LUTON V LEEDS 22 3 75
Переглядів 40811 місяців тому
Back in the top flight for the first time since 1960 The Hatters are off the pace for the first half of the season but make up for it with a fantastic recovery from Christmas onwards. This Leeds game is a case in point. Excellent performance and result against a team chasing European honours. More sand than turf on the pitch; exceptional keeping from Keith Barber and clinical finishing. Some se...
Huddersfield v Luton 1973 - Highlights
Переглядів 25111 місяців тому
Despite being played on a snow-covered pitch, with the white stuff falling heavily throughout, you won't see anyone wearing gloves! (apart from the goalkeepers - maybe). How things have changed! Unusual to have video of Luton playing in their red away shirts. Probably a good idea, wearing white in those conditions would have been challenging.
JOHN STILL - A TRIBUTE. The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Переглядів 43811 місяців тому
John Still earned true legend status for Luton fans worldwide when, in 2014, he led the club back to the English Football League after five long years in the relative wilderness of 'non-League' in the fifth tier Football Conference. The diabolical punishment of 40 points deductions over two seasons leading to inevitable relegation left a huge level of resentment with the fans. John used his vas...

One of Luton Town’s favourite sons, Brian is second only to Gordon Turner in the post-war scoring charts and formed magical partnerships with the likes of Bob Hatton and Mick Harford during his long stay at Kenilworth Road. Born in South Africa in 1957, Brian was brought to England as a seven year old as his family fled the apartheid regime and was playing for Edgware when he was recommended to...

HATTERS' HERITAGE IN DISCUSSION WITH ROLAND LEGATE 15 06 22
My dad took me to watch luton that season i was 13yrs old i remember watching david moss always running up down the wings in front of me and watch them lift the trophy great day's when you paid 5pounds entry fee
Where are the Forest Goals?
I was four at the time and one of my first memories was being taken to slab square to greet the team on victory parade. My dad put me on his shoulders so I could see. Marvellous memories
Jeff Whitefoot was the landlord of The Three Horse Shoes in East Leake Notts where I had my first pint.
Great great man, as a lifelong hatter he was responsible for some great Saturday afternoons memories in the 80s!!!! And put ltfc on the football map!!!! Always be my all time favourite manager!!!!!👍
Remember playing against Wayne for Challney High School. They also had Kerry Dixon upfront. Obviously our team lost that day!
I love Pleaty he is the Saint of Luton Town
Brilliant stuff...I'm 60 years young and saw that wonderful 80's team match the big boys week in week out...Foster, Donaghy, Stein, Harford, Preece and so on....even watching Basher Stephens wiping out Mark Walters playing for Villa at the Kenny was a joy to behold 😂.......Cheers for the great memories fellas !!
Absolutely, love you David PleatWhat a lovely lovely man.Make me emotional seeing you cry❤
Great event .. well done to the team for organising and many thanks too David and Wayne COYH
We now need to sign Kone.
Hey, hey baby! BFJ proper footy legend!
I was there too . During my first teaching job in the NorthEast. Met some of the lads from Grangefield Grammar School for boys at half-time. They were most complimentary about the way Luton played . One of our best-ever players, Johnny Aston. Never wasted a cross or pass...❤
🤙
What a brilliant video!! Well done and thanks for creating and posting. ❤
thank you john still for all you done legend
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all hatters everywhere.
Great video, always nice seeing my Dad ❤
Great video. I like the nod to John Still on the Wembley video screen 👍
Sublime!
Some splendid photos of generations of loyal Hatters fans. Merry Christmas to all Hatters wherever you may be!
A memorable match for me as a 16-year-old. Several thousand went up there from Luton on special trains and coaches and cars but all seemed to dissolve into the huge crowd (no segregation) and most, like me, just paid at the turnstiles. A belated thanks to my dad who had to miss a rare appearance of Luton on Match of the Day to come out to wait for the supporters' coaches to arrive back in Luton so he could give me and my friends a lift back home.
I was 16 years old and went up on the train with a friend. It was very difficult to see anything at the far end of of the ground. Very cold and wet, but a memorable day out and an important away win. In those days the change of kit was always the plain red shirts.
Luton were very lucky that day and were deserving of a semi final win. But I believe this was the day where they came of age as for the remainder of that decade they would go onto to achieve: 1985/86 - FA Cup Quarter (lost to Everton in replay); 1986/87 - 7th in league (highest ever league position); 1987/88 - EFL Cup winners and FA Cup semi final; 1988/89 - EFL Cup runners up.
Dreadful game, I can't believe I sat through it. No wonder the hone nations were garbage in those days, hoofing it down the middle to the big centre forward.
That was the modus operandi in those days.
Don't think I've ever heard louder singing at KR in the minutes after the goal went in,literally a wall of noise from three & a half sides
An amazing accomplishment! Well done to Roger and the whole Hatters Heritage team!!!
Given we were six adrift of safety with three to play surely this must be our greatest escape, those last 16 minutes were pure agony coz we all knew good old Forest were spanking Wednesday at Hillsbro',what a great manager Jimmy Ryan might've been if it weren't for those scumbags Nelkin & Kohler
Great chants ..knees up luton town
Thank you for posting......was at the Hull game but haven't seen footage for 53 years. Could have sworn Busby scored a solo goal...shows how the memory can play tricks .
Watching this again today. Can't believe you're gone dad. Miss you so much. Rest in Peace. Love you. Xxx
Not a single kiss after scoring.
Lovey day
This is the most recent FA Cup final in which all the players are now deceased.
Forest fan here. Had no idea that archive footage from this era existed (other than occasional highlights). Looking forward to watching the whole thing. Thanks for posting and good luck with the new season.
Jeff Whitefoot RIP
A young Luke Berry playing for Cambridge United!
Great times
I was there and it was VERY Cold!
Luton we’re a fuckin ale house team
The mighty Everton👍
Useful player
Great vid. Really well put together. May the best team win tonight (as long as it's us) :) #COYB
Good day. Thank you so match for the historical match. Enjoyed and liked of course. Bravo! Lots of love and greetings from your new subscriber. Country Azerbaijan, Baku city🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍❤❤❤
Can't believe how different the game was then, also the pitches! Great to see the great John Aston again😊
I remember John Aston's ball skills really well but I'd forgotten how quick he was. Greased lightning ⚡
Fans are doughnuts ! God Bless You Joe and Thank You . Rest in Peace.
Great victory, remember it well what a ball by Jimmy Ryan (I think) to put John Aston through for the first goal, and Gordon Hindson as well, great player, one of a procession of quality "lefties" weve had over the years.
I was there that day! A heartbreaking day at Villa Park.
I don't suppose Roy Dwight's broken shin was helped much by Joe Mallett (the trainer) flexing his ankle. That's the first match I ever watched all the way through, been a Forest fan ever since.
Tommy Graham was the Forest trainer
@@richardgriffiths6989 You're right! Where did Mallett come from? Senior moment!
