If anyone remembers what 1998 Yamaha YZ125s were like…Dowd was holding back…and Reynard as an amateur was a way more dominant champion than Ricky Carmichael was…Ricky crashed out of a lotta races & championships…speaking as a retired professional motocross & supercross racer… if I were Ricky I’d have ridden into the pits & said to Chad (his mechanic at the time, Chad Watts) “Listen, I want the front sprocket 25% larger, I want the rear sprocket 30% smaller, I want a KX60 flywheel put in my bike so the drastically lower rotating mass inside the engine will make it feel like a KX250!!
Look at the crowds👌not that way nowadays from what I can tell…those were better times when things were changing SO fast in MX every week it seemed like. Great bikes…even to this day!
Is interesting to watch these videos now that James and Ricky are talking on podcasts. So cool to hear what they have to say about keeping up with each other!
Red flagging it was absolutely the right thing to do. The 2023 Nashville SX last weekend when Cooper Webb went down and was accidentally hit in the head by the #9 Kawi shouldve been red flagged as well. That was a shit judgement call by the promoters
I think that the AMA should most definitely bring back the premier class 500cc two stroke outdoor MX national championship again ! Absolutely loved racing these big bore monsters and even more watching the PRO'S do what amateurs could only dream of doing on them !
That was a good last race for RC4! I was there on the side of the whoops... Track definitely was chewed up. But they desimated the rest of the field... They were the only race on the track worth watching... kinda like watching two guys killin a video game for how much faster they were than everyone else out there! It was the passing of the torch that in 1993 McGrath took in Tampa SX and not real sure right now what race RC dethroned The King? But at least I was there for two passing of the torch supercross races... with the absolute best of the best ever before or ever will be after... TheRealJS7 earned his right of passage this race taking the torch from RC! Behind the scenes was TheReal259!
At fifty two years old when I watch these races on hardpack I can feel the pain of crashing my brains out. Thankfully I now ride much more controlled than I did at sixteen, but I'm still feeling the pain of those impacts.
Reed it was nice to get the hole shot? Dude you wasn’t the hole shot from what I saw. So discombobulated after the race he just had to win something 😂!!
You know what they say.. nice guys finish last - Other than James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael. Thank god these good guys were there to stop Mr. Jackass from being the best
Guys are so fast. Whew.

I forgot how badass that track was, and how grating Sam Posey’s commentary was. He could drone on forever without really saying anything important.

47s Man, so fast!
8:34 woah
Rick Johnson inspired Me to DANCE Awesome Spinning Like A Top, Nice
Crazy to think this tops his performance at Toronto in 2014. Coming from 14th to 1st.
Very good upload 👍 Thanks
i want the 30 sec board girl in my bed
Here because of RC4’s Instagram story calling out JS7
🦄 Dolt by John Rickel 🦄
no king no goat no 2 stroke = crap
mc can smoke these clowns.
8:08 James Stewart was a freakin artist on the bike!

Chad Reed was probably crying at the end. LOL
In the Moto world…..y’all have no idea this is like super epic….big….these races pave the way
Reed was a dirty rider.
So glad Alessi never win a pro title
Great comment about the annoying four strokes if you ever raced a 500 you would know why D.h

They should've started JS7 last every race; just show people the difference LOL
Stewart could outrun ricky!
Not sure what's more bad ass... racing 500's or racing 500's with those open face helmets!!
This track is tiny/narrow

Holding the sign swiveling her hips, this is what racing dirt bikes have come to. Sad
Reed really unsportsmanlike as always..
It was sad really
He made the other riders look slow. 💪

How narrow
Reed never had ANYTHING for James...FACT. That is reeds legacy.
Facts bro
At fifty two years old when I watch these races on hardpack I can feel the pain of crashing my brains out. Thankfully I now ride much more controlled than I did at sixteen, but I'm still feeling the pain of those impacts.
a comeback not talked about enough by js7
Thanks brother you take me back to a good time in my life I appreciate that
So smooth at neck breaking speeds!! The man was real good
Reed it was nice to get the hole shot? Dude you wasn’t the hole shot from what I saw. So discombobulated after the race he just had to win something 😂!!
*Why cut off the podium interviews?*
please upload more
Charismatic RJ is!
He was a great ambassador for the sport. Rick was smooth as glass with a mic in his face as he was on the track.
40 minute moto on a 110 degree day....not the smartest decision.
Fantastic era! Fantastic event! Fantastic riders! Love
El mejor de todos. James
js7 had checked out he was gone
You know what they say.. nice guys finish last - Other than James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael. Thank god these good guys were there to stop Mr. Jackass from being the best
Reed was always 3rd best when bubba and Rc on track he was 4th best when bubba dungey and villipoto was on the track god I hated reed
Was my TV really this fuzzy in 1991?
I guess Marty career was very near the end - I thought he told me 83...
Reed is a dirty rider stewart does it clean makes his look easy
