This stuff is great. Their first albums were stuff of legend good. Bob Rock has ruined the Offspring sound with their last 3 albums.

Rats in the hallway sounds crazy compared to the finished version. It's like seriously... what the fuck is Matt saying?! Its got that late 80's suicidal tendencies thing going on. Matt didn't sing hardly anything on the other albums but backup vocals and Lets Go had a couple songs but damn, this old shit had him ripping bass and killing the vocals too. This shit doesn't sound like any punk I ve ever heard, really were original like that. They were not going to play any ska music at all after Operation Ivy, like they wanted to distance themselves completely.

Young Dexter has the best voice.

funny to see how they developed those songs later "i am the night" -> "night brings bad dreams, bad dreams...." etc ...lovely

I saw this band the first time performing at the "Pink Flamingo's" in Ghent during the "Gentsche Fieste" and I was blown away. Bought this CD and a signed single... And once I let my friends hear them we went several times to their live performances. Unluckily our friendship somehow ended - by marriage and kids and stuff - but my love for this album never did. Listening to The tunnel, Inspection no 5, I think I shot her, Minesweeper, Hully Gully Stomp, ... now, my whole youth just passed in front of me and I'm smiling. Thank you so much FFC !

To Hell & Take you = became Injury Opposition- Intro was used for Unwritten Rules and the chorus lyrics probably inspired 7 Years Down Inhalation- Post chorus breakdown was used for Unwritten Rules Institution- Has a verse that would end up on Black & Blue Moonlight- Intro ended up on Midnight Situation- Union Blood End Of The Line- The guitar solo sounds similar to the Hyena solo
