Переглядів 7572 місяці тому
This episode is about how to build an aquascape in anything. It's another ultra nano no filter jar scape. This time we're building our scape in a thrifted Apothecary jar. our container is about 2 cups or .5L so very small, we're going to have to be clever about how we use the limited space. @aquariumreptiledepot #aquascape #nanoaquascape #aquarium #nanotank #nanoaquarium
This Tropical Freshwater Pond Will Blow Your Mind !!!!!!!!

I had lots of fun building this tropical pond. This is the Ultum Nature 25S shallow tank @UltumNatureSystems. We tried some new techniques, definitely one of my personal favorite projects that we have worked on for the channel. Big ups to our friends over at @aquariumreptiledepot for having all the plants we could ever want for this setup. I also want to give a big shout out to @Hygger-Aquarium...

Building a 4 Gallon Phoenix Rasbora Nano Scape
Exactly what I do with my 4 mini tanks 😅, I mostly use them for grow space for my large tank, and a grow about for new plants that are expensive 😅 wishing the best for you and your wife! And hoping for a joyful little one ❤
Thanks for the great content you make! As someone stuck in the service industry getting into plants/aquascapes, it's really useful to see how you compact the magic of biology into your space and you sound quite busy so please know the work you put into doing this is much appreciated!
@@deadlyshinners666 wow thanks so much, I know the struggle of finding space nowadays especially in an apartment or condo. My whole mission is to show that anyone can have beautiful Aquascapes. Thank you for your kind word it means a lot
Congrats!
@@kdizzle4355 Thank you so much !!!
Hi😊
Thank you for the shout out!!! Congratulations a baby is always a great blessing!!😊
Hello from my fish room channel in chicago, where i am a subscriber to yours! I really enjoyed this build video and the glorious outcome. One note: i'm guessing in a few months that modest sword will be the biggest plant in the tank and might need to be scooched to the back corner. We'll see!
@@LushSaltyAquariums I'm curious to find out myself. So far it's colored up very nicely, it's turned almost blood red. Lots of new leaves but it hasn't gotten too much bigger. I know that it's a slightly smaller variety. But I'm hoping it doesn't take over. If it does I have another tank that would look great with with it. Thank you for your kind words!!
@@HerbScapes curious: do you know the species of that sword? A full red sword that stays small a very nice thing!
@@LushSaltyAquariums it's a hybrid flame red I got from a local aquatic plant grower here in Sacramento
@@HerbScapes i look forward to seeing it in a month or two!
@HerbScapes would you consider making a video on the upkeep of these beauties? Thank I really enjoy your content keep it coming!!❤
@@zaraI300 Thanks so much I really appreciate you watching. And of course I'll get a video up soon showing my maintenance schedule!!!
Everyday ? Just set one up
Everyday for one week then every other day for the second week then once a week for the third week and then whenever it needs it. I've noticed the water changes the first weeks helps cut down on plant melt
Do you change the water at all?
@@MrPetebuster1 for the first two weeks yes. But after that pretty much no unless I notice a problem
Shrimps would be good addition to this tank and couple venesuela corys
Nice idea
I never considered Cory's but now that you say that I'll definitely look into them. But my shrimp breeding tank is almost at capacity so I'll be adding a few soon
@@HerbScapes Cories are very peaceful and social fishes they won't bother adult shrimp but they can eat baby shrimp
nice work. big fan of the Sardine Factory @ MRB and "Lovers Cove" - great food and views.
We go every year for our anniversary. It's one of my favorite places in California
Looks great man! Keep up the good work!
Hi, can you provide a link to the river sand you bought?
Hi, unfortunately I get it locally in bulk at an aquarium store near me. But the Ultum Nature Controsand Monterrey is very similar if that helps
Any thoughts of adding some shrimp?
Absolutely, Im still letting my shrimp breeding tank come to capacity before taking any out. If you want to see I have a video of that tank up now. But ill definitely be adding some soon. Stay tuned for the update 💯
Hey great job! Love the mission of your channel ❤️
Thanks for watching !!!
Looking good at the outset. fingers crossed the Monte Carlo doesn't give you trouble. I know the other plants won't. Consider replacing water every other day for a few weeks to keep it clean and clear for plants to get foothold.
Yup everything gets a daily water change for the first few weeks in the studio. I find planting the Monte Carlos in bigger clumps helps avoid problems with it 🤞. Thanks for watching man
@@HerbScapes My pleasure to watch and to help :)
To much flow for this fish
Those are gonna outlive you with that substrate to plant ratio 😂👍🏻
It also functions as a way to filter the water. The basalt soil create a ton of surface areas for the bio filter to live. But yeah you could probably use a little less 😂 😂
This was such a great video! Me and my kiddo love watching videos like these and making small aquaecapes to keep around the house and also give as gifts. Just subscribed and looking forward to seeing more!
Thank you so much for watching, there's a lot more to come
What about the mosquitos, what do you do?
I keep all of my projects indoors, so mosquitoes really aren't a concern ☺️
Love these tiny scapes!
Thanks so much, I'm making it a whole series. There will definitely be more to come 💯
I like your build. You can toss in a few cherry shrimp. They'll be fine. Been building these things for friends and family for several years.
amazing work man, love your designs. so glad i found you! proud to help support you grow. hope you make it big one day man ❤
Thanks so much for the support. I'm happy to have you along for the ride 💯
This was very relaxing and inspiring and informative! I hope your channel skyrockets!
Me too 😂. Thank you so much for watching !!!!
Hey, new sub here! Great content! How do you keep the asparagus fern alive?
