Thanking of doing this with my Camaro ss
Thanks for the video brother. Just picked up a C6 and I've gotta do this. 1 of the downsides to a low mileage completely stock c6 😢😊
You're welcome!! Enjoy the car! They are fun!!
I’m going to do the same exact process for a oil pan gasket leak but switch what you did with the cradle bolts I’m going to take the rear completely off and leave the front cradle bolts attached
That would work nicely!! Good thinking my guy!!
still have my 69 Chevelle SS from my younger days. (I'm 56 now).. seeing the flames brings back the memories of my Chevelle and my 69 short bed fleet side custom 10 chevy truck that sported the flames.. daily drive my 2 white 86 Mustang GTs now but I look at my Chevelle sitting in the yard and I tell my wife of 40 years that I'm going to get the Chevelle back on the road, murder it out and flame it like the good ol' days.. she shakes her head and says "aren't you too old for that?... lol"... to which i reply.. "Shuddap woman and get back in the house and make me a SAMMICH".. lol
Hahaha best comment ever!!! Hope you get it on the road soon!!
Great video brother
Thanks!!
Badass little camaro... Hope your videos start to blow up. Maybe you can just build the camaro and keep running the chevelle swap with the theft recovery one!
Thanks! It's fun to rip around for sure. I'm in kinda limbo on the next move, but stay tuned to find out!!
The camero is junk. Rebuild the chevelle
Thanks Ryan for making the playlist.
It will never be a car to drive and enjoy. I would have rather seen a restoration
The SS Camaro is too nice to cut up. Find a drivetrain from a junk donor
It's a rebuilt title camaro with rear 1/4 panel damage. It's a nice donor.
There are a lot of unanswered questions here 1 drop cradle fine but don’t you have to unbolt the front engine mount to seperate it from the cradle??? Is the rack still connected to the column? Why a stand under the diff in vidio?
Yes 2 engine mount nuts are remove to push the engine up, and lower cradle down. Support stand on diff to mitigate car falling off lift. Rack stayed connected.
Don’t bang on the crank! You can break the timing sensor!
NEVER BANGVONBTHE CRANKBTOBDRIVECONVTHECBAKANCWR. IT OKAYS GELL ON THE THRUST BEARING. ALWAYS USE HB INSTALLER TOOL! He was doing ok till he did that hack!
You should keep the SS Camaro and just put a engine in the theft recovery
That’s the coolest thing I’ve seen anyone from Arlington make. Old man proud of it!
They are so much fun!!
Oh, snap! You been back to posting! How dare UA-cam not show me this greatness!!
Nobody brings these up on tdc?? What about the timing marks on the SFI DAMNERS?
Unless you're doing a cam swap at the same time then no need to worry about timing...
gud job 💯💯👏 boss man 👏
Thanks!!!
@TaylorParks87 I c there still some gud repairs guys left
06 C6 with 54K miles and it's time to replace the HB. Thanks so much for the vid. I was dreading it before, but now not so much...Ordered the Summit one with new bolt.
Nice!!! Make sure you change the front seal in the front cover as well. Good luck!!
I know that car very well. If that was my 72 I wouldn't be driving that id be tearing it down for the body swap day one. On my first get Dakota. I found a smashed up redeye. Then went looking for my perfect body. Got it for a thousand bucks only. I know. Cheep. Its not. Its perfect. And super fast. Now i have to find another one. This one has a vuilt 360. Not sure why was only 1000. I scored. Im still looking. Has to be a Dakota. Ive already had a hood made. Shaker. The motor fits just to tall. This bro is gonna be special. 70-72 are my favorite.
So what happened? Are you done? with set up.
Will finish soon. In the process of moving and moving the shop.
Hi sir help… The belt doesn’t move what should I do 😢?
Yo been think bout this for a long time now it's cool to see it beining done hope new u keep the videos coming till the end
I will definitely keep them coming!! I'm moving, and moving the shop as well so no videos for a bit till I get things situated.
Did you have to disconnect any brake lines or have to disconnect the steering rod bolt?? I wouldn't want to worry about bending any lines or messing up the steering clock spring. Thank you for any information you could give me.
I didn't have to disconnect brake lines. I honestly can't remember what I did with steering. I think it slid out enough for the k member to drop.
Just re watched the video. If you move the motor up, and let the k member hang on the back studs you don't have to disconnect any steering or brake lines.
@@TaylorParks87 Thank you very much for responding back, I'm getting ready to do this and I just wanted to make sure I didn't screw up anything! Thanks again!
