Smart Lock Hardwired To Power. No Batteries Needed!
In case anybody is wondering about power failures. I do have a backup generator that automatically comes on. You can also use a regular key to open this lock.
This is the DC power adapter I used.

I-77 and U.S. 224 crash 7/11/2022. Semi vs car

Looks like car stopped because they missed their exit. This caused traffic to suddenly stop for a moment. Looks like the semi truck couldn't stop in time.

i bought this subwoofer yesterday
You in the Dallas area? How much for you to install mine for me🤣🤣
It's amazing how the massive companies cannot hire engineers that would give the consumer the option of wiring these to power. But one man on a mission puts them all to shame. Thanks for the video/idea.
Where can I find those plastic covers?
I used vinyl J bead for drywall. Cut to size and angle. Used hot glue on the angle. Then used 2 sided 3M tape to hold in place. Of course the open side of the J bead is facing the door jam so that it can't be seen.
This is an excellent video an a game-changer. I have a few rental properties and a few Airbnb apartments and my full time job is to constantly check these smart lock and make sure the batteries does not die, this can be very frustrated especially when you need to access the apartment without imposing on your guests. I found your video the only one out there, I did exactly what you did and order the parts as well, this worked like a champ. Now I'm out of a job. lol
Good video and good way to solve the darn annoying problem of having to replace batteries on a smart lock.
This is a great video! The only one of its kind. I wonder if I can convince my electrician to do this for me lol
I just left the cover off.this is a good cheap subwoofer 😊
The purpose is to block access for little animals.
Nice job!
Nice design buddy
Thanks a lot for the video. I did both the things you mentioned. But I could still hear the rattling sound / tearing sound which is so annoying. In fact it’s not doing all the times. But when the bass is high the subwoofer starts vibrating / rattling very badly. Any further solution for this? Thanks!
Great video 👍
Uhhhh, no. lol.
Nice job man!!
Hi. I have a question. Where did you get the "PowerBlock" badges? It gives the stand an authentic look. Thanks.
Very smart! My battery door lock is driving me nuts having to change the batteries every 6-8 months. Have saved this video for future use! Thank you.
I have been thinking of doing just that but wanted to keep using the batteries in case of a power failure and not have a physical key to unlock the lock. I could add a small relay that would reverse to battery power when the power is cut off. I don't think it would be safe to keep the power on rechargeable batteries in there.
Some sort of UPS to wherever it's connected should do the trick
Funny I just ordered a Eufy wifi cam/smart lock and immediately didnt want to dead with charging batteries. Dug a little and you did what im about to do. Great to see people doing this stuff. Keep up the DIY!
Cool system. More complicated than the mechanical float valve hack. Not sure why you have to clean the tank weekly though. I have never needed to clean my tank with the mechanical float valve filler. To reduce the number of parts inside the water tank could the stock float sensor be hacked as a fill switch?
Genius!
Hey Clifford Cooper, may we feature this video in our episodes?
Hi Clifford Cooper, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) :) Cheers, Felix
Brooo that is so cool! I think this is also the channel that showed me how to remove the port grill from my Polk subwoofer to stop the port chuffing and it worked. You the man
Yes, that was me. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Clifford, may i use this video "I-77 and U.S. 224 crash 7/11/2022. Semi vs car" on my channel? With credit of course. Do you have any comment?
Yes.
@@cliffordcooper7318 Thank you so much
Hi Clifford Cooper, could I feature this clip on my channel? Any comment? Thanks
Yes.
That piece of sheet metal is the most common source of noise in these. It’s actually to keep rodents, and kids out 😂. I got rid of it immediately. I’ve never had the grill make any noise. Perhaps yours had a small crack in it (another common thing).
Bro PERFECT!! Everybody keeps talking about bad port chuffing but most of the time its the grill as you point out.
Excellent tip for cutting out grill!!! I had took my cover off completely but cutting out the grill I can now have the covers back on. I had already removed the rat guard and now this sub can achieve its maximum potential! Thanks again!
awesome build, thanks for sharing
Great idea, thank you for this.
Damn I can’t find this item anywhere. Genius idea though
Great idea but sadly Harbor freight discontinued this item. I can't find it anywhere else.
Total cost?
well done!
I will like it with wheels
I like it but looking for something with wheels so I can move it around on stall horse mats. I have the 90lbs power blocks.
That’s the right way! . Looks nice & neat . 👍 👍 good video
It's a pretty simple process. Only remove the back cover not the circuit board . Desolder the existing IR emitter from the board. **Note which wire goes to each side** There's is a ton of videos on soldering and desoldering on UA-cam. Straighten the wires on emitter with pliers. Using the wire from a resistor or another emitter, etc. Bend the ends in the some direction as the emitter was before you straighted them out. Solder to board and cut to the length you will need. Solder the emitter to the those wires. Using a dremel. Trim the plastic to the size of the emitter. This will also determine the length of the wires.
What emitter are you using?
@@KangerMGMT Just now seeing your question. Reuse the original. Just extend the wire.
Care to share how you did it, parts needed etc? As is this video is fairly pointless to viewers that'd like to do the same.
Excellent job!
Got my Powerblocks coming and I need a stand. This is so awesome! Thank you for sharing!
Argh! They''re clearing the stands out of HF; the closest branch with any in stock is nearly a 2 hour round trip from me.
@Incog Nito I ended up building a stand out of scrap wood I had sitting around. Came out much nicer than the HF stand, I think.
Amazing build; I thought this was an OEM PowerBlock stand at the beginning of the video with how nice it looked. Glad my local Harbor Freight still has this stand in stock. About to start this build for my PowerBlocks
Excellent work!
Man that’s clean! Well done sir!
Great find and modification, Sir!
Nice work!
glad to see youre still at it cliff!
damn i wish i could find this stand i think its no longer in production
