I've been in love with there music. last 10 years 7/24 364 They are my bomb shelti
When The National was awesome
They still are awesome.
what a fucking babe
this is so moving--to look back on their struggling, the unknown is scary and sad. Success must be surreal.
Great stuff!
did you ever find out?
The National is on a level of greatness faaaarrrrrrr above Arcade Fire and other bands/artists.
pride of NYC
I think Boxer about ties with TOTBL. But the rest of it is true.
Wasp Nest, a song from the Cherry Tree EP. Sounds like a good live version...
What is the last song in this movie?
this is the first time i heard any of them speak...it's interesting hearing matt's speaking voice in comparison to his singing.
TOTBL ? Turn on the bright lights By interpol ? If you mean that, they are so different in genres even tho theyre both under Post punk revival but oh w/e, I love both of em :)
I think Matt looks cute with his hair and beard like this :)
Matt's cute.
why didn't i know them for so many years? discovered them a month ago and going to see them this december at the beacon theater in new york. high violet is a genius album.
@MrTrinklied Alligator > TOTBL Boxer > TOBL High Violet > TOBL You can deny it, but you would be wrong.
@WilliPatton I don't agree, they are both equally great
@Stull92 The national had poor first albums and then they started to make amazing albums Interpol had amazing first 2 albums and then they went downhill repeating the same stuff over again
The first album wasn't their best but everything after that has been mustard.
the old Brian Eno quote! beautiful things come from shit !
thank you for uploading!i love this band
@WilliPatton So you got something against "religious climaxes" to songs? I love both bands. arcade fire is more emotional and passionate in my opinion though
the song is "Abel"
I won't fuck us over...
good watch.
Cheers buddy!
It's bugging the hell out of me:/ I've asked on The National's forums, but no ones seems to be able to help:(
What's the song playing from the beginning?
Okay I'm drawing a blank here, but what song is playing at the end? Just a guitar, it starts at 03:11. It's haunting!
Song is Three-Two by Clogs. Since Padma was touring with them at the time I guess they just decided to start playing it since Matt left the stage.
I'm a huge fan of both...i find interpol more interesting musically and the national superior lyrically...although the national move me more live...
wheres that 1st song from??
Alligator
5:10 genius
You are a child and don't understand the basics of human development. Blues is the begining of rock and roll. Do your home work stankler and quit fooling around on you tube.
Great song Love the fat "yankees suck" guy passionately singing "i used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders" at 2:13
If you're gonna talk smack about a great band like The National, at least have the decency to use spell checker.
I think i'm in love with their music..I've been waiting for them for twenty-nine years..
11 years later and here I am repeating that feeling in 2019. At least I only had to wait 28 years.
i'm absolutely willing to guess not many people still listen to clap your hands say yeah. i can barely get through a couple of days without one listen at least to alligator.
where almost every song the arcade fire does attempts some kind of religious climax, these guys convey emotion with class and restraint. i find something new every listen, and they don't have to shove it down my throat. i love it.
Yea, I listened to both Alligator and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah when the albums came out, but Alligator is the one that I still listen to. A lot.
For sure. CYHASY kicks ass, but The National just makes the best music, IMHO.
this band is unreal.
no spandex pants, eh? that guy has clearly never spent much time with the dessner brothers.
They've got something more special than CYHASY.
Download this for free from itunes.. ????
awesome
About today is the song.
whats the song they start playing at 2:21???
