So not one sec of video to show what it looks like with the wheels? FML what a waste of time
He just gets right in there with no jack stand lol that living in the fast lane gonna get you hurt
Dude ”thanks", because of your bright suggestion to jack up the engine so much so the bolt will come out from the bracket so it snapped my other mounts... 11:22
You did a great job bro doesn't even look like a spray can paint job looks very professional
Which engine version that GOLF was? It was petrol 1.2tsi?
Honestly, taller tires look cooler than a lift. No axles issues as well.
Not thinking I’m gonna lift .. my question is what is the Biggest size AT tire I can go with on a 18” rim and not get rubbing?
You can find a complete excel list online. Search for images: ridgeline tyre size list
Do the lift kit hurt the truck such as axel and ball Joints? I heard someone say they make the truck very rough ride
I changed 2 axle boots, and 1 lower ball joint. But that was all because of age I think. It drives very smooth! Loving how it rides 100%
hi I have this same tonneau cover on my ridgeline. was wondering if you have ever replaced the lock? I couldnt find one as a replacement :( wondering if you have?
Hi! My cover is broken. It split a few times on top. So I'm driving without cover right now.
@@BjornV got it, yea the lock broke on mine, but yours looked like the same one I have, do you know if its RETRAX? Don’t think they make the lock for the old model like the one you and I have. Just curious cause now with the newer lock I can’t close and lock the cover all the way like 90% but then gets blocked by the Pilar inside the bed :(
Mahalo Nui from Maui
Graag gedaan! From Belgium 😁
Im stuck:( i cant get the rears back on
You can't get them in because the assembly is too big? If so you have to press the control arm downwards.
Just noticed your reply thank you, I ended up getting it in. Too me about 10hrs to do the entire job. The rears I had to get creative with the pry bar, the shock bolt was refusing to go in the end threads. I got my truck aligned to spec and now Im getting alot of clunking during slow speeds in the front end any thoughts?
For anybody thinking of lifting their first gen ridgeline…..DONT. It causes major problems. If youd rather sacrifice reliability to look cool, then by all means, go ahead and lift it.
I have an 06 and I tell my wife every time I see a lifted one, THESE TRUCKS WEREN’T MEANT TO BE LIFTED! It looks tacky
What major problems? I've been driving around like this for years, only having my shocks going bad now, but that's normal. 135k miles with oem shocks.
is it sturdy enough to lean on. Looks sort of fragile
It's okay to lean on, but not to forget, it's not a 500€ part. So I wouldn't sit on it 😬
thanks bro didnt know if i had to support engine or not for timing belt job🙏
No problem 👌
Great job man. Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 is in the house.
hey man whats size is your tires
245/70/17 With mudflaps, no rubbing 👌
@@BjornV ahhh I see thanks man I want try on mine!
@@lanzjosephcalderon-hu3ix yeah no problem!
btw do you have any wobble or shake while driving with the lift ? thanks man
@@lanzjosephcalderon-hu3ix no. None at all!
Beautiful
Thanks!
What are all the parts needed to install this onto any stock ek honda civic??
Supercharger with pulleys and brackets Injectors Intake Chipped ecu or stand alone Longer belt And a lot of research 👌
Колхоз от Васі
Hi, where did you buy theses aluminium washer in 8mm?
If you can, try not to use a heatgun. Cook it in your oven on low heat to get more even heating.
Yes good point, but when doing a DIY the wife wouldn't like you to put it in the oven :')
@@BjornV forgot about that 😂
Anyone know how he mounted the license plate like that
The front one us mounted with 2 L brackets. 1 part to the plate, 1 part to 2 rivnuts in the bumper
I periodically spray them and any and alll rubber components with 303 Protectant , to resist drying out and cracking .
That's smart! Might do that too!
Man she’s pretty!!
Thanks!
Why don't u use the sway bar link's from EG instead of the ones from Ek? Are not they the same? I mean the same purpose.
Great video though....thanks
Just lift up like a squat. I didn't use any extensions...grow a pair😅
Any issues with that sway bar?
No, only issue is to get the correct end links or sway bar inserts. Other than that it's perfect 👌
@@BjornV I've got the whole set from Civic EG, is it the same as the set from Del Sol?
@@Марин-щ9ф as far as I know, yes.
@@BjornV thank u for the help dude!
Do you know what the torque should be on the axle bolt
No idea, sorry! At work we tighten them with our impact gun.
is it possible to remove the 3 bearing bolts without removing the axle shaft?
I'm unsure if you can, but taking out the cv makes your life easyer.
how did you remove the top back panel on the roof (the one with tail light)? Did you have to remove other parts to get the whole panel? thanks!
No other parts needed to be uninstalled. If I remember correctly, you remove 2 round caps on either side, and undo the 10mm bolt underneath. Other than that there are clips under the panel, with a little force, or interior prying tool you can undo the clips easily.
thank you. Hope you're still enjoying your Ridgeline as I do with mine! 10 years and counting..
