Pallet Wood Fence and Gate DIY Build (with Planter on Top)
I had a limited budget to build a fence so bought 6 old pallets for £25. Watch how I turned them into a gate and fence with planter along the top. A much cheaper alternative to buying new wood and better for the environment too.

DIY Outdoor Rabbit Run (Garden Enclosure for Exercise)
Переглядів 15 тис.3 роки тому
My latest project has been to build an outdoor run for my two rabbits. I used 2.4m lengths of CLS studwork timber to make the frame. I protected the wood with Cuprinol Garden Shades paint in seagrass colour. To the frame I attached 13mm welded wire mesh made from 16g wire. Several of the panels are joined by hinges so the parts can be folded up and stored during the winter when it's not getting...
Old Solid Brass Garden Sprayer Restoration
Переглядів 2,2 тис.4 роки тому
This vintage brass garden sprayer was made in the 1940s by Donald Edward Ltd in Birmingham, England. When I received it, the pump wasn't working and there was lots of tarnish and grime from years of use. Watch to see how I restored the brass and repaired the pump. I think this would be ideal in the garden or greenhouse for spraying plants with water but please let me know in the comments if you...
Vintage Hand Cranked Grinder Restoration

This is my first restoration video of this type so I would love to hear what you think. I'm a big fan of watching restoration videos of rusty objects being restored back to working condition so I decided to start work on some of my own projects. So for my first restore I'm starting with this hand cranked grinder. Most of it was in poor condition after what looks like many years of use, and requ...
How to kill weeds naturally with Roundup Naturals

See if Roundup Naturals, a Gyphosate-free weedkiller, is effective at killing weeds. Every gardener has to deal to with unwanted weeds but many are not happy using weed killers that contain Glyphosate. Roundup Naturals is an alternative that contains Pelargonic acid as an alternative. I'm doing a two-week test to see if it works. Products I used when making this video: These are paid affiliate ...
Decking Restoration using Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking Stain (Silver Birch)

My recent project using Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking Stain in the Silver Birch Colour to transform my old weathered decking. The decking wood had been stained with light brown and neutral oils and stains in the past (the deck was made with reclaimed boards) and so had a patchy and stained look to it. I was looking for a stain that would cover well and brighten it up so I chose a different colour ...

    @3:18 or so you are putting up the door frame but you have already assembled parts 7311 & 8378 using the 4045 screws. Did you simply drill the screws through at the indentations? This seems incredibly hard.

    I'd be worried about that. Bit of a sub base and a go with a garden roller at least I think. I mean, your putting a greenhouse on top of it. You want to get a few years out it. Unless you're building the greenhouse to anchor into the grass around the slabs and can always redo them if you need to I wouldn't trust it

    I found it quite amusing. Could have been edited to 10% of the length. Most people know how to use a broom. Should have been 10 secs, sweep away leaves, 20 secs jet wash, 15 secs paint deck, 10 secs paint hand rail then 20 secs showing dried first coat and then the same panning around the finished effort with some close ups of the finish.

    I think for a basic shed/greenhouse with a life expectancy over 5 years you need a slightly better base than this. You don't need 10cm hardcore whackered, you're not building a driveway! But you will need probably somewhere between 3-5cm of compacted MOT under a dry mix like this for it to last 5-10 years min. If you're renting though or moving in the next few years this will do.

    • @BX0207
      @BX0207 Місяць тому

      mine has lasted 20 years.. pavers 12x12 over screening..

  • @Crooksey84
    @Crooksey84 Рік тому

    how come you are not wetting the mix isn't just sand good enough in this case, as cements just pretty much dust in comparison to sand.

  • @lildeanc
    @lildeanc Рік тому

    No it needs deeper, I would recommend at least half a meter of aggregate and then at least 1 foot of sand and cement mixed 3 parts Sand to 1 part cement and then of top of that 3 layers of tiles with cement between them all, and a week to dry inbetween each layer. Then once that’s done get some gypsies in to tarmac 30cm of tarmac onto it, then above that 2 more layers of tiles and some sand and cement on the corners. Then on top of that a pressure treated wooden base and then a metal shed base. Then finally a teak or oak flooring. Then once you’ve done that can put some marble tiles on top. Then your shed is ready to be constructed with a a few more pressure treated wooden bases on top, and a damp proof course, then two more layers of oak planks and a few railway sleepers. It should last at least 4 to 5 years.

Please can I ask do you have any problem with the door tending to not fully close at the top even when the magnet on the bottom is engaged with the base? you have done the same mistaken as me the corner posts are wrong in your video they are 996 parts should be 9802 ones you have put in are for the roof they have locating holes the corner uprights have none ,be honest and tell the truth

      Hi, I have one of these and have only done the base so far (bought kit Sept 2022). I have an instruction manual from the internet that mentions Part 9802 BUT the actual manual that came with the greenhouse itself does not mention this part number at all. On page 3 of the included manual it shows part 996 going at the four corners. It then uses the further four part 996s for the gable ends above the door and back of the house( pages 22-27).This manual lists a total of 8 part 996s being included in the kit. The mention of 9802 confused me and I initially thought I didn't have all the parts until I looked at the included, presumably most up to date, manual. Looking at other videos of Palram greenhouse construction the mechanism of some parts fitting together does appear to have changed over time.
