Nash Metropolitan Trafficator Removal
My apologies for the noise in this video. First time to try out my GoPro for this purpose. This is a basic video of removing the trafficator from a Nash Metropolitan. There is one mistake on the horn contact portion. There is a nut on one of the screws that holds the contact assembly together but there is a nut that has to be removed to take the trafficator apart. There is one that the nut alone has to be removed in order to take it apart. One of the screws that hold the unit together also has the ground for the horn attached to it. Also here are links for the the items discussed in the video. Home Depot had carried the wire marker tape. Below is a cheaper one I found. A search on eBay actually netted the best prices.
Here is the link to the disassembly document. It is for an Austin but it is very similar. The Met horn button is removed by removing 3 screws in the outer bezel verses popping the button off as shown in the document. Other than that its pretty much the same.

This is the FM1488 bypass that is being built. It gives an idea just how close to the farm it will be when complete. DJI450 with GoPro (No gimbal which is why its a bit shakey).
Smart key certification ECU unlock procedure

This is an older video of how to unlock a locked up certification ECU on a Toyota Smart Key system. Although it was done using the old TDT it can still be done with a techstream .

Car: lexus ES350 2008 Programmer KM100 (ignore the photo) had a working key but a tech after not being able to add key rest the ecu after which even the programmed key went out of programming (of course) Issue is when we touch the key to start button it beeps once only and transponder is authenticated but remote doesn’t Any suggestions? used XM38 as well as OEM keys Tried autel and autopropad and smart pro same issue.
Smart key car? It took immobilizer but not keyless entry. Did keyless entry work prior to tech performing key reset. If keyless entry wasn’t working then that would have to be fixed in order to program the key. Also if locksmith programmed a key at some point, sometimes their software damages the utility that allows factory scan tool to program a key.

If the tech reset it and is it’s trying to add the keys back it won’t work. In Techstream there is a choice of “replaced certification ECU and immobilizer ECU”. Usually that gets the system to take the keys. Not sure if the after market tools have that function. I would guess it would but not positive. I’ve never used anything to program keys other than Techstream.
@@billn5059 basically a guy checked out the car and said the ecu is wiped and no backup exists for it so the car is immobilised right now. With 0 keys programmed.
@@billn5059 I think on some Toyota Lexus models ecu reset is disabled. You can disable but you need authorisation passcode to add master keys back to it.

I need help! I have 2007 Camry Hybrid bought off auction with no key. Bought key from dealer and the car reads the key but unable to program it the dealer has also replaced the smart key ecu no luck. The car now sets its alarm off and instantly locks the doors battery is good and so are fuses. At a dead end rn
So sounds like the keyless entry may have programmed but the immobilizer part didn't. If the door was slim jimed open that may explain why the alarm is going off. Do you have a key for the door. If so unlock the door with the key to disable the alarm. The system will not allow you to program a key if the alarm is set.
I do not have the physical key! The door kept being opened with the lock out wedge and rod,I’ll get a key and try again and disarm the system . Thanks for your feedback!
@@billn5059 good evening , I have acquired the physical key the system is now disarmed, now it will give one chirp and that’s it , the scanner states the programming has failed immediately .
So if you press the lock button you get a beep but nothing if you unlock it. Also what are you using to try and program it. Also if you have the driver door open too long the immobilizer will shut down. So easiest way to avoid that is while your connecting to the car have someone cycle the door courtesy switch at 1 second intervals. Once you get to where you put the transmitter up to the start button they can quit cycling the switch.
@@billn5059 the one chirp it gives is when it attempts to program the key (place fob with logo down…) the scanner (Autel Maxisys908s with j2534 VCI) immediately states it failed and the buttons on remote do not get programmed
Hello Bill... I have this issue.... any advice? 2009 Lexus GS350 Immobilizer issue. Hello everyone I really need help on this please... 2009 GS350 from an auction with “NO KEY”. I reset (via techstream) the car immobilizer due to “all key lost situation”... All reset process was perfect and done... (all dash light up as it is supposed to act when you reset the immobilizer to add a new key) but at the moment to register a new smart key code fob, I had a car battery issue loosing power and was not able to add the new key. I disconnected the battery to recharge and then I put it back later to continue the process, but this time the dash is not coming ON, when I push the start button nothing happens, only the door light is on on the dash but nothing else. I attempted to reset the immobilizer again but keeps failing after reset code is entered. The security light keeps flashing all the time... I disconnected all horns previously. Work done: Check all fuses in the 5 places in the car and all are ok... not blown fuses at all. The big fusible link is also intact, not blown. Immobilizer module was replaced (Anti Theft Locking Immobilizer Control Module Manufacture Part Number : 89784-30011) but nothing changes... red security light keeps blinking all the time. PUSH BUTTON “Engine STAR STOP” lights up when driver door is open but the amber light is not ON... nothing happens when I depress the pedal brake... no green or amber light. Inside lights works ok and seats have power, turning the metal key on drivers door lock and unlock the doors and also open all windows and sunroof when hold it to the open position. What other test or check I need to perform? Could be a main ECU issue? Thanks for your help!
Since the reset was successful the system is unlocked which is why it won’t allow you to try and reset it again. Have someone cycle the door courtesy switch at 1 sec intervals while you go into the smart key to program the key fob. Make sure no keys are in the car. When you get to the programming portion tell it you replaced the ID code box and certification ECU and try to program the keys. I assume that your using new keys as many times keys off eBay or used are not unlocked.
I have 2018 rx350 I’m working on,same issue and I can’t get the immo smart key ecu,it keeps failing and I’m lost

Do you know how I can get into my 2007 Camry Hybrid smart key system and get keys made? I've hooked up a mini vci and accompanied software but it keeps asking for vehicle configuration code. thanks
Sorry for the delayed response and I hope you were able to get keys made. I am assuming you were programming keys to the car. I have not used the mini VCI to reset the system so I am not familiar with its function. The only way I have programmed keys or reset the system is using Toyota Techstream software.

Tom Knud Techstream software can be obtained from Toyota but there is a subscription charge for it. I’m not sure of another way to get access to the full features of it.
