International 100C Engine Reinstalled, Will it Start?
I put the finishing touches on the International Harvester 100C crawler loader before attempting the first engine start. Will it start?
I change the hydraulic filter, transmission filter, and torque converter temperature gauge. I top the machine off with Viscosity Ultraction in the transmission and the hydraulic system.
This is part X of a series where I bought an 1972 international 100C track loader for scrap price and make repairs. The machine was parked due to a broken flexplate between the flywheel and torque converter. All repairs have been made... So I thought...

International 100C Torque Converter and Seals Episode 7
Переглядів 341Місяць тому
I make some progress on the International Harvester 100C track loader. Installed new engine main seals, transmission input seal, and torque converter output seal. Do a valve adjustment, install the torque converter, and get the engine and torque converter prepped to reinstall into the crawler loader. This IH machine has been a work in progress for a year and is slowly coming together. This woul...
International 4120 Skid Loader Update Episode 3
Переглядів 494Місяць тому
After returning from my trip to Nebraska to get the International Harvester 4120 skid loader I get the machine functional, then order new tires and get the original wheels sand blasted and painted. Fix a few other things and take the 4120 for a test drive! The IH 4120 was the smallest of the "Hustler" series of skid loaders market by International Harvester AG dealers. They were built by Hydra-...
Building new engine mounts for International 100C Episode 6
Переглядів 1542 місяці тому
With new rear engine mounts for my International Harvester 100C crawler loader no longer available new I had to resort to building new mounts from scratch. The 52 year old rubber in the mount on my IH machine had deteriorated causing the rear of the engine and torque converter to sag and misalign the driveshaft. With no other options I decided to build new ones. The original part number 3136287...
International 4120 Skid Steer Update Episode 2
Переглядів 4012 місяці тому
After getting the International Harvester 4120 skid loader home from Nebraska I got it running and ensured all systems were working and gave it a hydraulic oil and filter change with fresh Viscosity Ultraction. After proving the machine was going to be ok I pulled the wheels and tires, ordered new tires and had the wheels media blasted and painted. Stay tuned for the next episode where I get it...
International 4500B Forklift Trip
Переглядів 2712 місяці тому
I make a trip to Buffalo Wyoming to pick up an International Harvester 4500B forklift I bought on an online auction. It was a long drive and took some extra efforts and hydraulic oil to get it loaded but I got it done and drove all the way back to Denver without working trailer brakes. After changing the trailer brake hydraulic module I was back on the road with working brakes! The drive home w...
International 4120 Skid Steer Trip to Nebraska Part 1
Переглядів 2563 місяці тому
I bought an International Harvester 4120 skid loader on a BigIron auction in Nebraska. Made a trip to a friend's place near Lincoln, NE to pick it up. Had a great steak with my friends at Round The Bend Steakhouse, home of the "Testicle Festival" as they are famous for their rocky mountain oysters. Along my journey home I stopped to visit other friends in Oklahoma and we tried to get the little...
International 280A Backhoe
Переглядів 6123 місяці тому
I go check out a friend's International Harvester 280A backhoe in Indiana. The IH 280 Series A backhoe was only built for a couple years and was the company's last new backhoe design. It had a lot of improvements over the earlier machines. The 280A used the International D358 diesel engine and a Clark 18000 powershift transmission and a Rockwell rear axle. This massive machine would have compet...
Steam Roller Walk Around
Переглядів 624 місяці тому
I make a stop and check out an old steam powered roller. I couldn't find a manufacturer name but it sits on display in Trinidad, CO. I suspect it was built in the 1920s or earlier due to its riveted construction and boiler styling. Gasoline powered rollers replaced these in the 1930s.
RMIHR 2024 Creede Colorado
Переглядів 5834 місяці тому
I take a trip to the 30th annual Rocky Mountain IH Rondevous in Creede, Colorado. This is a great show for International Harvester enthusiasts to come show off their trucks and other IH products. This show isn't just show and shine, there are events like trail trips, a wild game cookout, judging, awards, 4x4 games, and more! This year the show was held at the Underground Mining Museum in Creede...
Minneapolis Moline UDLX at Keystone Museum

While visiting the Keystone Museum in Colonial Heights, Virginia I stopped to film a beautifully restored Minneapolis Moline UDLX tractor. These tractors are very rare and highly sought after due to low production numbers. They were way ahead of their time. equipped with a cab, heater, horn, wipers, road gear, and more they were meant to be a farmers automobile and tractor all in one. the Keyst...
International TD-14 Walk Around
Переглядів 4825 місяців тому
In my travels in California I found this early International Harvester TD-14 sitting and I stop to check it out. Its an early IH TD-14 with an American Bosch injection pump that I am unfamiliar with unlike most with the big cast iron IH pumps. These engines start on gasoline and switch to diesel when warmed up for ease of starting. An interesting alternative to Caterpillar's pony engines. Altho...

