the glory of God, the sky tells of his handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, night to night reveals knowledge. Without speech and without words, Nevertheless their voice is heard. Their sound goes out through all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. ~ Psalm 19:2-5 13:08 Part II Mi-ha-ish hey-chah-faytz chah-yim, Oh-hávv vah-mim li-róte tov? Guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn from evil and do good, Seek peace and pursue it. ~ Psalm 34:12-14 19:30 Part III Im-chah-sid, tit-chah-sáhd, Im-ga-vár ta-mim, ti-ta-máhm. I don't like this lighting. The main act should be the music, not the lighting.
prachtig!
STOCKING STUFFER Gem-a tray of precious Rock-familiar some, and some unknown- Each now “ours + yours” alone- Yours at birth delicious- -Ly to fill to full A Christmas sock! Count on them, my vintage stock!
Video is really difficult to watch due to so much camera shaking at the beginning, it truly made me feel a little nauseated initially. Next time chair back or table top to rest the camera on please
This is the best live performance of this on you tube, is it possible to get a HD video, or something higher quality? Beautiful stuff
holy, timeless, pure joy
Wish there were close shots of the musicians. I can appreciate the camera was set to keep the lights part of the performance. Wow really putting the vocalists to work!
A highlight of 20th century music. A piece of incredible beauty. This is one of the best performances ever.
the marriage of the visuals and the music at around 31 minutes is incredible
Nice work 😊
I can only imagine that this what Scriabin pictured the 'Mysterium' being like... ;)
Ted Chaffman TRUE!!!
A wonderful live performance of a great and lovely piece; kudos to the performers. [The visuals are/were between utterly extraneous to badly distracting.]
brillante!!!!
I taught a duet of this song to my two eldest and they were successful in some singing competitions, then passed it over to the next two children and were successful too, My wife, Lucy, stops anything she does when she hears the song even in ouir "ripe" years.
I've grown tired of waiting for time to erase our memories
Time can't erase our memories. It only enhances both the good and the bad of them, which makes nostalgia a double edged sword that cuts us deeply when we remember.
This video is the first performance of this piece I ever encountered and I'm kind stuck on this version, its so good. Any other good performances of this?
the original ECM recording is the best I think
The singers were brilliant...
I agree! Let them take the next month working part-time at full pay, Rosh Chodesh!
This work is always so uplifting. "Illuminated" indeed!
what is this?
+Sharl Yu Rolling Stones - It's gonna Rain
+Sharl Yu The piece is called "Tehillim", which is the Hebrew term for "Psalms
Intrigerend, en dat bedoel ik niet flauw. Zonder geluid nog??
Ongehoord meesterwerk. Reich's masterpiece.
LOVE IT!!!
Beautifully done. Amazing song and music. Thanks.
Beautiful. The video of the car going backwards on the road is so poignant to lost and unrequited love. Painful expressions of something only the lucky will feel in their life. "Forgetting someone you love is like remembering someone you never knew".
Thank you very much for your eloquent compliment
Love this as much as Life itself.
Adonai!
Prachtige uitvoering!!
Just stunning ... wow
Why feel people the urge to "enhance" everything in their life? Is it impossible today to just, you know, listen to the music?
I can't believe this is posted at 360 AH!!!! Where's the 1080???
espetacular
What an awesome display! I perform Violin Phase on my channel.
It must be a religious preference, but if I'm going to listen to a mostly percussive and vocal track for 33 minutes, I'll take Rick Wakeman's Jouney To The Center Of The Earth!
Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ opened in 2005. The Danish architects 3xN designed the acoustic walls of the main concert room in which the LED's are integrated.
What venue is this?
hats off to the player playing that beast of a shaker/maraccas part.
Magnifique !
I first heard this piece 30 years ago and it's still one of my favorite pieces of music. What a wonderful way to present it--the lighting dances with the music. When I first heard it, I thought, this is what it sounded like 2000 years ago. Congratulations on a wonderful creation.
magic !
They just nailed that thing!
totally underwhelmed..... Sorry.
I saw this concert live. One of the most memorable concerts from the time I spent studying in Amsterdam. Beautiful.
Look at the wankers in the boxes, missing the proper stereo experience and seeing it from a dumb angle. Silly rich people.
This is Holland, and I would be really surprised if those balcony seats (they are NOT 'box seats') were any differently priced than the main floor seats. The old Isbreker hall was the same price, wherever you sat. If anything, they might cost a bit less than main floor seating because you have to sit sideways....
Wooooooooooooow ........... this is a breathtaking performance. I want more .... lol ...
such lucky people in the audience to experience this performance.
I adore this piece, but wouldn't a closeup of the singers work better for us watching on tape? Live, that light show must be exciting; but all I want to see here recorded is the 4 singers in detail.
Try this with LSD please
ironic since sound travels slower than light.
I'd never imagined Reich with a light show before. This is very nicely done. Excellent work.
