TIMESLICE EFFECT in After Effects | EASY TUTORIAL
Learn how to create mesmerizing Timeslice effects in After Effects with this easy-to-follow tutorial & how to automate this process with chatGPT and the Adobe Scripting Language.
Here is the chatGPT prompt I used to create the script: "create an after effects script as .jsx file which i can download. the script should create nine copies of the the selected layer. shift each new copy +25 frames. the first copy 25 frames, the second 50 frames and so on. for each new copy add a mask which covers 10% of the width of the composition. the mask on the first copy should cover 10%-20% starting at the left, the second copy 20%-30% and so on. to every new copy assign the lowest layer number so it will be on top."

Wow that worked truly great, need to try it
Yeah it’s pretty easy to automate this process. Saving so much time 😍

Cool!
It looks absolutely incredible.❤
thank you so much!
❤❤❤❤
✌️✌️✌️
Thank you so much brother ❤❤❤
Sure thing!
nice tutorial
Thank you! I hope it was usefull for you :)
Why when i create a mask, it's not have black as your video. I don't know what to do :(( please someone explain it for me 😢
Make sure the correct mask method is selected. Should be subtract. Or maybe a copy of the code is below the one you are masking?
@berlinlapse oh thank you. I did it.
@@qq_darie Awesome! Where can I see your result? 😃
@@berlinlapse what is your instagram? I will tag you when I'm done my project 😁

Hi Felix. Thanks for your tutorial. When I upload PNGs to PS the color of each frame changes slightly. Do you know how to fix this?
I think this is when there is no color profile in the file and Photoshop assigns one automatically. Should be somewhere in the import settings I think.
amazing effort.
Cheers 🙌
Thanks man. Awesome
Sure thing!
Very Helpfull
Glad you like it!
hello. im teacher and teach aftereffects in highschool. is it possible to me have footage you use in this tutorial so that i can teach them?
Hey! Can you send me a mail with some more info please :)
@@berlinlapse sure
Wow Amazing city Big and so interesting Great
Absolutely 🙌
How did you do first Timelapse video?
It is a photo Hyperlapse!
Amazing city
It really is!
Insane work. Can you briefly explain how you do the directionnal blur except the tower? It's with an adjustement layer?
Hey 👋 I just used a mask to apply the blur to the foreground
Wie kommt man an so einer tollen musikalischen Umsetzung .??
Hab ich auf Artlist gefunden den Song! 😄
Step 1, get a 360 cam and just walk around, enjoy the sceneries.
That’s absolutely true! a real photo Hyperlapse still looks and feels a lot different.
Lovely thanks
Sure thing! Hope this helped to create a great animation!
I have a question Do you use a tripod a lot when shooting Hyperlapse?
I would say I use a tripod in 90% of the cases when I shoot a Hyperlapse.
i like it, nice work!
Thank you!
why i cant mask with pen tool? always be using rotoscope😓
Sure you can use the pen tool!
@@berlinlapse It seems to me that I expressed myself incorrectly, when I highlight with a pen tool nothing happens, but when I use a rotoscope everything is fine
Oh I see. That’s weird. Maybe the mask mode is wrong? You can check if it’s set to „none“. It should be add or subtract.
@@berlinlapse where can I check and fix this?
@@nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn7 If you select a layer and use the shortcut M it will bring up the mask. To the right of Mask it should say either Add or Subtract, depending on the masking
Doing it right is not doing it easy. Well done.
Especially when it comes to Hyperlapse!
thanks! The effect where windows move and patterns rotate, how is it done? Is it done with the same logic too?
Thank you too! Do you have a link to the effect you mentioned? Not sure which one you have seen.
Do you put the gimbal in a certain mode (PF, PTF)? What’s the center piece that locks the gimbal in? Thanks for the tips!
I usually lock the Gimbal and use the joystick at a low sensitivity for fine adjustments. The piece is a Manfrotto MOVE Quick Release, really awesome to change between regular tripod head & gimbal. Sure thing!
Do you go longer than 0.5s shutter when using the tripod-gimbal combo?
@@MihaiNeacsu no. 0.5s is usually the longest I go with a 16mm lens.
@@MihaiNeacsu with my current Webill S no. That´s the maximum where I can be save to get sharp images.
how do you that on 02_masking? do you copy or how you transfer in to another sequence
It´s just the same sequence as before but after all of the masking, so you do not have to watch me mask / adjust everything. So keep working in the first composition and create different layers/masks for the different parts of the building. Let me know if you need more info!
that's so much efforts.
Quite a bit 😅
Your hyperlapses are phenomenal, and this video to help to create a hyperlapse using Photoshop (opportunity for those who don't have access to Premiere) is really good, thank you! But I'm not able to reach the end, unfortunately. Until the part about exporting and importing layers is ok, but then viewing the video and rendering doesn't work... I noticed that if I ask to render, the "Adobe Media Encoder" option it is not accessible, only the "Photoshop Image Sequence", and then no video... Is it a limitation because I have the most current version of Photoshop, but the version for photographers? Thanks!
That’s actually I good question. I will take a look into this and see if it’s only available if you have to full Creative Cloud (which would be a pain). Thanks for letting me know!
@@berlinlapse Thank you again! But don't worry too much. Yours video tutorial is very good and I think it highlights the importance of being careful when taking photos to make a hyperlapse, and in practice the import and export technique that I didn't know about layers in Photoshop is a great help. For learning and testing, it´s possible to complete the video (using these layers exported into files later) in another amateur-free video editor, such as cap cut, etc. Thanks again!

I love taking incredible photos and I appreciate your effort that's an amazing idea.
Thanks!
Appreciate the work you put into these.
Sure thing 👍
amazing shot! 😎
Thank you!
🔥
🤙
Sorry but this is quiet Crappy bullshit. Just Need a DSLR and a 50mm to Start and over the years you can add everything. You dont Need to have this things to be a good photographer.
I would also add a NAS, it's helped me so much over the last few years. Great video
Absolutely agree!

@@berlinlapse Haven't tried it yet but after watching it, I believe it's doable! I appreciate you sharing this!
Sounds great 👍

Working on it!
Cool tip, haven't seen this one before
Yeah super easy & it can make the lapse look so much nicer
vip pro 😍
:D
Great job bro it’s looks perfect thanks a lot
Thanks a lot!
Worth the insane amount of effort
I am happy to hear that!
That's insane
Quite a bit of work 😅
This is so cool dude!!!
Thank you!
Fascinating idea! I wonder if you could expand on that idea by adding another set of elevated perspectives. So your set of photos + another set of photos done from roofs
Yes I was thinking about that too. Roofs, drone or even one where I am like 5 kilometers away 👌
This is so sick!
Thank you
Great content, I just subscribed! Next time you could add 2-5 shots around the main one for a "realistic" motion blur if you want.
What do you mean by the main one? 🧐
😍How long did that take?🤔😃
Walking took me two hours
Nice job ❤
Thanks!
