Nice work on the podcast!
Thank you for this discussion at the onset of a longer series!
I really don't see the problem with Drow Elves to be perfectly honest
I am not even half way through yet and I feel the need to make two points. First, I have been playing since 1st edition and can remember the supplement guides in 2nd edition regarding many subjects and Drow was one of them. I thought these were priceless and still use them today. Second, as a white male in my 50's, I would welcome any person that wants to play the game, just so that I could play again and because I have always found that the more different the players the better the game.
Quick edit...or addition..as I continue to listen. My wife is Filipina and to add to one point, most women in Asia feel that they need to be as white as possible to be beautiful and that is absurd to me...
Thanks for posting! I’ve introduced “first blood” duels with my players utilizing 1d20 test with a situational bonus of advantage on the roll if someone plays dirty or distracts the opponent… saves a lot of time at the table. Just flavor it narratively!
Thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting!
“The real treasure is the undead we made along the way.” 💡@34:42
Yes I want that now!
You could make an Annis Hag that is the local leather worker and her wares are very popular
Speaking on behalf of the Internet; Yes Megan, we get the Clue reference.
Let's go! It's out! Woohoo!!!!
57:31 make the boat race like the Wacky Olympics where the other vampirates are interfering in different spots along the course
lol But what if they complete the course in under 12 parsecs?
Thanks for the timely inspiration!
Playing a soulknife bladesinger Warforged right now modeled after the Steel Predator and Ravage… For the algorithm.
Slaadi are litty
Nice work on the podcast!
Thank you!
1:35:31 can’t throw a bone because the Slithering Tracker has it trying to rebuild a body
OOOO
Nice work on the episode!
*shlurrp*
Be prepared for players trying to collect some of the remnants of the ooze
And then forget about it on their character sheet for 8 months...
3 minutes ago? I am speed
My introduction to vampires was watching the lost boys on VHS, when I was way to young for it. Also CRY LITTLE SISTER is a great song.
Thanks I'm trying to use the specter of night but couldn't find anything about them. I thought it was the scythe guy not the stuff behind him
Glad we could help! We love the obscure monsters!
Great episode! Really enjoyed it.
The party stumbles upon a time dragon in the middle of a soulful rendition of Cher's "If I could Turn Back Time' while searching the lair, everyone feels awkward lol
Nice work on the podcast!
Thank you!
Definitely prefer the combat and social in the l5r 5e.
I'd agree to disagree. Playing the beta when it was being tested, and then the full version after it came out, I found the strife and success system to be a little too busy. Yes, it let's characters feel usefull in more situations and gives non combat characters a place in combat, but in many ways that isint what L5R is about. That said, it may juat be my bias and familiarity with 4th talking. There are a few things from 5th that I would have loved to cannibalize given the chance.
@TheCrimsonSky If you get a chance, give it another swing. I haven't noticed it being any more busy than 4th, but 5th does flow a lot quicker both in combat and social checks. (Except when you have unprepared players who don't know what they want to do with their opportunity rolls, but unprepared players are the bane of any rpg) 5th manages to be easier to run, but doesn't sacrifice any of the tension, lethality, or roleplaying that makes every version of L5R a joy to play.
L5r 5e is amazing. Even the combat and magic are enjoyable, cant say that for l5r 4e.
Love this series!
It loves you too!
I just found this chanel of thine and im really glad for it. Its really fun to hearing thee.
Thank you, good sir!
Ew David
You have no f*****g idea how clutch this is lmao
Thank you guys! Not much out there on large caravans, well done and good inspiration!
I’m imagining on the a water plane an encounter area that is this sailing ship that just whirles around and around the ginormous air bubble it is trapped in…
The Platinum Greatwyrm episodes always slap
Soooo, a Jabbawocky born into an existence of pain is kind of a hyper-violent Meeseeks.
Look at me!
I'm not sure, but I think your video got muted.
Nope, my mistake. Something partially unplugged my headphones. You're good.
@@2o7o7dragon lol Thanks for the update! I was ready to troubleshoot.
Great show, guys! I am beginning research into a campaign centered entirely around the elemental planes, and this was a really inspiration-filled place to start...thank you so much!!!! Just subbed. ❤
Thanks so much! We love knowing when we've helped inspire Dungeon Masters!
Oh man, aaaaall the sewer campaigns......
I think one could still have all the different random encounters and terrains in an urban campaign. A mega city could encompass all the different potentials, and smaller city's could easily have a couple terrain types etcetera. I grew up in the country, have lived in major city's, and many different terrains. A village encounter could translate as a neighborhood, borough, or ethinic territory, or gang or political stronghold (or toe-hold if tenuous?). I've seen city culverts and drainage ditches and fresh water channels and canals the size of rivers. Desert wastes? Sure! Tropic Jungle? Check out parts of San Antonio lol. Jus' sharing random ideas. Love you guys! Y'all are the best 🤘
I happen to be running these right now last game and next game. Thanks for all the ideas!!
Check out today's episode, too, where we cover the rest of them!
Vampiric mist could make for an interesting backstory for a vampire NPC that had their coffin smuggled from their lair, left to wander a swamp struggling to keep their sanity despite their new gaseous form.
Cosmic Horror, while it has its place and I happily acknowledge that many love it, has never really done anything for me. That said, it's always fun to hear people who are passionate about something discuss that thing. Good episode guys.
Thank you! We love rambling on and on about it (obviously), but we also love hearing about other people's favourite genres, too! What's you favourite ttrpg story genre?
Some of my absolute favorite creatures!
For creatures without art look up their card art.
This is a great tip!
I think we have snaky dragons, at least in previous editions. the Linnorms.
I haven't seen any in 5th Edition, but with a new Monster Manual coming out next year, there's a small chance of more legacy creatures.
Been doing my chult campaign for a while now. I have a tribe of lizardfolk uncovering yuan ti secrets to releasing dendar. The end has them time traveling to the ancient sarruk empire to alter the creation of yuan ti making them good, or stopping there creation all together
Love L5R but never played it. Thinking of DMing for a group of fellow newbies. Although we have alm read the l5r clan novels, our collective experience is limited to 5e. Is it possible to “adapt” one of the L5R modules to 5e rules? If not (or alternatively) is there a L5R adventure that you would recommend a group like ours begin with?
