Bottling the first batches

So, today, I bottled the Cran-Watermellon and Cran-Elderberry. Both finished a little over 13%. I'm looking forward to trying them out cold on the 4th!
One more week before bottling!

Here I am taking a final gravity reading and adding Potassium Sorbate and Campden tablets to stop fermentation. I will let it settle out one more week until I rack into bottles for consumption. Very excited. After redoing the math, it looks like my Alcohol % is going to be approximately 13%! Not bad! Next week will be the taste tests.
You are worth it. You matter.

Happy Father's Day (wine update)

Watermelon is roughly 25% Elderberry is roughly 26% Maybe. It shouldn't have gone that high with the yeast I used... More research needed. The fam got me the hoodie. It says, "I'm not the Step Father" "I'm the Father that Stepped Up"
I'm doing a thing (or 2)

This video is a fine tribute. I wasn't expecting this video to be about the loss of one that is dear to you and your family. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
@richardcox7926 I miss him. But I'm glad he's not in pain anymore. He was blind and deaf. And couldn't eat solid food. He was or first pet together.
Cold crash? I don't know that term. I will look it up. Thanks.
I fust checked my apple juice. Taste good. I don't know the alcohol content. I sampled it. I would say it's alcohol content is about 15 % .However it's only my guess. I should buy an alcohol measuring tool. Thanks for this series on wine making.
@richardcox7926 hydrometer. Nice to have. I'm glad it's going well. How's Terry doing? So "cold crashing" a wine, mead, or cider refers to the process of refrigerating your boozy drink with the intention of forcing all of the sediment, yeast, and bitter compounds to drop out of your wine and settle on the bottom of the container, after which you can separate the great wine from the gross sludge. (Copied from Google) it helps clear up the beverage faster.
You can strain it. I believe in takes along time for the wine to clear. Sediment will seems to take a long time to go to the bottom. Especially the way my parents made it. However, they made wine an old-fashioned way. In a stone crock. I need to check my wine. It's been about a week since i checked on it. I have been busy helping Terry. Thanks, Mitz.
Brain fog. Gun powder smell. Wild stuff.
I am so so sorry for your loss brother. May he rest in heavenly peace.
@@jeffjackson5331 thank you
@@MiscMitz you're welcome
Bummerino man🐸🍺🔪🔥
😥
I am sorry my friend.
Thanks, Oleg. I miss my little buddy.
Im so sorry this is so sad.
@@SDMountainMan thank you. He had a good long run. We knew it was getting close. He was both blind and deaf. And was on just soft food. The best buddy. I miss him.
Nice🐸🍺🔪🔥
Wow, that's insane. Looks pretty tho.
Crazy there's so much smoke the morning after.
How was it? Did you try it?
Pretty darn good. She thought it was pretty good too. But she is not a big wine person. Lol. More for me
@@MiscMitz fantastic!
@MiscMitz, i am definitely going to give it a try. 👍
Excellent my friend.
Nice set up man🐸🍺🔪🔥
Great job! 🍷
Well done brother...awesome skill
That’s how. Run a cycle of rotation. Should try grow some Concord grapes and run it from scratch 🐸🍺🔪🔥
Sweet🐸🍺🔪🔥
All very interesting to me. Thanks.
Cool stuff. 👍
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry for the sniffing. Just mowed the lawn.
Thanks for sharing your story my friend. God bless.
Incredibly painful to hear this and must be incredibly hard for you to share. "God don't make junk. I am loveable". Ty will. ♥
I am glad to have listened to this. I don't know what else to add. We do matter. We are human. I am 73. I have deep rooted struggles. From childhood. I have been following you for several years. I know you through our comments. You are supportive of me. These videos help me. Thanks again. 👍
Thank your Richard. I made this private because I listened to it, and I didn't like the audio. I may re-record it this weekend. Yes, we have all made mistakes. But those mistakes do not define us.
Sorry for the audio. AC was full blast. Upper 80s today. I may delete and redo this this weekend I had made private, but there is perfection in imperfection...
Stuff I made from apple juice was like 20 points stuff floored me
My parents would make wine with grapes we grew. They did it in an old crock. I have the crock. It was a long process. You can also make vinegar with the grapes. They would but a clean cloth over the top of the crock tie it on. I will have to look into the old country way of making wine. My grandfather made moonshine from an old still. It was a community still. He would use it, take in down and hand it off to another person. That was the story I remember my dad telling me. That was all before my time. Thanks, Will. I am looking forward to to the results. Brother. 😊
I'm excited if this works. We have black raspberries and white mulberries. Want to try that. But no berries yet
@MiscMitz I have some mulberries around my place. I could try. No grapes. I would have to buy grapes. I will try the bottled juices like you used. This will all be later down the road. Dealing with Terry's broken hip now. I have been staying with him the last 3 weeks. Last night was the first time I got to say home at my place. Many things have been on hold. Now that he can perform a lot of tasks on his own....while in a wheelchair, and managing his broken hip. He can walk with a walker if someone is behind him with his wheelchair as a spotter. He is strong. He is 85. Things change.
@@richardcox7926 it's pretty easy. Give it a try. I'll continue to pray for him. 🙏
Happy dads day will🐸🍺🔪🔥
Happy Father’s Day my friend! Thank you for stepping up to the plate! 💕💗💕
Sometimes that style takes much longer to ferment (for months). The wine kits on Amazon I can hammer out in 2 weeks. Happy Father's Day.
I was wondering that. But according to the measurements, there aren't any sugars left to ferment. And it stopped burping. Lol. I'll let it set another week and try it next weekend.
Oh, ur driving also. Cool my friend.
Yup. Much smaller than you. But that is the end goal.
@@MiscMitz yeah, get ur license, and then you will be on the road.
I didn’t know you started driving instead of working that junk yard 🐸🍺🔪🔥
Yeah. Same company. Now I deliver the parts. Lol
Time to chug😆🐸🍺🔪🔥
Beer bong it😆🐸🍺🔪🔥
Why not a short? Odd.
Great 👍. Interesting.. Thanks. I'm looking forward to an update .
Me too. Most updates may be in shorts. Gunna go take a look here in a second. Taking care of the animals first.
Great to see you. Hope the experiment is successful!
Hi Grace! Me too.
Good job and great hearing from you again! ❤
JAN! 👋 Sorry, I haven't been around much. I'm a delivery driver now, so I don't have as much time online anymore. And we moved to an older house that has become a fixer upper, apparently. Adulting sucks. I'm hoping for big changes soon though.
@@MiscMitz As long as you’re happy is all that matters! Great to hear from you! 💗
fuck yeah
I'm so excited.
Haiyooo 🐸🍺🔪🔥
🍻
Oops, had set to private.
I use those to make kimchi 🐸🍺🔪🔥
Nice!
🙏🏻 Hope things have improved for ya bro.
