This is short frame by frame animation I created on Adobe Photoshop. The music is created by my friend Ivaylo Draganov ! This was a very fun project! I didn't have a plan for what it would be, I just wanted to create something trippy, that will have images morphing from one to other. I have studied animation in University but it's been years since I last animated something this complex. What do...

    "The sketch doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to BE!" (was this a conscious reference to Encanto?) (either way, it's an awesome advice!)

      @@sam-ny8ro I am glad to hear it! I have a long experience with envy in all aspects of life, I think it's usually because it's hard for us to recognize our own value and our uniqueness. No to get too analitical but i think it's probably the way we are raised. But I believe we can always change the way we think about ourselves. And that will change the way we FEEL about ourselfves.

    Know what's the worst part of always setting insanely small goals for myself? Knowing that I'm never able to EVEN ACHEIVE THAT! Like seriously, no matter how tiny I try to make my goals at anything, IT'S ALWAYS TOO MUCH! Also, the advice is good and all, although i am so sick and tired of people saying that you just have to change your mindset without ever telling you HOW to change your mindset, because if you think it's as easy as just "stop thinking you can't improve and start thinking that you can", then you're fucking delusional, lol. Like, "believe in yourself", HOW DO I DO THIS? "stop comparing yourself", HOW DO I DO THIS?! In fact, I even go as far as to say that the "stop comparing yourself" part is straight up impossible, comparison is just so deeply hardwired into the human brain that we just can't help ourselves. And the idea of me being unique doesn't make me feel better, "no one will do what I do", ok.... BUT I DON'T WANT TO DO WHAT I DO! I DON'T LIKE WHAT I DO! I WANT TO DO WHAT THEY DO AS WELL AS THEY DO! "You just have to express yourself" Again, that requires you to be decent at art, remember the "no matter how small of a goal I set, it's never enough"? that's what it is about, I LITERALLY CANNOT EXPRESS WHAT I WANT, BECAUSE MY SKILLS WON'T LET ME! Authenticity is useless if you don't have the skills to put it on paper.

      Hey, sorry to hear you struggle this much with art. It sounds like you have some serious mental blocks about it. I don't know you, I am guessing here, but probably your handwriting today is more skilled than it was when you first started writing, as a child in school. It's the same with art, the more you do it, your hand builds muscle memory. For some people it takes longer but practice is the key (like for handwriting). I can only share my experience, but how I change my mindset is literally changing my thoughts. And it's not easy, it takes a long time. But let's break it down, HOW TO stop comparing yourself to others? Step 1. - Notice when you start to compare yourself. Notice your thoughts of comparison. Step 2. - Right after that thought of comparison, tell yourself: "I don't need to compare myself to others", NOT "I shouldn't", the wording is important. Step. 3 - Right after that, tell yourself words that confirm your uniqueness. For example: "I am unique, I have something unique to offer in art. No one can do what I do, because they are not me." And of course it's not about thinking you are BETTER than anyone, that is still comparison. It's about thinking that your uniqueness is valuable. It's not easy. It takes a long time. And usually the first step - noticing when you do it - is the hardest. But the more you do it, the easier it will get, hopefully. That's how it worked for me and it took a long time. I hope this helps!

      Except I'm not unique, every time I try to be my skills get in the way. Also no, my hand writing isn't better, it's actually worse in many ways.

    Does it matter how long your art takes? I can take an hour just to draw a single frame, and some artists can do the same in 20 mins

    • @mustartplus
      @mustartplus 4 місяці тому

      In general, the more experienced you are, the faster you will be. Speed improves with practice, just like everything else. I don't think it's a problem if your art takes long to create. It can be a problem if you become demotivated of the slow progress. But try to not compare yourself to others! A little advice for drawing comics: try to develop a style that you can draw reletively fast, so you can move the story along! That's, atleast to me, the best part of comics - telling a story. Maybe you draw slow because you are afraid of making a mistake or not drawing perfect? Mistakes and imperfections are good! That's how we learn. You need them to grow!
