Do u have a total rebuild on the 7.5 mercury motor lol Im sure u don’t live in Georgia so I’m gonna have to try to rebuild my carb but can’t find one on the same year as mine and this one in the video looks just like mine

I got the same engine in a trade and all the wires have become brittle/broken. Seems like a common problem for this make/model/year.

NGK BUHW = Champion 898 QL76V or L76V. Or even Autolite 2852 Surface gap plugs definitely still exist. I bought 3 Champion QL76V yesterday at O'Reilly. And have bought new sets every year for my boat.

Good morning ,i used rubber fuel available at any Automotive suppy store ,carb kit from Mercury Marine ,some aftermarket arnt bad ,but i dont like paddleing ,,thanks for watching 😊 make sure to check all wires for insulation break down cheers

Appears this was likely worked on one of those online small engine repair specialists that charge low rates and no guarantees. That is some serious damage and stupidity i see there buddy. Actually had one come in recently total Honda self propelled mower we were told was free since previous repair person told customer he fixed it but would not last long and he would need the engine replaced soon so FREE to us was great. Once we tried to start it was extremely hard to pull over so we thought may be hydrolocked but oil level ok. Checked valve clearance and found them with too much clearance not allowing the auto compression release to work so when properly set called the donor to offer it back to them for repair costs which he gladly paid and saved himself a ton of money.

For all your subscribers out there 100% guaranteed first start even after two years only happens when using an alkylate canned fuel, at Eliminator Performance we have had a lot of no start situations especially on the two stroke equipment that were due to bad TruFuel which is an Engineered fuel not Alkylate. VP canned fuel is similar and all burn extremely dirty when compared to clean burning alkylate fuels. I may miss some but i believe the only Alkylate fuels on the market right now are Aspen which is likely the most known, Kinetix which we sell at EP and comes from our B&S supplier, Stihl and Gulf Pro Fuel which i believe is only available at some dealers in Canada.

That’s a duckbill valve and Star retaining ring that go into the gas cap. It does Not go on a fuel line

Now is the time for snewblewer repairs, just to let you know EP stands behind Kinetix alkylate fuel either 4 or 2 cycle for storage. We even give a warranty it will start up in the Spring prior to the customer added any other fuel to the tank. No claims for 10 years.

Good detective work there Brian. Now is the time to call the customer to give the OK for a full service on this machine and yep hope you can get the wheels off but looks like they may be seized solid. Can you let us know, since at EP we get them in all the time and leave as is since it costs too much to remove them when seized. Part of our service is to remove the wheels and marine grease or nickel antiseize the axles once they have been cleaned or sanded down due to rust and no lubrication.

Now that is a dirty carb but a little time in the ultrasonic cleaner and you save an OEM carb, well worth the time spent for the replacement cost. China aftermarkets are cheap and may or may not work and there could be issues over a short period of time on how they run. 10 years at EP and i believe we have only scrapped two OEM carbs and that was due to excessive corrosion of the aluminium from the ethanol in the fuel.

Yep just as suspected normally caused by improper maintenance ie: regular oil changes. The number two money maker for small engine repair shops customers who never change their oil on a regular basis. Number 1 ethanol fuel useage.

Lucky day is correct some time it takes heat and sometimes we have even needed to weld a nut on the protruding piece to get it out. A real problem if they break off flush or inside the threaded area eh?

That one is not too bad you should see some of the ones that have come into the EP shop over the last 10 years.

At EP we get the wheelbarrow style compressors in from the roofing companies. Problem is they only come in when they do not run anymore and eventually the engines are shot because they have some many hours on them without regular even annual maintenance.

Well done Brian sometimes it takes some investigation to figure out the issue, this may also be an aftermarket carb with changes from the original happens all the time with aftermarket stuff.
