What ya rout that trust rod channel with your pet beaver 😂 (Just play'n bruh... wish i could build guitars 😢)
@@user-cv7kf2fg1z I used the angry router….it goes where it wants when it wants…..
Looks better than my...chIbanez, I guess we'd call it. Is chIbanez a thing yet? Four years ago I bought a Paul Stanley Iceman guitar from China and it's still on my rack because it's in need of a total refinishing. Woodwork on the body was terrible. A surfers dream, the surface was so wavy. Finally preparing to make it right and refinish.
It’s a thing now….chibson wasn’t a thing until someone coined the word…by all accounts, I lucked out on this one.
I just never understood why some people feel compelled to make little videos to announce they got their new very cheaply made knockoff guitar
I dont care I like it its a good platform for whatever
exactly why i got it.
Put the guitar down and clean up your yard. Geeze Louise dude!
been working on that, doesnt take long for it to get away from you though....
I got a strat this way. They sent it out with a 22 fret neck on a body that was roughly carved out for a 21 fret neck. Pickups were like a microphone and the frets were super out of level. Bad paint job and shoddy woodwork. However, after a ton of work and $1000 in parts i have an obvious knockoff David Gilmour strat that actually plays way better than any of my other name brand guitars. It was a fun experience, and I learned lots.
im actually surprised by how well this thing is built, i didnt have high hopes for it..... just needs a basic setup..
I kinda like what you we were trying to do but it would definitely help if you could try to include the guitar in the video oh my lollipop 🍭 worst camera work awards l😅ol
I got a Chibson last year just out of curiosity. It's a Jimmy Page Number 1 replica and I couldn't believe how well it was built. There's nothing out of place on it, the frets are great and it has a truss rod that works (I understand some either have a truss rod that doesn't work, or doesn't have one at all). The QC at these Chinese factories are sometimes better than the genuine article. The fretboard is ebony as far as I can tell, and it has a proper flame maple top. Once I put new pots and a set of SD Whole Lotta Humbucker in it, as well as replacement tuning pegs (though the ones that came with it - Grover counterfeits - work really well, and the bridge/tailpiece are fine too... the guitar holds tune really well) it'll be a monster. The biggest problem is that you just don't know which factories are great and which are awful. _That's_ the roll of the dice. It will all probably cost me between about £600-900 (at the very most) compared to the £16,000 Gibson charge for the same guitar (JP Number 1 Signature). I can live with it being a knock off for that price. And if anyone asks me, I always tell them that it's a knock-off. I even scored out the "USA" from "Made in USA" and carved "China and UK", in its place. Shows how greedy Gibson are when these factories can produce essentially the same guitar Gibson will charge 10xs the price for. My guitar was around $250/300 and an LP Standard Burst goes for about $3,000 starting price. There's not $2,700 worth of electronics in there, or $2,700 worth of wages spent to construct one guitar (even factoring in electronics and man-power, the profits Gibson must make are unreal).
That is why I am going this route. Who has 16 grand to spend on a guitar?
@@redneckhacker7196 Crazy money, isn't it? Even paying 4 or 5 grand for a guitar is insane.
reading this is just so sad... i'd love to get a ferrari, but i simply can't afford one. i'm not going to go bashing the company for being greedy now. your logic is unethical and wrong.
@@kenichi407 The company charges exorbitant prices for a product that can be demonstrably made for a fraction of the cost. Gibson could seriously reduce their prices and make them accessible for all musicians. As a result of their well-overpriced guitars, young guitarists and bands forgo them and it hurts the brand in the long run. They could even go out of business. Not one band at Coachella last year an the year before I believe saw no-one use a Gibson LP. Epiphone LPs, sure but no Gibson. That's a very bad sign. If their guitars were reasonably priced I would buy them no problem. I wouldn't dream of buying a counterfeit Fender because they're not aiming towards rich boomers who have lots of money (but not much life-time left). Once they go, the younger generation have no brand loyalty and Gibson will seriously suffer. My logic is not unethical - I don't lie and say it's a real Gibson - nor is it unethical. If Gibson offered a reasonably priced guitar that didn't come with loads of QC problems out the gate, then perhaps by as I see it, they're conning me by selling a guitar that's £16,000 that they can make in China for £250. They don't have £15,750 worth of overheads. There's not 15 grand worth of electronics in it. Maybe £500 at the very, very most. The way i see it, Gibson are the unethical ones and since they're trying to rip me off, I'll get there first and rip them off. And I'll tell as many people as possible to do the same until they start doing something about their pricing. I'm doing a peaceful and ethical protest since I've never been one for bending over and just taking things, regardless of how badly I'm being shafted.
I can’t believe you actually got one- I e been ripped off 3 times on eBay - I’m beginning to think they dont exist
Went through alie express…showed up 2 weeks early.

