Pool Pump Motor Replacement
Переглядів 3612 роки тому
A step by step instructional video on how to breakdown a Jandy FloPro pump and replace the motor. Replacing the motor instead of the whole pump saved me between $300-$500 on the pump only. Had I had a professional pool tech sell me a new pump and install it, I would have spent between $800-$1200 more than what i spent on just these parts. All parts were sourced from InyoPools.com. The total cos...

Thanks for the tips. I got everything put together replacing the motor and shaft seal. I was annoyed that I have a leak from the motor mounting plate which seems like that shaft seal didn’t work. The plate the motor mounts to only seals at the shaft from what I can tell. Also, I had a heck of a time removing the bolts for the motor to the mounting plate so I used anti seize to hopefully avoid. The motor lifespan of the century motors is bad, I got 4 year life out of my 2nd pump, after 8 years with my original Hayward. Thanks again for the info
This video is fantastic and the best one I've found yet. I just spent a few hours replacing my motor which I believe is the same model as this one. All the points you made are spot on. The 4 bolts attaching the motor to the pump housing gave me hell but I finally got them. That is definitely the worst part of this. Everything else is pretty straightforward. I did upgrade to a variable speed made by Century so I hope the lifespan makes it worth it. Also agree with Inyo being very helpful. Thanks again!
Thanks for making this video. It's given me more confidence to start tearing my Hayward apart now.
Awesome. Good luck!!! Let me know how it goes for you.
Who didnt you show how to take the collar off? That's the hardest part.
Yeah, how did you remove the bottom collar? I tried to twist.. didn't have success. Do I just yank it and it'll pop?
Sorry for the delay. I’m not a power UA-camr. I just used a 1” puddy knife. Find the seam on the bottom collar and wiggle it in. Then twist to pop it. Just be careful because it’s plastic. It will deform if you’re to rough on it.
Very useful. Thank you
Thank you for sharing, Direct and to the point!
Where is the video before showing how to loosen the panel?
How do you remove the top, trying to replace the jeep logo
Pause the video at :49 sec. Use a putty knife and wedge it between the chrome plastic of the top and the black leather and give it a twist. It just pops off. However you want to be mindful that the chrome plastic is soft. That putty knife can disfigure the cap. All this being said, I don't believe that will get you to the logo. I think the logo is a separate piece pressed into the top of the chrome piece. Good luck.
thanks for your quick video
Once I break the bottom colors loose will they snap back on if I decide to put that handle back on. Thanks
Worked like a charm!
Do you happen to know how to remove the center console lock from the JK armrest? I have a new Mopar leather armrest, but have no idea how to swap out the locks.
Thanks for showing how to remove the console. Do you know the bulb number for the gear shift lights? Mine has been out for quite some time but I had know idea how to remove the console. Thx!
Thank you for not making this a 10 min vid like the other guys
