My partner died on 21st January 2024 he was 58 and my best friend. After a heart attack, it was discovered he had heart failure, stage 4, he was gone within 16 weeks. In 2010 I bought a purple wisteria, and planted it against a wall, for 14 years I have waited for it to bloom. Nothing ever came from it, just masses and masses of leaves, never any blooms, I cursed it, threatening every autumn to chop it down, telling it as much...... Tonight I came home thinking I need to prune the damn thing, as already it is getting out of hand and its only May, and especially as I didn't have time or energy to prune it last summer as I was looking after my partner.... Anyway, I was looking over it thinking where to cut it back and tidy it up, and as I looked up I saw a flower, just one, a single solitary purple bloom at the very very top just peeping over, , I couldn't believe my eyes ....I had to look again, I keep going out and looking at it now....14 years of nothing, nish, sweet FA, and she bloomed the year my Tom left me and his son, and passed over ....unbelievable, he sent me a wisteria flower... I keep crying .....x