Any reason why you needed to disconnect the ball joint and push back the axle? Once the bolts are loose, can’t you just pry the bearing assembly forward, and have it come off? Seems unnecessary unless I’ve missed something
Usually the bolts are blocked by the axle. (On most of the cars I've worked on) And sometimes even when loosening the bolts, you're not able to slip out the bearing assembly. Like on the Navara d40 you need to hammer it out.
What is your mileage at after the lift?
Highway 15l/100km lpg and combined about 18-19l/100km lpg.
F20b is the BEST
I do that and now my transmisión don’t shift in D . Why?
You must of hit something on the gearbox then.
super awesome work i love it , i just want to get more offroad , thanks from Chile
Thanks! 🙏 You'll get loads more clearance this way! Have fun!
@@BjornV really thanks bjorn my 2012 its been only been used for the city ¡ and i would love to go further with the ridgy , have a good day sir blesings
The only problem with this system, in my opinion, is the fact that the vacuum is taken from after the throttle, so it'll actually draw more oil at idle and less oil when the engine is under load.
Yes I think that you are right, I wonder can you install above throttle body
What ecu?
Hondata s300 v3
@@BjornV nice I have a zxi awd integra I have to repin ecu to run hondata but I’m excited to put the jrsc on
@@cyberstatus575 sounds like a fun itr! Awd is on my list one day.
How many miles on the truck when you did this?
Around 11000-115000. I'm at 128000 now. No issues.
@@BjornVI had to have my Honda pilot motor mounts replaced at 95k
Curious on why you apply lube to the threads when you're putting things back together. Wouldn't it make the nuts and bolts more likely to come loose with vibration?
So imagine you've got a stuck bolt, that's in an open end nut so you can see the threads sticking out. You clean the threads and apply wd40, and start to back up the bolt. hen it's stuck, you go back in and apply more wd40 so the threads withing the nut are lubricated. In the end the nut threads are lubricated completely and the bolt can be taken out. Now do this without wd40, you will hear the bolt and nut screeching because both threads are dry. So now, we want to put the bolt back in, but wd40 isn't good for that because wd40 dissolves after time. So I use ptfe lubrication, When applying this to threads, the bolt goes in to a nut easyer, and the threads within the nut stay lubricated, and you can still tighten the bolt to spec without it backing out over time. BUT it will back out easier when you disassemble, without the need of wd40! (I would still use wd40) We've been doing this for years at work, and when disassembling the same bolts again after time, they come loose easier :) Hope this explains your question :p
Hey great video! What roof rack did you use for this? Is it a special rack with a higher load capacity?
Thanks! No this is the OEM rack. The tent is right at the limit the rack can hold 👌
Oh okay cool thanks!
I actually have the three piece tonue cover that you mentioned you wanted it's called the Tonno Pro and it's okay but I think yours is easier to get into quicker for sure but the thing I like most about yours, even though you lose some space is : it looks awesome compared to the one I have so contact me and we can trade...LOL
Haha! I love mine, but unfortunately it got cracked because of age, dryrotted... So I fixed it with ducttape, but unsure what to do to replace it. Shipping and import to Belgium is expensive.
I am doing it a bit diff4erent than everyone. Im only adding a bit at a time of the most flexible urethane I could find.
Thinking outside of the box, love it!
I took a video last night of my engine moving both foward and reverse. Tonight Im going to jack up the back of the motor a bit, I have a battery powered gun and I bought some flexible urethane from home depot and a clear long hose so I can fill the rear mount up with flexible urethane and not have to take it off. The rear is a bitch.
So your making it a solid bushing, I used to have inserts form innovative mounts like that for my oem mounts on my coupe. If it works, why not 💪
wtf, you did not even do the one that ninety five percent of the time is the culprit. The back mount. Come on dude. Those front two are easy.
The culprit was the passenger side one, And I think I said it in the video that I will do the rear later.
Did you have to do any grinding of the front wheel well? Or does the lift kit solve that issue. I have 265/65/17 tires which are basically the same size, but I’m getting some running around sharp turns. I’m getting 2” lift installed next week though to help it i hope it Helps
No grinding at all! Only rubbing I've heard is when going full lock, at a small roundabout, at a faster pace. No idea what it would have been without the lift kit.
What lift kit do you have on yours
Traxda 202020
I did that transmission line bypass just in case
I still have to do mine ... :/
Hi does a bad passenger side motor mount affects the steering wheel and alignment? Thank
No it shouldn't, the engine is not connected to the suspension. It can however give a kind of shake, because the drive shafts are connected to the wheels and are not in line anymore.
@@BjornVI will get a wheel alignment. Thanks for the quick reply.
Yeah.. I watched the vid for brake discs, went to do it myself, ofc they were all stuck, regreted the DIY decision multiple times, got it done because I could just hammer left right up down as old ones are junked anyway. But I aint falling for it again, looks easy on the video and I dont have impact gun which would be key to success here since its tight space for extension. But thanks for the vid, good to know what it takes.
No problem, sorry to hear you had a bad time doing the discs!
Looks amazing brother so no primer is needed for this job?
Correct! It's all in one can 💪
