Looks like you traveled by bus. Usually people rent a car in Jeju, but traveling by bus must have its own merit like being not in a rush and watching out the window while in a bus. I should probably give it a try next time!

I would look at some other apartments if I'm not in a rush. I'm also split between the first and second one. But considering kids are still young, I would choose the first one if I had to because I would not give up the openness and sunlight^^. But again, if you're not gonna regret, I suggest you go for another apartment hunting!

I would not even consider #1.Since it will be a place you will be in for a long time, your boys are growing, and while they can share a room at this age, there will be a time in a couple more years where they will need and want more space for themselves and privacy from each other. Good luck. Edit: You can add mirrors to the walls to bounce off light to make rooms brighter and give the illusion of room being larger as well.
