How To Fix Humidifier || Cogent Appliances
So how can you get that top floor to be more cool , install a separate unit or just the refrigerant is low. how is it low if the other floors are cool ??
Flush out the R22 and refill it with R438a (AKA MO99) R410a systems have their drawbacks, higher operating pressures and added internal complexity Test your compressor status with a Megohmeter, if its not reading well than you can replace the compressor if you're good at brazing
Brother, you can see exactly where it's leaking from. Armstrong furnace, very common leak point on the left side of the collector box, there's is an additional drain point for horizontal applications, the plug is often loose from factory. Just needed a little Teflon on the threads and it would have been fine.
I put my camera in there and the heat exchanger was rotted . Lack of maintenance, lack of changing Air filter, gas pressure not set properly etc. Thanks for commenting
So did ya replace or fix gas valve ??
@@johnanderson3746 yes it was replaced
Bro just top it off Jesus
Is that what you do when you have a leak in your car tire 🛞?
Leak check fix leak and recharge . Save them some money new ac’s are terrible. If not properly installed
Thanks for commenting. The equipment is only as good as it is installed.

I hate that im on HVAC side of youtube now but since i am. Everyone should go see what type of refrigerant they have and order a cheap set of gauges. Then see what size capacitors your indoor fan and outdoor unit has and order one of each. So if it goes out you can swap it instead of waiting. I also recommend seeing what rating your contactor is and having one at your house. I mean just getting the capacitors and contactor will prolly keep your A/C running for years to come "But i dont wanta pay $30 for spare parts." Well go ahead and call a service tech and let them install one and see how much you pay😂 even if your not comfortable around stuff like this, just search it and 90% of the stuff you can find a video to walk you through. Then you can always call techs in if its too hard of a job. I just replaced our contactor few days ago. I can only imagine how much a service tech would have charged me. **before touching contactors look up a video and they will show how to discharge it so you dont get shocked "even with the power off"
Appreciate the comment. Information is valuable and knowledge is power
You haven’t been doing hvac that long have you lmao
This video is for new techs and homeowners. Simple
Doing it long enough. About to transition into sales and online marketing
Dumb
What is dumb ?
@Cogentappliances bruh, the video was you basically patting yourself on the back for working in a tight space and doing a job. Total clip bait. Think of it as constructive criticism. I'll bet you can make better content, but this one leaves the viewer feeling like man. Why did I waste my time? Really though, I've got no hate for anybody trying! Keep going, and you'll ger better.
Poped nice job bro I agree with you sometimes people are very stupid and need people like us 🎉

My water heaters never had no fan on top
Yes this is called a Power Vented Water Heater
How embarrassing
Yes I see a lot in the field some people don’t know the difference. 😂
Door handle puncture lol
Yes it is a poor install
How is it good 35 and 40 is 5 less. It's suppose to be 40 by 5
35 +5 = 40 5 for the fan it works I have done it a few times and then go back when in the area and replace with a 40 UF.
Ya I just thought it had to match the 40 but I think you're allowed 5 or 10 percent difference
Thats correct
You are giving the nuts and bolts and going granual. Great vid! Thank you@
Thanks for watching! I am happy you are getting value from this I will keep posting new videos. Please subscribe for more content.
Think from the customers' pov. . So many contractors don't do that. I experienced that with a recent home reno. The contractor put in a new sink and cabinet with a space between wall and counter that was not there previously. Was not thinking about how items would fall in between. Good workmanship sees the future needs of the client and service people who will follow you. Nice work!
I agree 100 percent
Awesome video by the way I have a big question for you I have a old hvac system call r22 I'm curious what type of HVAC system will you recommend that are affordable side we already have a 10 year furnace Rheem system they told me that I need to replace it but the Rheem furnace is working properly and fine during the winter months and hot days but the coolest system on top of the furnace is leaking underneath the furnace due to the cooler system drip pan is damaged and old wear and tear I would love to hear your opinion about this and your advice?? Honestly lm looking for a hvac system that can last more than 20 years at least 30 years like our old r22 did
Hello. Thanks for your comment. To be honest the manufacturers no longer make furnaces or Air conditioners that last that long. Rheem makes a great air conditioner. Have a professional hvac technician provide you with a quote based on the size of your furnace and ask them to provide you with warranty information before you install the unit
@@Cogentappliances I NEED THAT UMBRELLA. JUST PUT EVIRO-SAFE SEALER,DRYER,ARTIC AIR THREE COMBO IN A 40 YEAR OLD LENNOX PACKAGE SYSTEM. WANTING TO GET A EASY START SYS TO GET 40 MORE.
People who don't have a water softener, but have a mixing valve really confuse me.
Yes they just moved there and dont know any better. Do you see this alot where you live ?
@@Cogentappliances code required any house built after 2012 to have a mixing valve, and they are pushing to retrofit a mixing valve into all homes now. There is no such requirement for water softeners. The nobody really benefits from this, as generally poor folks don't have water softeners and they get stuck with a big bill to swap these mixing valves out more often.
Why mixing valves ? your shower mixes the water
@@johnanderson3746 we gotta idiot-proof everything here. But every time we try that, the world just puts out a better idiot.

