Long distance relationships..

Ive been doing long distance with my girlfriend for almost 3 years. This means majority of our relationship has been in long distance. The first year together she was staying in my country. I hope this can inspire others to make it work.

icl I would love to get on a call with you, Im from the UK btw, reply to the comment if thats a shout for you
I think the most important aspect of a long distance relationship is communication, as it’s really the only way you can interact with them. I recently ended a 4-month relationship with someone from Germany. Being from Australia, the 8-hour time difference was already pretty hard, with daylight savings increasing it to 10. She was also getting busy with school so we were slowly drifting apart, less texting/calling and interaction overall. I realised how much of a burden I was becoming due to how I couldn’t keep up with her sometimes, and there would be days where I really just wanted to be alone. I ended the relationship and she chose not to stay as friends anymore, after which we completely cut each other off our lives. While we did find several ways of interacting, such as initially being pen pals before starting a relationship, sending gifts, playing games together etc., at the end of the day it’s still a long distance relationship. It’s very difficult to maintain if you can’t physically meet up or have plans to. At the end of the day, it’s still a form of relationship. If you can make it work then it will work. I was recommended some of your videos from the algorithm and have found some to be very helpful, especially since I still haven’t really moved on. So thank you, even if you have a small audience, some of your advice still speaks out to people like me.
I’m a 20f from the uk. I understand how you feel, I always feel burnt out and overwhelmed with everything. I’d say get off social media, I find I get so addicted to content and I think that makes me more depressed and I don’t want to do anything. What you’re saying is so relatable I’m glad you’re speaking about it. I wish you the best :)

@ amazing that’s a really positive step forward that you’ve made the choice to step back from it, most people don’t even have the self awareness to realize they’re addicted. If we keep it up, we will be happier and more productive. Thank you 🙂

53 unemployed single living with my parents, I am a failure
how would you advise a single guy to actually find a long distance girlfriend.
Honestly I wouldn't advise anyone to find a long distance girlfriend. Life would be easier for me if I didn't have to do long distance but it's just the way it had to be. Although if there is a reason then the best way to get one would just be doing overseas experiences. I'm sure if you spent a lot of time in some foreign countries you would be able to find some nice girls. Another way and which the way I did was if you are in high school there are always exchange students but again haha I don't know if its something you should actively look for. Best of luck for everything bro!
Damn bro you’re killing it, keep up the consistency
Thanks bro I appreciate the support, I actually think I should be doing a lot more 😂. Hope everything's well with you bro keep up the good work
I am 22 this is what I think, heres my lessons learned: Feeling like a failure is a disease caused by not meeting the expectations of a group of people and it comes out of comparison to others also. Everyones got thier own life and choices and wants. Nobody is beholden to the expectations of others we are free to live. Success is stupid do what you want. Not even the rich lambo success living in dubai level rich you see online, i mean even the success your school told you was a win If you enjoy drinking water every day or eating a pop tart or smelling fresh air, like thats your best thing you love, thats enough Ideals are fucking stupid, and chasing them wont make you feel any different after its over. Itll only cover one insecurity you were sold, only for you to realize you couldve never cared and just moved on with your life. Theres nobody you have to be and nothing you have to do, let go of all of it. Let go of the outcome you could potentially get from the idealized success that people have sold to you that you "must become" and "realize your potential" If it stresses you and harms you this much, do you even want it? What youll be left with eventually is openness to everyday, like a child all over again before all your conditioning of this made up narrative school taught you, the intetnet taught you, social life taught you etc. You will be able to see the world clearly like seeing it for the first time. Fuck everybodys expectations. Most will backstab you when you dont align with how they want you to be anyway. Be authentic instead of caring what other people think. The fake people will fall away and the real ones will stay and be with you. Dont sacrifice your real honest authentic self for an attachment to people that was never really there in the first place, because the moment youre real they hate you. I think every life goal society places on you that you feel anxiety to persue that you never actually cared about is overrated garbage with no soul. Gain, material items, status, and ideals are the devil. Emotions, love, care no matter what no matter what that person does, loves and is like is really what matters. Meaningful people and connections that you love matter, authenticity matters.
just get to work bro I wish I lived in Australia or NZ, from the UK.
Hello William. I recently turned 22 this October. I moved out to study at a top-tier University but I failed 2nd year (2023-2024). I was given a chance to resit that year but due to financial issues, of moving out and paying rent and utility bills and family issues I decided to stay in London back home. My parents and siblings eventually persuaded me to study at a London University. Just to fill you in, I failed 2nd year of my previous Uni , primarily cuz I was procrastinating (due to the said things in your video e.g. porn and jerking off) and complacency. Also, after realising the bad academic impact these said things had on me, I then focused my energy into study again. But I was studying things totally irrelevant to my course. Currently, I am in London at a lower-standard uni. But I feel like a failure cuz people my age graduated at top universities and getting jobs. Infact, I felt quite upset on my situation even more, since recently my cousin who is 3 years younger than me got a place at University of Oxford to study medicine. I have things I want to do outside of my life, e.g. I want to get work experience at a pharmacy or get a part-time teaching Assistant job, learn more about plumbing and fixing bicycles, learn to drive (which I haven't still started) and learning more about car mechanics. AND YES, I also want to learn, complete and submit mu Uni assignments and coursework- that is paramount to me. I want to find a way to earn money for myself and also cuz me and my family are bound to get evicted from the house we were living by the Landlord. . Also, I want to learn more about the topics, Physical Chemistry and Mathematics. These are subjects which I spent my energy instead of completing and submitting my 2nd year Uni assignments, which what ultimately led me to fail (along with bad antics e.g. porn etc), 2nd year uni at my previous uni. However, I want to find a way to make time for these subjects and other things e.g. plumbing etc, and build myself up. Thank you for reading and I appreciate how this may be very unusual case.
Hey man, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I think the issue with society these days is everyone seems to be in a race to compare with each other and due to social media this has been exasperated. Everyone takes their own time to achieve things. Just because someone is younger than you doing something that may seem better doesn't mean their life is any better. Your life is ultimately what you want to do and comparing to others won't make yours any better. I think everything happens for a reason and one day you will find yourself in a situation where you are happy and you will have realised it was for a reason. So don't let anyone else affect how you live and just live true to your heart. I wish you the best my friend and good luck on your endeavours.
@@willlhutchinson Thank you for your response. It was the clear answer I needed. Yours Sincerely, Sengoku.

