The legend of Aku Sika is an African folktale from Ghana which tells the story of a poor orphan child who because of her humility and good character got married to the king and despite the plot of her co-wife to disgrace her, got help from an unusual source that made her even more popular. #Africa #tales #folktales #Ghana #Story #storytime #Fireside

Why not speak Akan language
I’m very interested in Ghanaian culture. However, I’m not able to understand Akan or Twi yet. I thank her for speaking English for us who are not yet able to speak and understand Akan yet.
Beautiful story ❤️ thank you
Hello. Thank you for this wonderful story. I am doing a research paper, using your adaptation of the story. May I have your name for reference purposes and perhaps background on Nana'a African tales?
Never missed a jot of the story. Well done.
Mr Ananse chief of the trouble maker and the chief of the switch, doesn’t matter how they try Ananse always wins. Well done Ananse!
Thank u so much I start following u right away
Ooow, I love your storytelling approach, and we were taught songs about Togbui Agokoli in the 70s and 80s. Kudos! The ewe people who migrated to Togo have now increased the population, which makes 60% of Togo. Hence, many Ghanaians think that Togo mainly comprises Ewe's, 💯 wrong. There are other tribes. eg. The Kable, the Kotokoli and few others who are non ewe speakers. Which means they have their own dilect however some of them can speak the ewe.
Wow,I liked it 😂❤
medaase nana 🤲🏿💚
Thank you so much God bless you, please we need more from you.
Good video but I think the heading should be 'an' Asante Queen.
Well done
Wow I love hearing my beautiful story ❤❤❤
I like your presentation and composure but the story told sharply contradicts our history of migration as Ewes. Let me draw your attention to few facts. 1. The Ewes were not led by Torgbi Tsali. The man called Tsali was not part of the mass exodus let alone to lead them. 2. Torgbi Agorkoli was not a ruler of all Ewes, he was rather the ruler of Nortsi(one of the three kingdoms of the Ewes). 3. The figure you call Torgbi Tsali was probarly a young man in his teens and was never in position to give direction nor advice. I am open for detailed engagement on the subject matter to iron out the distortions.
thanks so much for the great feedback. would appreciate any online resources that would help with this.

We were told from the oral history that that, those bushy hairs were the Guans with dreadlocks.
Interesting one there. My husband is Guan... I should tell him about this.
Thanks for this information, i was just wondering who were those bushy hair people and thinking if the whole tribe was wiped out by the Fantes for their land.

My only sister, who also happens to be my loving mother's only daughter and the gold of five male siblings was born after mom had prayed to The Almighty God for a girl child for a very long time. She is also named Aku Shika due to her glowing beauty. "NAA AKU SHIKA" as we call her could not speak upon all her beauty. She had passed the stage at which my siblins and I started speaking or talking, mom would say in great worry anytime Shika made her usual sounds as though she was talking. Glory to GOD my Beautiful Sister Naa Aku Shika started speaking/talking at age four and that brought the whole family some great joy. She is now in her final year in the Senior High School. This story is similar to ours, though we have been favoured by The Almighty to have not come across any tragedies as AKU SIKA's. Thank you Nana and please do more of this! i loved it so much!
I just loved, loved, loved this comment! This is what we call living testimony. All the best to Naa Aku Shika in her final year of school. Please watch more from this channel at ua-cam.com/video/7ZnLb_HWzNc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/VzMfReUV5S8/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/ilxJHi7GCpU/v-deo.html
How did this story become akan?? Because the original story is Ga.
www.arcjournals.org/pdfs/ijsell/v10-i2/2.pdf details two versions of the Aku Sika story all Akan. I have no doubt that there is a Ga version and would appreciate your sharing any sources that would help me to ascertain the origin of Aku Sika. Thank you.
I honestly do not think Ananse the trickster is capable of change! Beautifully told story! Thanks ma'am.