By the way, for the ppl who come to read the comments. Its 6 bolts, not 4 on the front cradle lol i was confused why mine didnt lower like his.
Incorrect, there are only 4 studs and nuts that hold up the k member. There are 2 other nuts for motor mounts that you need to remove in order to drop k member.
What about the steering column? U didnt remove the bolt? Seems like mine has tension and scared to drop it all the way
You didnt show how u removed the fan lol im currently trying ur way. I have a BIG leak out the crank seal. Friend showed me a video of my car throwing smoke under while driving. It also throws alot of oil if i punch it
2 bolts up top and pull it out top.
What happened
Was on the river with the mini boat and this happened while helping a kid with his jug line.
@ oh. Ow
Google says its Mulsanne Blue for your car.
Thanks!!
Both rockers need to be even not one on top of the other
I know. I say this many times in the video. Next video is all about that.
Man. I love this👍💯
Thanks!!!
Seems like a very hard way to do this versus getting the frame from a modern panther platform Ford that are already 3 link and rack and pinion and shortening it to match the Chevelle wheelbase
Camaro has far superior suspension geometry than a crown vic bud. If I was to keep it full frame I'd just modify the stock chevelle frame with aftermarket suspension.
Hey man. Did you consider dropping subframe just a little bit and wedging it and then lifting the engine a bit? Magnuson recommends that to pin to the crank but not sure if I'll have enough room to get the pulley off (if I choose to replace)
I don't think you will have enough room that way.
YESSSSS!!!!! your never “done”with a muscle car build. You just paint them to stop working on it for a while. Building retro muscle looks on top of real muscle is what I’m all about. A real chevelle wont do 100mph through the Arizona night desert stretch to Vegas. I’m on second gen nova chevelle to gto or Camaro like yourself. I’m on board for all of it.
Hell yeah brother!!
Saved my ass! Thank you so much. Just got done installing a Powerbond on my '08. 🫶
I love mashups. This is going to be exciting!
You need a hard hat to protect what little brains you have left. I think you destroyed the chevelle 😢 you’re a mad scientist and are making a Frankenstein monster. And I like chevelle’s and horror movies so I will watch your videos and I will comment. Good luck
Haha all valid points! But I like to be different here at sParks FAB.
Looks wise cutting the camaro to match the chevelle will probably be easier, i would be concerned about loosing the engeinered streingth of that boxed rocker of the camaro, As it is the "chassis". Just my 2 cents
I'll end up plating the camaro rocker with some thicker stuff to bring back the strenght. Kinda following what b is for build did with his rocker hacking on the mustang.
2025 Chevelle 70/SS 454: $175k - $300k sParks Fab: hold my drink
Comment of the year!! Haha
Great job, Looking good 😊
Thanks man!
Been waiting to see this video great video and I think the first suggestion you made to slice up the Camaro rocker and then played. It makes the most sense so when the car is done, the exterior looks pretty stock if that makes sense.
Thats the way I'm going. Rebuild the camaro rocker to match chevelle rocker. Hopefully it works out well and looks good! Alot of these swaps you see the donor cars lower rocker under the rocker of the old vehicle. Looks horrible in my opinion.
@ yes I agree completely on that fact it looks like trash someone to do all that work but then get lazy when it comes to that singular part is pretty annoying to me. The good work great videos as always.
If it were me, that other camaro seems in to good of shape to cut up... I'd potentially flip it and buy one with more damage (cheaper)or put a driveline in the new camaro, tho you'd have to source or figure out the interior... love the build and history behind the chevelle, keep it up!
I have been contemplating all these things. Yes it's a decent camaro, but it does have rear quarter panel damage. If it didn't, 100% would flip it. But that damage alone sways me to continue with the plan. Unless a wrecked zl1 comes up!.
@TaylorParks87 cool! I also don't know if I has a clear title, many variables to consider... anyway mostly just commenting to give you more engagement, very cool project! Are you in any body swap groups on social media?
@@destin842 rebuilt title on it as well. I'm in some of the body swap groups. Some pretty cool swaps going on out there!
@destin842 thanks for engaging!! Appreciate it!!
how email for business ?
? What's up?
@@TaylorParks87 for business
Can confirm this is how I do. On jack stands. You can pry the subframe down and place sockets as holders and lift the engine with the intake manifold off. Impact gun on the crank bolt. Easy least.
Any other tips, doing mine tomorrow on the ground in the garage??
Needed this visual thank you!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful boxer.i have a German brindle boxer
Thanks!! He's the best!!
😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Not too shabby
So this would save some time on a cam swap as well 🤔
Absolutely!!