Transmission pump is bad or seals are gone in the torque converter
You should have went through it and resealed before you put it back in
Darn sorry to hear that,I know you've worked hard on it.I have a TD-8 now with a locked motor and trying to figure out what to do.
Thanks! It was disappointing. But found the problem and parts are on order. Stay tuned!
That is not the ending we wanted!
Me neither! But found the problem and parts are on order. Stay tuned
I grew up in 70's running them. we had two one loader and one doser. Love them what a fine. One had backhoe on it. One had 4 in one bucket. Build a lot things from roads and house pads. Clean up lots to burn down houes. Dad build trailer to Haul them around on. I know about torque converter too. How save it getting torn up. 4 dollar part. They were our work horse.
It is not huff its H.O u g h
What a beaut!!
Looking good!
Very similar to the stand on machines sold today but way safer for the operator. Hydra-mac made pretty good machines.
The most accurate narrative I've heard the fate of payline division. Well done. My late Father was a large user International equipment here in South West Oz. Starting with the TD18A All series of TD20s He was the first in OZ to purchase aTD20E in OZ. Right through 25Bs Cs and 25Es. Even had a rare TD15C LGP. There is only a few left in the construction industry who remember their innovative designs and many industry firsts. The last of PH BROWN BULLDOZING. RIP DAD
Good job there, great to see someone keepin those old machines up and runnin.
Good trucks friend exitos For clásicos the Ecuador🇪🇨🛻🛻🇺🇸💯👍
My local IH dealer still has access to some new old stock parts for these old skid steers.
Lastly, if you are trying for a “restoration” there are skid steer junk yards all over the USA. All States Ag Parts is one.
The old IH and HydraMac bucket attachment was unique to the brand. I would swap out the entire plate for Bobtach or Dingo. Many aftermarket plates are available. Your unit may require welding for the conversion.
Easy to weld up cracks in mufflers.
Nice that you got it moving and steering. You could use a Walmart garden tractor battery for that tiny engine.
My machine is a 4130.
Check the actuator bars on the hydrostats. I am currently in the midst of rebuilding the “rear” hydrostat because the tapered shaft was broken off, then epoxy’d back on. I had to weld the shaft and machine a new keyway. Your actuator bars may be worn or like mine missing the woodruff keys. Hope this helps.
Day and night difference with the wheels and tires!..
I can't count all the different International heavy trucks, medium trucks, buses, pickups, agriculture tractors, industrial engines, backhoes, dozers, & loaders that I've owned in the past 50 years.. I still have most of them..🥃😎👌
That is a great repair!
Good job there, well done.
Does anyone know where we could find a engine oil dipstick for 510 international wheel loader , Has D268 engine
@@e.d.s.schroeder4 not specifically, but Machinery Trader has a list of machines that have been dismantled for parts by make and model. Looks like Schaefer Enterprises in Illinois has parted out a few, and Redding Equipment in Montana has dismantled one a couple years ago. My search by part number did not find any NOS.
Okay Thank You !!
Thank you again for making this video 🎉
This is very cool! I have only seen the 4120 in the repair manual. I have 2- HydraMac skid steers. An 8C (4130) and a 12C diesel (4140) I just got the driver side lift ram back from the doctor $350 it needed a new rod. The chrome had peeled off.
That's cool! How do you like the 8C and 12C? I am eyeing a 4140 now I may go get if its still available next month. There is a 4130 not far from it but its rough.
@@deserttrucktractor2514 Both are a work in progress. Have not worked either one yet but I am close.
That’s a vf 190 series I had 3 of those 1 vf190 1962 vf220 1966 and a vf 220 1965 I miss them all
Cool! 😎
Cool stuff!
Just saw your forum on red power, definitely neat finding all of this! My dad and I bought one last year, but it’s not hydrostatic. If I would’ve seen your forum sooner I could’ve gave you dimensions on the panels! Luckily ours are all there BUT I’m highly interested in the wiring kits you have as ours is a complete rats nest! Do you have a link or anything for them?
@@billybob7831 glad you found the forum thread! the company who made them is Porch Electric in Illinois, although they probably aren't listed on their website yet you will have to call. They make them to order. But there is a serial number cutoff so you will need to know if your 260A is an early or late production to get the correct harness ordered. www.porchelectric.com/
hope you restore it to its former glory
The B 61 that you actually got close to and commented on is a B67,which has several big differences to a B 61!!!
Always liked these machines. Where were these manufactured?
The "skid units" comprising of engine, transmission, axles, etc were built in Doncaster, UK then imported and finished into a forklift I believe at the Harlo facility in Michigan.
@@deserttrucktractor2514 cool!
That was really interesting!!..I love International/Dresser/Dressta equipment!!
Looking good. I hope you finished it.
Would you happen to have a part number for the snap ring removal tool? Deere says the tool doesn't come in the kit they sell...
@@joshscharf9031 I do not have the part number for the individual tool. But it was included with my kit, and mine was a Deere kit.
Thank you so much for making this vid. I just got a couple 1572's and my buddy recommended to do the same thing. Thank you. Great vid..
That things cool!
I remember when these were sold new. Ive seen these units far and few in between. I like these and the 3600A backhoes.
Next time you are near Lincoln if you want to come see our hough h12 collection you are more than welcome
@sawmillfarms I have heard of a Hough H12 collection in Nebraska but didn't know any details. I would love to check that out sometime!
old is always gold
Hello sir. I am also thinking about buying a 50’s Hough Model HH and wanted to reach out to get some advice. Do you possibly have a business email that I could reach you at? Thanks!
@@carlosborunda872 deserttruckandtractor@yahoo.com
Very clean unit!
That's about the nicest looking old IH backhoe I've ever seen.
I have a 260.. They look like they were carved out of a single block of steel.
@@bradjenkins932 I have a 260A as well. Been a good machine. Very well built.
What a great lookin machine for its vintage, pity that the rear jib is fixed in one position.
Que tipo marca de transmisión usaba este equipo?
@@michiganloader795 the transmission in these was built by International Harvester's Hough division. It's a 3 speed powershift transmission.
@@deserttrucktractor2514 ok. Entiendo. Pensé que era Allison. Supongo que no se consiguen repuestos. Me están vendiendo una, pero tengo el temor de no conseguir partes.
nice job , i worked three years restore the r5, one of 537 .
Great job Bob G!
This show is definitely on my bucket list. Very cool!
I’m sure there aren’t very many of those around anymore. Definitely a survivor!
