About me:
I do desk work during the day, but like to do anything that does not involve 4 walls after work.
About the plane:
I took 3150 hours over 4 and a half years building N5412K, a Vans Aircraft RV10, from the ground up. This project has combined a passion of hands on building along with a hobby of flying while incorporating risk and time management. It has been a labor of love, and I love it. Now that we are through Phase I we are really enjoying family cross country trips. Our original plan was to sell the RV10 when we completed it and purchase a SR22. Now having flown as many hours in the RV10 as a SR22 we like the RV10 better and are going to be keeping it!

RV10: IFR into KHEF RNAV 16L
After a wonderful 100th birthday party at 1N7 for Christie's grandfather (who was in the B-17 for WWII) we enjoyed soft pillowy clouds and a calm approach back into Virginia. We had a bit of an issue getting out of 1N7 as we could not get anyone on the phone or radio for a clearance, so we ended up departing VFR staying low and picking up our clearance in the air.

After a smooth night takeoff and a gentle ride through some pretty clouds we end up getting rerouted. Ballast (A german short haired pointer) has been flying with us since a pup. He has flown in the SR22 and the RV10 and does really well in the planes.
