I'm not a vanilla guy, it's serviceable. I wasn't blown away buy it. If I was still doing grades, it's a solid 7. I think I need to start doing more chocolate reviews. I'm still regretting my Horchata purchase from Bucked Up.

I now buy the smaller tubs to see if it's good even if it cost a bit more

@@lauraleebaker7042 With meal replacements, the two things I look for are fiber for long term satiety and amount of protein per serving. I haven’t seen a “clean” or “all natural” meal replacements. The cleanest meal replacement that I’ve come across is MRE Lite. I’ve done a written review in the past and it scored poorly. Even though the ingredients are clean, my issue stems from the use of collagen. Collagen is not a great source for stimulating muscle growth. I share with all of my clients, focus on Whole Foods first, use supplements to fill in the gaps. Meal replacements are nice and convenient, then you come across issue like ingredient sourcing and price. Finally, you will feel better mentally if you EAT your food than drink it.

Great question. To be transparent, I've been slacking my fitness routine after receiving a DNF on a 50k race. So, fitness hasn't been at the top of my list these last 8 weeks. I've used non-stim pre-workouts to get in a late-night training session. Some have been ok, while others have been meh. I have been mulling over the idea of doing non-stim pre-workout reviews at this time, and due to time constraints, I'm just sticking with protein powder reviews. Sorry, I can't provide a direct answer. At least it's something.

@@hangzhou4333 I’ve been wanting to do a re-review and a 1st video on that product. However, it’s no longer available in the US. I know ON has a reputation for transparency with their gold standard whey. However, with their performance isolate, something is off and it’s too good of a deal. Gianbia is the parent company that supplies the whey for Isopure, Syntha 6, and Optimum Nutrition. I’ve done written review on 90% of Glanboa proteins, majority of them have some major transparency issues. Even though I don’t have a bag of Performance Isolate anymore, buyer beware. I’ll keep my eyes open and see if it becomes available stateside.

I'll mull it over. Here's why I'm not sold on making a 2024 top-10 list, I work full-time while trying to build this channel. It's challenging enough to research the protein powder, create a full review, film, and then edit. When I get monetized and make UA-cam a full-time thing, I'll revisit the notion. I've used Herbalife products in the past, and I firmly believe the listed ingredients on the package are not what you're ingesting. I've had horrible GI issues and skin issues using their products. My opinion on collagen products, I'm not a fan of them. When compared to nothing, collagen supplements may seem like an amazing product. However, when compared to protein, they are essentially a placebo. There's a lot of research on skin, hair, and joint health with collagen. Drinking water, watching your diet, managing stress, and enjoying life in moderation will do more wonders than collagen. If you're looking for recommendations, I suggest finding a collagen supplement certified by USDA Organic. Probably not the response you were looking for.

My main question was about which vanilla protein you would suggest, so after my herbalife product runs out, I can replace it with the suggested one. I read that one of the ingredients in the herbalife protein is maltodextrin, and I'm not sure how to feel about it.

@ depends on your budget and purpose. If you want something quality and transparent, offering great budget as a post workout: ISO 100. Versatility, ON Gold Standard Whey. If you want a great tasting flavor but is more of a meal replacement on a budget: Syntha 6. However, if you have a little bit more discretionary income, anything certified usda organic or truly grass fed. If you want my rec for best your money can buy: Pure Choice Farms. I mean I can go down a list of any protein powder. Do you like stevia? Do you want only certified natural ingredients (Z Natural Foods)? Want to build muscle? General health?

It totally depends on your budget. If you got money to spend, Pure Choice Farms or anything with the Truly Grass Fed Badge. On a budget, On Gold Standard or Dymatize. I’m trying to get more into more of the budget priced options in 2025.

It's okay. In my first written review, I gave it a score of 70%. There's a lot of marketing hype due to the higher amount of naturally occurring leucine in the product. However, when you examine the research and you want to build muscle, the dairy hierarchy of proteins is -slight edge to hydrolyzed whey isolate -isolate -concentrate -casein -slight edge to milk -finally, native whey If you want a protein powder that offers clean ingredients, ascent is a great budget priced protein. Hope this helps.

Surprisingly, the stevia flavor was quite tame. Then again, the peanut flour was borderline enough to mask the horribly stevia taste: serviceable flavoring!

Indeed, Pb fit comes in handy when I need to help with a flavor or when covering up a bad after taste.

Thanks for the request. I won't be able to get to it until 2025. I'll examine the standard and grass-fed versions. If you're in a position of a potential deal and wondering whether to purchase either or both protein powders, it's a hard pass on my grading scale. One of the protein lines claims to be "cold processed," yet digestive enzymes are used. Which means it's not 100% cold-processed whey. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of those brands that use 95% standard whey, blended with 5% grass fed whey. Hope this helps.

This is a great question, and the answer depends entirely on the company and the nitrogen components they use to artificially inflate protein content. For example, products like Optimum Nutrition Hydro Whey and PEScience include added BCAAs and Leucine in their protein powders, respectively. While these technically inflate the protein count per serving, research shows that such nitrogen-based ingredients can still create an anabolic response-but within a shorter window. In contrast, whole intact protein powders without amino spiking provide a longer anabolic window, offering sustained benefits. Here’s an analogy to simplify it: building muscle is like building a fire. If you want the warmth to last all night, you use kindling and dry wood (whole intact proteins). On the other hand, dumping gasoline on the fire (amino-spiked powders) will make it flare up fast but burn out quickly. With Bucked Up Original Feed, the lack of an amino acid profile leaves a lot of questions unanswered. However, based on their marketing, I don’t believe added BCAAs are being used to inflate the protein content. Here’s a list of nitrogen components commonly used to artificially inflate protein powders: glycine, taurine, creatine, arginine, glutamine, hydrolyzed collagen (or gelatin), lysine, and alanine. These components are inexpensive, making them attractive for cutting costs. However, none can truly stimulate muscle growth by opening the anabolic window. Creatine, for example, helps with ATP production, and collagen has been shown to support muscle growth to some extent. But compared to milk protein, collagen doesn’t even come close in effectiveness. @ Yhanks! So to narrow it down for me, I admit taste and having some fun with my protein is important to My wife and I both, if I am mixing most of the so-so powders with a cup of Fairlife skim, in your opinion will that make up for what may be lacking in these to make a pretty decent combo

@@Grumpyoldman666, using HP Skim Milk does change the profile and taste. Plus, as you shared, it can potentially offset amino-spiked proteins. Believe me, I love the taste of BSN Protein products. But I already know they are amino-spiked.
