Excellent ! Holly RN
This was so helpful, thank you so much!
very helpful thank you so much but i dont know how to get to the next one
Excellent Explanation. Was searching for this clear stuff for a long time.
I had a major accident and am paralyzed to the right leg, I have bladder retention and according to two scans, there is always 280-300cc left in the bladder. The paralysis was due to a squished nerve in my lower back. My last scan was today, same thing. I should send my urologist this video
AFFECT, not effect
When is video on treatments for bladder available?
Hey my niece by default born has issue we are doing every 4 hour we are doing cic treatment but is it necessary surgery and what’s consequences before and after surgery please let me know asap
Good vid. I got a back injury a few weeks back. For some days now, I've been guessing when to urinate since I'm not getting the nerve signals to do so. Wonder if that heals on its own.
This was amazing!! I was so lost with all of this!
Perfect ❤
Thank you so much.

Hello prof...am from Ethiopia..I am tetraplegic from C6 complete spinal cord injury with supra sacral neurogenic bladder for 5 years...I have indwelling transurethral catheter...Chronic UTI(poly antimicrobial resistant) is a constant battle.......Intermittent catheterization is not an option here....Am planning on having suprapubic cystostomy...I have both Epidural & sacral stimulators placed 2 years ago in India... Any advice on how to further manage my raging UTI..
Amazing explanation. It's very Useful for my urology residency exams.
Thank you sooooo much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sem problem me ser
Perfect explanation, short - clear and concisely.
Bro it's "AFFECT THE BLADDER" NOT "EFFECT THE BLADDER" really doctor?
Thank you so much Dr.
Great 👍
Very good explanation
I could use some help. I had a Durel Tear...
I lost my ability to urinate on my own due to Durel Tear. I had surgery in September and now it's February and I still don't have control...
Excellent explanation indeed in this video.
Thank you very much for a very thorough explanation. I had my Bladder removed and a Stoma put in. Big change in life but I am still alive. Best regards.
Excellent video!!! Loved the explanation! i have a question, in the case of of sacral spinal cord injury, from what i understand according to this video, that the injury interrupts the bladder reflex-meaning if urine fills & fills no sensation & no contraction can be felt nor occur. This results in bladder holding lots of urine without the urgency sensation. No detrusor contraction or diminished causing flaccid bladder & stress incontinence occurs. If the urine is also retained in this case, why are there no high bladder pressure or hydronephrosis like the suprasacral SCI? is it just bcs of weak bladder& sphincters? I hope im making sense.
This was really excellent 👍!, Thanks for explaining it so simply.Take care.
D5 d6 d7 complete Injury recovery possible
I am 27 and have spastic diplegia CP and I was wondering if urinary urgency is also neurogenic bladder because I've only heard of bladder retention
I think I have the same problem
Thank you very informative.!
Sir, I'm a paraplegic patient, since 1999,due to spinal injury at D3 section and running 67+yrs. now. I often suffer from catheter block ,UTI& Hematuria . Pl.assure me how I can be survived from these ,
Is it recoverable the sensation?
My dad pees himself
And 💩
Pushing pee
Hello! I hope my answer is not disrrspectful... I know this video refers to people and it's not easy at all to live with it. Now I'm genuinely worried about my male cat who had spinal cord injury back in March 2020 and now is missing. I emptied his bladder manually every single day until Nov 3rd 2021 (and it was usually really full, few times not - maybe he drank less water). Then he got lost this week. I'm not sure if he can pee on his own and I'm worried the bladder might burst if nobody is there to help him. It's not written on him he has this condition. Is there a hope he can empty the bladder on his own now, 1 year 7 months after the injury? Around the time 7:00 in this video, there was something about reflexes coming back after longer time (he can walk and poop on his own, btw). What are the chances of him being still alive 4 days on his own with this condition?? (if I suppose he gets food and water somewhere...) It would be horrible to die in pain from this condition...
The injury is about 2/3 down to his tail. Also his tail had to be amputated (one half of it), as it was too long and he just dragged it behind him
Great explanation , but how to cure it
Excellent
Only sacral nerves innervates the bladder? What about the sympathetic innervation (T11 to L2)? They don't have any role in these injuries?? Pls explain.
None
Feel like crying
I had a disc extrusion and sequestration at L5S1 and aside from causing excruciating pain and loss of the ability to walk, I also lost the ability to urinate during that time. I had a microdiscectomy and laminectomy but the weakness and pain in my leg never went away and I was left with urinary retention. . Now I get UTI’s frequently - about 4 a year.
Do you have a catheter ? I have urine retention. I've been using intermittent catheters for 8 years. No infections. No medications. No surgery. Absolute relief , Regular and predictable bathroom breaks.
I always feel like i have to pee. Its as if i constantly feel it filling. Mris did show i have 2 bulging discs next to each other in my cervical spine. My neuro didnt think much of it but a chiropractor wanted to fix it. Is it possible this could be causing bladder issues?
I also have the same issue.Today I under gone a ultra sound test in bladder.no any major findings.I also have back pain related to disc bulging.I think my nerves are damaged.pleae kindly let me know if you got any kind of succesful treatment.
I have stenosis of the lumbar and now have lots of issues with burning without infection
Professor... "affect" not "effect" (in the title)
Wooooow 🔥🔥
Very helpful
Thank you, finally I understand this topic <3
Can a epidural steroid injection cause this spinal injury ? CAUDA EQUINA SYNDROME AFTER EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTION ??
Sir which nerve involve in initiation of micturation?
Interesting vid, Doc. Thanks for showing up in my recommended.