How did you get into the electrical field?
My mate recommended it and I didn't have too many options so I just gave it a go
im 27 now, when I was 21 I was in college going to school for electrical engineering and I hated it. I went into it very passionate and I took many classes, and was acing the labs. everything hands on I loved it. but I didnt do so well on the exams. I didnt do so well on studying. social media, girls, and being top of my class all my life with almost no effort prior other than the minimum was to my detriment but the key is truly just to give up even when there is no light at the end of the tunnel to be seen. its so easy to spiral and get avalanched with thoughts like "well if I dont graduate sum cum loade then no one will hire me!" "what if I dont get my dream job!" "what if I graduate later than all my friends/peers" idk if youre religious or not, but it doesnt matter. all I will say is that what you believe is what will happen usually. so best to take things positively and not to ever give up. I couldn't give up or else my parents would kill me for wasting time and money all because for the first time in my life I had to seriously study for every single class and not just one. I graduated on time after MANY failures ( I tried to graduate faster and crashed and burned taking classes, and then had to retake them. some I had to retake up to 4 times. not kidding) its honestly a miracle I graduated with the reqs at all. if you cant get off social media, clean it up. reshape it. its very powerful when you start to water the grass that needs it. follow people who do what you want to do on whatever platform. dont be afraid to even reach out to them. you'd be surprised how many people are willing to help. but do not go to them with stupid questions. do your research but do not be afraid to ask. I wouldn't say I have my dream job but for the stage of life im at right now I have the perfect job. I get paid well, I get hotel/plane/rental car/food paid for to travel and I work in an industry I enjoy (industrial robotics/automation). on the side I picked up iOS development just last year, I got invited to WWDC at Apple HQ and now my app is on the App Store (Search "WayPin" :) ) school and 'systems' put in place by society and expectations of others has a way of stomping out the creative flame most people have. you really need to safeguard and protect that flame but also be rest assured that if you put trust into God or the universe or whatever that all the dots that brought you to where you are will connect just as well and better forwards. but thats enough about me: My advice to ANYONE reading: 1. follow YOUR heart. not what your parents or peers or teachers think. if you like something, do it. either as your primary job OR as your hobby and find the job to fund the hobby. DO NOT go against your morals for a buck. I personally dont want to work for defense contractors EVER and turned down several jobs in that sector before I literally prayed and got my current job a week later. 2. dont EVER give up. on that person, on that dream, on that vision. fail as many classes as you possibly can if it means you can fail upwards and keep going. if you truly think its worth it, dive all the way down the rabbit hole. it is going to hurt the more you fight it. most people will find this out the hard way. you have to surrender to it. 3. do not compare yourself to others: my most successful friend dropped out of college 2 semesters into an IT degree. my most decorated college friend makes the least of us doing a job that we all find boring. he's content, but the world would have you believe that 'most decorated = most successful'. that isnt so. Rome took hundreds of years to build and was destroyed in a week. everyone is truly on their own path and you'll find that no one is coming to save you except yourself. (my metric for success here is paystubs btw $$) there are so many other ways to measure success. my dream was to go to apple one day, and I did that. they've all known ive wanted to do that for decades. to me that was me making it. to them, 'dude thats cool!' you'll learn that your metric for success only matters to you and what you want to do. 4. you hold ALL the answers within. you dont have to travel the world or meditate for long periods of time or be a good person or a bad person or any of these complications we've added. From someone who's done all of that, I will tell you it adds nothing unto you. you chose at every single moment who you are regardless of what the world looks like and it follows you. people who are confident, they get that from others. I know im getting sort of metaphysical here but this is a huge one that I cant really explain because it has to be experienced whenever you decide to bite from that apple. there is nothing to go out and find. if you feel 'directionless' it is only because you have jaded that which gives you a sense of purpose or you havent found it yet.
i felt like this at 18, im 33 now and i will tell you this mindset in and of itself will ruin your life. when you dont believe in yourself nothing will change, but when you do believe in yourself you will naturally take the risk and even if it doesn't play out how you expected it will still have been time used well. not to mention your quality of life will be better if you are happy.
Very insightful sharing. Keep it up

