We have this standar din Australia also with the side mirror camera. Yes you have to push Enter to make it come on and its only really for parking (not whilst driving)
How do you feel about the DRL fogs? Do you think they add to visibility when driving at night?
It doesn't add much visibility. I just got them overall for looks.
Horrible video I was trying to follow along with the installment but you fast foward in some parts that i'm very confused about because I COULDN'T FOLLOW ALONG BECAUSE THE PLAYBACK WAS TOOOOO FAST!!!!

Hello I have a 1976 Sunstar that has been in family since new, but has recently stopped working, I believe that the condenser in the DCC and the amp.have gone bad do to age. Do you have any suggestions to help me get her back in the family? Thank you and I love your short 2ndA Garry
The capacitors on the DCC has probably failed and needs to be replaced with new equivalent rated capacitors on the circuit board. Also the contacts within the DCC should be properly cleaned using electronic parts cleaner and thick paper stock making sure not to damage the contacts.
I have the Topaz, purchased it in early 1993. I have had to fix several things along the way, I’m on amplifier number 2, (original SHP-1 was beyond repair, replaced with SHP-3, so far so good) replaced a few capacitors in the power supply, and the red box once. We still play it daily. When I was a teenager, I worked at a restaurant where they had a Davinci. I would LOVE to have ended up with that one as I love the design on the front, tried to track it down after the restaurant sold out, but no luck. You have some really nice ones on here!😀

how do you reset the boost gauge?
Instead of a quick single press, you hold the Enter button for 2 seconds and the option to reset the max psi will show.
Which horns did you get? I have the same car. Thinking about getting hella horns but want it to match my brakes… Did you paint your horns?
Sorry for the late reply. I didn’t paint them to match but you can buy the matching ones from Subimods.com where I got mine from.

Thanks for this video! I've got the camera and harness and about to install this soon. Had a question though about the screws. The camera has holes for three screws but seems theres only one already in the bumper and no screws were packaged with the camera. Did find those screws somewhere or just had a few lying around?
Sorry for the late reply, but yes I went to the hardware store and picked up a few more screws. Bummer it didn’t come with the amount needed.

Do you lose the ability to reset your boost gauge if every time you press enter the camera comes on?
I installed it on mine and you can still reset the boost gauge.

@@SonikJesus I don't have my VA anymore but if I remember right, it's the same way (press down and hold). To activate the camera is to press and release.
@@SonikJesus It either times out, or you can push the button again and it will go back to the main menu.
Thanks. I am contemplating the WRX S4 bezels for my base trim. Since I want to keep the OE turn indicator, I just need the led DRL strip. I might even use the opportunity to add fogs to my base 'while I'm in there'. This video helped answer a few questions. Cheers.

It’s awesome but why need a front camera when the front windshield if right there. Just look right out the windshield why look at a 4 in screen when you have a four foot windshield. Unless it’s able to record. Then it could make it worth the install
....when pulling forward in to a parking space (or drive) it can help with judging distance to the curb/barrier/wall so that you don't rip off your front spoiler/splitter.
thought it was pretty obvious why you would want a front camera pointing down low.

...sure, you can always cut wires, strip the insulation back and then crimp or solder the wires together. A much more involved process. The t-taps just eliminate the splicing/crimping/soldering. It all depends on your ability or preference.
i bought the same parts for the camera. how did u route the wire to connect it? any pictures?
I don't have any pictures of that, sorry. but I just found areas within the bumper itself and guided the wire away from the radiator into the battery compartment area.

Hit the ‘Enter’ button and it comes on automatically. Lasts for a minute.
