She then pioneered & blazed a trail in country pop, preparing the way for Shania Twain & others, when she shifted to crossover in 77, where she became a worldwide success. My bride of 56 years and I saw her in her younger prime years in Akron, Ohio at the Tangiers...she sang no more than ten feet from our table...what a stunningly beautiful lady she was, and her voice was from heaven!
Wow, I'd love to see these old concerts restored and made available on DVD and Blu-ray. I certainly would by them. Sadly, these old tapes don't look so good today, because the old NTSC and Pal format Broadcast standards were way different, and they don't translate well to the system with have now. Plus they are full of drop-outs, skew and static.
This is awesome. All the songs, all the performances are awesome. Let's see, I was 11 years old in 1977 and already hopelessly in love with her! "Sigh".
Wow, this is a fabulous collection of earlier live performances. So deeply Country. Amazing how her voice changed, but always so incredibly powerful with awesome range.
