    Would guess this is the last from them yes..If any band need 16 years to make some good songs that tells us that they have serious trouble writing new songs. Common..16 years. That is insane. They will never top Disintegration. If i was the Cure i would say..Hey we are the Cure. This is our last album and we wanna retire on top. We want to make the best album to leave as a legacy to the new generations. We want to be remembered as a band that influenced a lot of bands with our sound. Let´s bring in some great producers and co writers to create a master piece. If they come out now with a mediocre album with a lot of instrumental teenage shoegaze noise junk after 16 years they will just make fools of themselves. If they had written 1 song every year they would have 16 new tracks to a album. That´s realistic if u are the laziest band ever

  • @glowboyglow315
    @glowboyglow315 17 днів тому

    Lazy band. If your main job is to write music and tour. At least you can make 2-3 songs a year. Even 1 song on 3 months is realistic. But 16 years!!!! common!! haha

    I disagree in terms of the production. Yes, the drums sound special, but I think they give a hardness to the otherwise quite soft and dreamy instrumentation. It wouldn' t have worked with just a 2/4 on a regular sounding drumkit. And they take it quite far out because there seems to be no hi-hat at all. Instead there are several electric percussion stuff. So I guess they went for some quite strange drums deliberatly on this track. I think it works and always like when The Cure do not choose the obvious.

    I had a feeling that the album is taking so long to release, bc it’s very personal, and I was right. He suffered 3 major losses in a short amount of time. And for those of us that know a little about Robert, he’s a perfectionist. So it makes sense to me. I very much look forward to finally hearing it. He says it’ll be their best work. He said it’s dreadfully doom and gloom. Perfect. That is exactly the Cure album I need. 🖤
