I have been racing at Herefordshire Raceway for over 15 seasons. In that time, I have won the 1x Rookie Championship, 2x Overall Sprint Championship and 6x Endurance Championship. This channel mainly features my races from Herefordshire Raceway, where I now do 99% of my racing.
R5 - A Final - Blistering Fast, But Blocked - Open GP 2022 - Herefordshire Raceway
As I had a lot of bad luck in the earlier heats, I started at the back of the A Final after winning the B Final.
Due to me not qualifying directly into the A Final, a couple of drivers who traditionally don't make the A Final got bumped into it. For the first few laps, I got stuck behind these drivers, who were focused on defending and held me up.
Once I got past them, I caught the field and made more passes. If I'd not been stuck behind them, I could have got a top-three place with the speed I was carrying.

I started on pole in the B Final and won to progress to the A Final.

I got taken out before the first lap had been completed. This ended my championship battle for this season. However, I managed to catch up and gain one place on the last corner of the final lap!

There is a lot of action in this race. The driver in yellow is out of position with a fantastic qualifying lap but lacks any pace for the race, which held up most of the field.

I started the A Final quite far down the grid, but I was fast - sadly, I got stuck in traffic behind slower racers and could not find an easy way to pass.

I had an incredible start gaining four positions off the grid. Going from 7th to 2nd by the end of the race, with two more laps, I would have easily taken the win.

I made this Pole to Victory race challenging for myself. In the race's first half, I kept missing apexes, which allowed someone to close up on me. In the second half of the race, you'll see I start to take defensive lines. Unlike other racers, I don't ever look back. I hear the opponent's engine behind me and know where to place my kart.
R3 - H1 - Twice squeezed into the wall - Open GP 2022 - Herefordshire Raceway

In this heat, I started 7th (random grids) and was surrounded by rookies. I got punted off the bridge and had to go through the pits. On two later occasions, I got squeezed into the tyre wall-a race to forget.
R2 - A Final - Gained a few positions - Open GP 2022

After winning the B FinaI, I started at the rear of the A Final. I was way too passive at the start assuming in the wet, there would be some mistakes on the opening laps that I could gain from, which never happened. By the time I started going aggressive, the field was too spread out.
R5 - A Final - Beating Red Bull Kart Attack Champion - Open GP 2021

In this A Final, I beat my racing friend Lee Hackett who at the time was the Red Bull Kart Attack Champion!
R2 - B Final - Won - Open GP 2022 - Herefordshire Raceway

Due to all the terrible racecraft of others that I experienced in the heats, I ended up staring third in the B Final. It was the first time in years that I had started in the B Final. The driver starting in 2nd on the grid drove off the track, which sums up nicely the driving quality in this Round of the Championship. I won the B Final.
R2 - H3 - 6th to 3rd in the Wet - Open GP 2022 - Herefordshire Raceway

Heat 3 was wet like Heat 2. With random grids, I started in 6th. In the first corner, the rookie who took me out in Heat 1 nearly screwed me again by losing control of their kart right in front of me. I got past and moved up to 3rd place by the end of the race. Had a good battle with Will Clifford throughout the race.

Using random gird positions, I ended up on Pole for Heat 2 of Round 2. It had started to rain between the two heats, and with no practice laps, I was first into all the corners and finding grip in those first few laps was hard.

I miss A1GP and Superleague Formula great looking and sounding cars unlike contemporary F1
under the bridge is tough in the wet... took me 20 minutes to figure that one out!
What’s your best time mate? Mine is a 34.7
When I am on form I'll do high 33's with a car ballasted to 14 stone. I don't know my exact best I have done thousands of laps around this curcuit over 15 years, it will be somewhere in the high 33s.

Why the blur?
Hiding my break and acceleration points. It's a very competitive championship and others who race regularly will study my driving style.

Do you use the brake pedal at all throughout the lap in the wet ?
Yep, you do use the brake. But lighter so you don't lock up the back, and you've got to spot the drier parts of the track where the grip is.

Use your brakes. Lots forget or don't use them enough and end up carrying way too much speed into the corners.

Went here earlier today with my family My best was a 35.542 so no where near as smooth as u guys At one point I properly shunted into a wall lol
Keep practicing, you'll get faster.
@@JK-ThunderRacing was struggling to find a decent line coming down off the bridge, definitely a few tenths to gain there
