Thanks for your comment! MS Access 97 is not compatible with most systems today, including Tableau and also newer versions of Windows. I should have elaborated that you can still connect to MS Access as long as it is a supported version, but older versions prior to I believe 2006 or 2007 are legacy. Depending on the Tableau install, it may or may not come installed with the Access driver, but you can always install the driver for it. The install I am showing in the video did not have it, so I should have elaborated that Access is typically an option, but you still cannot connect to 97 directly without upgrading. Sorry for the confusion and misspeaking, but I hope this helps!

I should have elaborated more on this - yes you CAN use a filter on a measure to restrict data, but using the approach you mentioned is hardcoding the measure filter rather than making it dynamic, so whether or not it is truly reducing noise is subjective, where as with the other option it is dynamic if the underlying data changes. Does this help answer your question?

@@TusharLohiaLatentView Good question. In general, you would not apply a filter to "reduce noise" though. Reducing Noise typically means, reducing irrelevant values of a measure. If you are hard-filtering measure values, you're not reducing noise, you're filtering out values that YOU deem unnecessary by interacting with the filter using parameters (thresholds or specific values) that YOU set, rather than a hands-off, dynamic approach. Let's say you grab a bunch of data points on a scatter plot and filter out the outliers based on a visual determination. Now, you refresh the data, and that data is now more in line with what you previously filtered-out, then the filter you set is no longer reducing noise, it is filtering out relevant values which was not the intention. On the exam, reducing noise would not be considered an ideal use-case for using the filter shelf. This could be a topic up for debate, but just speaking from my perspective and understanding of it.

Thanks for reaching out and great question! With the "Tableau Desktop Specialist", there's some good news and bad news. The bad news is, you won't be able to use online resources anymore. The good news is, the exam is no longer hands on like it was several years ago. It will only be 45 multiple choice (or multi-select) questions (you won't actually be using Tableau desktop at all), so pretty straight forward! I hope this helps. Thanks for your question! The actual exam will 45 questions. But there is a larger pool of hundreds of questions, from which it randomly Pulls these 45. Similarly, the questions in my videos should resemble the actual questions fairly closely and are just a pool of possible questions. If you understand the underlying concepts in my explanations then you should be fine. Lastly, I will say the practice exam tests in my link are optional but they resemble the actual questions much more closely and provide hands on test taking if you see any value in that. But the UA-cam content alone should be enough for most. Good luck!

You should schedule your exam whenever you think you are ready and can answer most of these questions without needing to look at the solutions. If you are referring to the practice exams in the link, the choice is completely yours - those provide a more hands-on experience to take several practice exam tests. It is usually much better to practice something hands on rather than just watching videos and finding out where you might need to improve :) Good luck!

Hi Mohamed, great question! According to Tableau's own documentation, it is listed as one of the 4 advantages provided with an extract. In practicality, it really depends on the business use case but from my own professional experience, I'd say the #1 benefit is performance, especially when working with large data sets, followed by being able to use it offline and then finally the use of features such as the CountD function. I have actually had instances where I did have to use a countd function to accurately compute percentages based on the business logic, and in that scenario it was not ideal to do it in SQL so it made sense. I'd say in most cases you should be using extracts by default anyway because you rarely need realtime data, and a byproduct of doing so would be having the ability to use CountD as well. Knowing that CountD is available with extracts is going to help you on the exam though. I hope this helps, thanks again and good luck!

Great question as always, and thanks for the feedback Anton! Although Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud and Tableau Public are separate offerings, in Tableau Desktop you are able to go to Server > Publish Workbook and a screen pops up titled "Share via Tableau Server or Tableau Online". Here you can actually type in public.tableau as a SERVER and after connecting, may publish and share that way. So from a technical standpoint, it is considered a (public) Tableau Server in this context, even though it is separate from Tableau Server/Cloud in the context of different product/service offerings. Hey there, according to the porkbun website, they do offer 20 free email forwarders so I believe that should do what you're looking for!

Once migrated to squarespace do you know if there will be any other charges from square space apart from the yearly charge? I already connected my domain name to my shopify website would I still need to host at squarespace?

On this website they claim no additional fees, that you don't have to use squarespace hosting, and the Google domains pricing is grandfathered in for 12 months, so you are probably fine and don't need to do anything until it's time for your renewal and you feel the need to transfer the domain domains.squarespace.com/google-domains

The thing is while on google domain I was not paying for hosting but I connected my shopify to that name. My site was not live yet as I am still building my buissness site. But was able to view my landing page with that name. But suddenly my shopify has been disconnected and I'm not sure why. I don't even know how I was able to do this without paying for hosting. I'm so confused. Not sure if you get what I'm saying?

Hey, great question! It varies by company and job role/responsibilities but I’ve had lower tier companies have these in their technical screen which is usually in the beginning rounds of interviews. From hospitals to something like Kraft Heinz I’ve had easy to difficult questions. Surprisingly Kraft Heinz had harder questions than Amazon in some cases. Your mileage may vary but in times like this where companies aren’t hiring as much, there’s a lot more competition and these questions are more common than not. Joins, CTEs and window functions are pretty common from my experience