Made in USA: Made in: Unfortunately Somewhere in Asia 😂
Those mother of toilet seat inlays look pretty legit..
Note to youtubers. We know how to open a package, get on with the demo or review.
You have been nominated for "Worst Camera Work on UA-cam." I think you have a good chance of winning. Good luck.
ill take what i can get....my tripod busted, so one handed it was........
Where and how much? It's pretty if it has thin neck i want one
alie express. 215 dollars, with free shipping,
Thanks 👍
Get someone else to do your camera work.😂
nobody was available and my tripod is busted.....
Right, a drunk monkey could've done better...😂
How can they get away with claiming it's a Gibson from the USA when it's clearly counterfeit?? Is that even legal? False advertising..... Reminds me of my ex-wife
they advertise them as knockoff guitars.....im not sure what loophole they use..
Sometimes they get seized in Customs. I've heard that getting a relic'd one with a case is much less likely to get through as a new guitar on its own. The manufacturers have also started putting a bit of black adhesive cover over the "Gibson" logo to help get them through customs.
Considering what gibson is charging for guitars that have gone way down in quality, that could be the reason.......Just Sayin. Nuff Said
Exactly. If a 200 dollar knock off gets dinged, it won’t be as painful as a 2000 dollar guitar getting dinged….
Here's what you want to know. This Chinese guitar company is illegally using Gibson's name bearing "Made in U.S.A." on the headstock. It would cost Gibson too much money to stop them over a counterfeit guitar. So Gibson placed an import block preventing them from entering the United States at all customs and they are sent back to China. The only way is to order on line which lowers a lot of their production so Gibson screwed them good! A fake is a fake and anyone who has the money to buy a real American Gibson will buy one instead of a shitty knock off !
P.S. When are you going to restore that husk I saw on your porch!??
That is a scratch build that didn’t turn out right…I wonder if it can be done….
You'll have fun with that! Once you do a few set-up tasks (file the nut, file a few high frets and polish the rest, adjust action, etc.), you will have a great player. Later, you can always change pickups, hardware, etc. and you'll have a personalized monster...at 1/4 the price. Of course, you could get a Firefly, Oscar Schmidt, etc. and do the same thing, but without the novelty of the knock-off.
It has the look I was after…Frampton comes alive…..
“Made in USA” hah.
That one surprised me too…
I can’t believe they had the balls to put “Made in USA,” on it.
Yeah, that one surprised me too..
I fkn China, they give 0 fks.
USA: Unfortunately Somewhere in Asia
I’ve engraved a question mark next to “made in USA” mark in my chibson! 😂
@@tony_dms350 😂😂😂😂 That’s perfect? Hey, I got a question: is that and the “serial number” screened on or carved in like a Gibson?
Glad you're more concerned about the dude than his trespasses, hopefully it was a good lesson learned.

I go out in run or ski in 22-. No fire. Choose your clothing wisely.

I say oak is great to build a guitar with, I'm not a guitar builder, but my ears tell me that sounds great! And great blues style too! Keep up the good work!
Thanks, man. I was playing blues in the late eighties. During the era of VanHalen, it was different..
What the difference hard maple and the normal maple?
There is also soft maple. Looks similar, but much softer...carpenter ants love soft maple...
Hey Clint, I need to get in touch with you..a situation has come up, and I need to ask you some questions...
How much you charge me to make me a guitar?
Depends on the guitar. What kinds of wood, electronics and hardware..
Very nice playing. Theres something about the chunky white p90s that really works with this, it kind looks aggressive in a great way.
Thanks. Every step of the build started with " what if?".
Thanks for sharing. Will you be putting up a video showing the finished guitar?
That was the sound demo. I got the cart ahead of the horse on this one..

I do love your budget saw mitre box, who needs that fancy stuff?
6 bucks tied up in it, and it works like a charm.
all filmed the same day. splicing the 3 segments together killed my laptop.
Sorry for the shaky camera work, and I also meant to say see ya all in 2022.
Great build! Wish I could play half as well as you!
Sounds great......... it also looks really rugged. Great to play and ideal as an attack weapon a against the walking dead. 😁 Thank you, I enjoyed the build.
I enjoyed it too. Over built and rattle can finish.
I really like the "strap-lock" system idea for a day to day guitar. It's simple, it's safe.
most of my guitars have it. even my 1980 gibson les paul. dont want to drop that nugget a second time.
Are you able to intonate it with the bridge angled in that direction?
Yep. It wasn't a problem.
@@redneckhacker7196 I guess that's all that matters ;)
this is the prototype. hopefully ive got thebugs all worked out for the next one......