They grow great in water. I just wash all the dirt off the roots and put just the roots in. I've always had good luck. I keep them in a bunch of my tanks. They pull lots of nitrates from the water and help with water conditions
@@HerbScapes I've tried before in a tank with betta fish, the plant just shed endlessly until it's inevitable end 😅
@@TankItEasySG hmm interesting, they've always worked great for me. There are a few different types of them tho the one with the weird bulbous roots didn't do that great. But the other ones do really well 🤷
Me when I saw the shrimp: “so you lied to us 🧍🏻♀️”
I lied to myself 🤣 he had to have snuck in on the frogbit. I keep a bunch in my shrimp breeding tank
@@HerbScapes LOL! I think he’s chillen w his snail roommates 🤙🏼
@@nvmbii He was trying to get out on his own 🤣 I ended up moving him back into the breeder tho. The water conditions in these small scapes really isn't set up for shrimp, TDS is too low and nitrate are too high. So he's back with momma
@@HerbScapes I have two shrimp in a 2 qt fish bowl along with frog bit, Xmas moss, Hornwort and a small Anubias. No heater, no filter , never used fertilizer and never cycled it. Change 1/4 water every two weeks. The little guys have been in there over six months and doing great. Nitrates are fine. I test the water every two weeks. The bio load from two shrimp is not all that much.
Came directly from father fish. Commendable job. Awesome. Subscriber no 209😅
Thanks so much for the sub. There a lot more to come. I'm happy to have you here for the ride
You did a superb job with this otherwise novelty item!
I was hoping people would get a little laugh out of it. I know I am 😂
Only found you yesterday but I love what you're doing, bro! I was subscriber 190 lol
I genuinely appreciate it. Thank you so much it means a lot to me
@@HerbScapes <3 Looking forward to more!
Asparagus ferns won't survive because of over watering I guess
They do really well actually, I have them in a lot of my tanks☺️
But the one with the weird roots didn't do too well. So I took it out eventually 😢
Thanks means I have to check good condition of roots ? right 👍🏻
Yup some plants can make the transition and some can't, it's all an experiment
Great video Herb! I love the soil scoops too! Where did you get that sand? Can you find it anywhere on the internet?
I get it from a local shop here in Sacramento. It's called Monterrey Beach sand. I believe they source it from beaches around the monterrey coast here in California. I think the Ultum Nature Controsand Monterrey is really similar if that helps
Great tank. I have that same light and, good as it is, I'm surprised your pants are getting so much out of it. Your Rotala looks great.
Wow these look awesome! Where did you find those containers?
At a store called Daiso it's like Japanese dollars tree. We have one here in Sacramento. I paid like 2 dollars for each one . But you can find similar ones in a lot of different places and online
@@HerbScapes Ive actually heard of that place, sadly none near by. But Ill defintally be on the look out for something simaler, huge thanks for tip!!
I believe that the ADA DOOA glass pot MARU 95 is really similar. Only it's 40ish dollars. Here's a link to one of your interested aquaforestaquarium.com/products/dooa-glass-pot-maru-95?variant=40615264551021¤cy=USD&cmp_id=18314572789&adg_id=&kwd=&device=m&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwupGyBhBBEiwA0UcqaJSj1ucKVe0DmOF0tkhsoNISE-un1vbonefU2XuMkL2cCYaQ-p86WhoCChAQAvD_BwE
@@HerbScapes Awesome thank you! Yeah the price on the DOOA is actually not that bad, Ill have to check it out!
Lovely little tanks, bro!
Thank you so much, and same to you I love your channel. All your tanks are so amazing 💯
@@HerbScapes Thank you for the props :)
Cheers from my fish room channel in Chicago, where I just subscribed to yours! This video proves "size doesn't matter." ;)
It's how you use it 😂😂
Don't the snails climb out?
Nope, I've never had one get out. They have plenty of food and good water conditions. I try and keep them pretty happy
@@HerbScapes Thanks
Not unless they are crazy snails. 🤣😂 As long as they have a food supply they have no reason to leave.
damn i want one
Looks comfy, keep up the good vibes
Always! The vibes are always immaculate 🔥🔥
nice to get recommended another ultra cheap DIYer. love people like serpa, but had to unsub from green aqua when the main guy went on a rant about how much he hates viewers asking about price when he spent almost 800 USD on a "beginner friendly" nano tank. would this technically count as a walsted tank? whats the actual swimspace volume on a tank that small with a dirted substrate layer? looks like the substrate and hardscape take up over half of it
I thinks it's kind of my take on a walsted tank, I'm not an expert by any means on walsted tanks. I'm not sure the swim volume but I would only really recommend shrimp and snails for something this small. I wanted to do a build that anyone could do, the biggest thing I hear people say is that they don't have room for an aquarium so I wanted to show how small you could take it. I really appreciate you taking the time to give it a watch 🙏
This channel is a hidden gem!
Thank you for watching, there's a lot more to come 🙏
Your super underrated man
Thank you, I really appreciate that 🙏
is this the same type of shrimp ua-cam.com/video/J35hKa1sMec/v-deo.html
Looks great... new sub
There's more to come!!! Thanks so much
great video straight foward
Thank you so much
Hey just to let you know the audio seems a little messed up and only comes out of the left side of my headset
Oh man, thank you, I'll fix the problem and re upload tonight
Hey, just to let you know, I fixed the audio you can check it out here ua-cam.com/video/pPKeEXaTpuI/v-deo.html Thanks for letting me know about it!!
Sucks that the one tank has plants that are being stubborn and not growning.
It happens it's the lighting. The juncus Repens carpet was always sort of an experiment. It'll be better soon 🔥🔥
Nice!!
i;'d suggest adding shrimp and snails
I have some rams horn snails that are definitely going in
👍👍👍😎😎😎
I have no idea it was that involved. 😮 You really do a good job helping a simpleton like myself understand.