brotha im 24 and I feel like I have wasted my life. I have fucked around and didn't focus on my course, and now I'm seeing some issues pop up grave issues. Id say follow the meme life. " Almost all of men's problems can be solved by getting aesthetically jacked and making money, - hormozi " I always thought I could do it; I could have also, but I wasted my time every time I got some amount of success. I just let my foot down. Never do that. Whenever you get success, always go extra hard. I let momentum die. I had some chances to get girls I let that down, I had chances to make money I messed that up. It's all about taking action, and when ever you get an idea, start taking action. Remove distractions. Don't fall for the self-improvement Youtbers trap they love to create problems you don't have and give solutions to those problems. Create a tribe of friends, guys and girls, a big, decent-sized group so you can go out and have fun. you dont have to completely give up parties dont do that dont drink go to parties they matter since you can connect with peeps your age. I know this is the ramblings of schzo 24 year-old guy.
i turned 24 this year, everyone around me is already in a relationship, engaged and some are even married with children... im extremely alone and i genuinely don't understand what's wrong with me, im not even that bad looking, im about to graduate university and im hard working, but somehow i always fail when it comes to dating and finding the one. this is affecting me a lot mentally, im genuinely tired, and just the thought of it gets me depressed. no matter how hard i work on my profession and workout and all that, there's always is going to be a moment or day where the thoughts come back and that hits hard, especially in public where i see couples. my friends dont even go out with me anymore, they have gfs/bfs, other priorities, or even in group couple dates. they know damn well my situation of my loneliness and never wished or wanted to help me, set up w a woman or simply even recommend me one, cuz apparently i have to meet the one myself. i tried everything, dates, online dating, Instagram, but shit, nothing ever worked. anwys perhaps im meant to be alone, that old single uncle in family gatherings lol. i feel left out in so many things in life, i try to save but w this economy i want to help my parents and family more
Hey man I'm sorry to hear your situation. I am no relationship expert or anything and you have more life experience than me by the sounds if it. The only thing I would say which I tell to a couple of my friends in the same situation is that you need to try not think too much about it(I know its much easier said than done). If you focus to much on it most likely you will not find what you're looking for. Some day it will just happen, theres someone meant for everyone. I think just try to isolate yourself less(it sounds like you might need some new friends). I wish you the best my friend.
@@willlhutchinson i gave it up long ago, in life we meet people that are 50plus years old and alone, not married or in rshs, and without children…. No matter how much we lie ourselves, that someone might come unexpectedly one day, or that “ the least we think about it or try, it will come”, all we have to is accept the fate that love and friendship are not meant for everyone. There was a time between 2021 and 2023 that i never thought about it, it was some sort of healing stage for me and all i did was work hard professionally and academically, the least of my concerns was dating, so in theory that should have been the time when it might have happened but no. good luck man on your journey, you are 100% right!
How have you been feeling since this video? I'm 28 and only just starting my own brand, been building up to it for a few years now. Before I was 25 I felt so lost with what I wanted from my life and depressed, I dropped out of uni in my final year after realising I had chosen I subject I didn't even care about. Got out of some pretty toxic relationships and shitty jobs that messed me up for a few years atleast, struggling with anxiety and all sorts of other mental health issues (some of which I still struggle with). don't give up hope, you can always turn your life around 💛 and yeah social media is terrible for comparison, I think the majority of us have an unhealthy relationship with it. ULTIMATELY all answers you are seeking for your life are within. Always follow your heart, learn how to develop and tap into your intuition. I believe there is guidance available to us from our higher selves if we open ourselves up to that possibility and embrace what we are most passionate about doing. I asked myself the question if money wasn't a thing what would I want to spend my life doing? I came up with an answer to that question (something I had known for years but just avoided because I didn't think it was possible/knew how/never thought it would be something I'd be able to do - spoiler alert: I eventually proved myself wrong, I wish I had just followed my heart from the very beginning, before I even went on the wrong uni course) - after I asked myself that question and came up with an answer I followed the signs and synchronicities that acted as thumbs up from the universe and gave me the impression I was heading in the most beneficial direction, that original idea started to morph into something else as I paid extra attention to what was exciting me that I saw others doing. I self taught myself everything I needed through UA-cam. and that's how I ended up to where I am now. Looking back it's been a pretty incredible journey of self discovery, but I know it's not over yet cus I'm only just getting started. Wishing you all the best! Anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself and take the first step, and then the next one, and then the next one 🙏 finally, remember that you are loved and worthy regardless of what other humans say or any inner negative thoughts or beliefs tell you, or what you have or haven't accomplished. Continue to make steps towards a vision and you can accomplish anything, you are more powerful than you know. Eternal blessings & wishing you all the best on your journey brother (and whenever possible have fun, because shouldn't that be the thing we prioritise the most?)