As an hvac installer, love heating season . Hate A/C season. Although I need to lose some weight, nd the attic diet always works. Thanks for the post..
Yes AC season is a great way to lose weight. Who needs a sauna 🧖 when you have summertime attics 😂
Yes must be changed every 2-3 months
That's about as bad as the filter when I moved into this rental. Furnace ended up getting replaced by the owners.
Or cover the returns in the room(s) you're working in, and maybe even hang poly across the doorways/openings.
This happens alot more than it should I agree
Ppl who smoke in houses are gross, step outside and pay for your habit. Don’t care if you smoke, but don’t make everyone else suffer for your addiction.
Its really bad man i see this alot
Alectra Utilities calculates your electricity usuage. York Region Wastewater is what manages your water bill. The reading is taken outside of the house inside a small black box. Just so ya know
Thx Z 😊
Thanks for making videos like this really needed to hear this message fr
Cant give up got to make the most of everyday !!! Thanks for the comment. I will be posting more vids as time progresses
Install a dual fuel stat with a outdoor sensor like it should have had to start with. Then setup a appropriate balance point using the efficiency and capacity of the equipment install so to toggles between equipment depending on outdoor temperature .
Thanks the company i work with have installed many heat pumps like this. I will tell them to consider dual fuel stats with outdoor sensor
Pictures and number it .
Always Pictures, Videos and Numbers
The government know best have 10 jabs and spend your life savings on a disposable electric car
must have a mercury thermostat still. I put an electric one in a house that was 14 degrees, and the battery would die in 5 minutes, making everything turn off. It's fun tracing the problem with 5 minutes for each battery.
Wow they don’t make things like they used to
Definitely not
Your heat pump is probably using an older refrigerant. Even modern hot weather refrigerants still provide 3x the efficiency of a resistor heater at -20c. Cold weather refrigerants do better.
Thanks for responding we are using 410 A up here in Toronto
Auxiliary heat.
I live in south Louisiana where it's very humid mine will stop warning about 43° occasionally it will warm until the temperature is about 38 something to do with the humidity in the air
Wow thats humid !!! Yes humidity is a huge factor
That must either be an old heat pump, little to no insulation, or both
Both !!!
Not sure what year this model is, but I heat my house exclusively with 3 brand new ductless heat pump units. Just yesterday it was sub 1 degree Fahrenheit all evening through the night and the house never got below 70 Fahrenheit.
Mine don't work before 44, says on the manufacturers manual
I'm working on a furnace but the heat pump wasn't working what the fuck are you talking about dude what you're doing is the same thing as working on a toilet because the sink doesn't work
The heat pump is supposed to help the electric furnace keep up! Get natural gas😂
So in this case should the customer only turn up their thermostat in very gradual increments giving it 30 min breaks in between?
wasnt a bosh ISO?
Thats a gas or propane furnace not a heat pump
There are dual fuel heaters meaning there is a furnace that start working when outdoor temperature gets below the efficiency working temperature of a heat pump
Heat pump is outside. The natural gas auxiliary heating is inside
@@Cogentappliances interesting,i live in Texas and my trade is hvac we call those dual fuel and electric heaters on heat pumps called auxiliary heating , natural gas on heat pumps are super rare mainly we use electric heat , we design houses for cooling though
Heat pump do nothing below 10deg You need backup electric strip heaters or something really good a natural gas furnace!
Celsius or farenheit?
They don't do nothing, my heat pumps were able to keep up with most of my demand when it was -10 last week. But they were definitely less efficient, and I had to burn some propane to keep up with the cold.
alot people fail to tell you this when they making the 10 million dollar sale
I use the fire place. Really want one of those wood pellet heaters. They will roast your *ss in sub zero temps.
Agreed
Is it me. But isn’t that a gas furnace😮
This is a gas furnace. I had to turn off the heat pump setting because it was too cold outside -15C.
