I prefer the sparser nes versions. They give off a sense of danger and uncertainty. These new arrangements are too 'full' and intricate and don't fit the setting/situation.

I like this version, still having my original FFII SNES cart, but the emphasis on high, piercing pitches (lots of bright trumpet, clarinet, and piccolo) tire out my old ears pretty quickly. The Underworld theme isn't really amenable to a screechy clarinet and trumpet blasts...it's a track that is really understated and mellow in contrast to the more heroic overworld theme. The high-pitched trumpet blasting for an entire OST is why I don't like the FF5 OST as much as 4 and 6. Still, I do like what they did with what was, essentially, just some bloops and bleeps. I like listening to individual songs from this OST and going back to the original for extended listening.

I finally had the honor and privilege to attend the Distant Worlds Final Fantasy Orchestra in San Francisco, and it was phenomenal to hear some of these amazing pieces brought to life!

These Pixel Remasters were B+ remasters with S++ soundtracks.

It's nice to see FFV getting more love. Was it more light hearted and a bit campy? Sure but it was different, like a Saturday morning cartoon Final Fantasy.

Man, it really bugs me that in six albums, FF2 is only represented in the occasional medley and never has any of its own tracks for the Distant Worlds collaboration CDs. So much good music they’re just sleeping on. 😢

The Pixel Remaster versions of the Final Fantasy 1-6 OSTs are so amazing. That said, this isn't the complete FF1 PR OST which is comprised of 33 tracks. There's only 21 tracks in this video. The last 12 tracks are missing here😞

This soundtrack, too, seems to be a mixed bag... There are definitely some compositions that are improvements over the PlayStation/PSP versions, like "Run!" and "Castle Pandaemonium". Yet there are some that are definitely worse as well (like "Ancient Castle" and "Town Theme"). The renewed "Main Theme" also sounds weird; it's like something you might hear in a Final Fantasy concert but in the game itself, the B part sounds out of place. Oh, and it's a pity that the "Ending Theme" is completely absent from this video.

FFV's soundtrack overall has some of the most affecting music in the entire series to me. Lenna's Theme, Fate in Haze, My Home, Sweet Home and Nostalgia are some of the most heart-tugging songs in any game. A absolutely adore FFV and it's become my favorite in the series (I think).

I just finished this SNES masterpiece. This game was phenomenal from the beginning to the middle to the end. And the S-Tier soundtrack on display here is one of the many reasons why this game is as awesome as it is. This is the best Final Fantasy game I have ever played. And this is coming out of the mouth of someone who played Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth.

Call me slow, but until now i noticed Sabin's techniques are all based on Hokuto no Ken: His Pummel is Hokuto Hyakurersu Ken His Aura Bolt is Tenha Kassatsu And Bum Rush is Musou Tensei

I'm 50 years old. I've heard a lot. And I listen to a lot. And this particular remaster that we're listening to now is the best I've ever heard. Hands down

They ruined Mount Gulg's theme.

I'll admit, this rearranged soundtrack is pretty good overall. Though at first, hearing this soundtrack with a more conventional tuning felt weird. I don't believe the original was at A432, but it was definitely below A440.

Oh, man. The last time I played FF4 was back in the early 90s, and I *_still_* remember most of the soundtrack, to the point where I can actually hum or whistle along. One of the best damned game soundtracks of all time. Nobuo Uematsu is an unmitigated musical genius. Can you believe he's entirely self-taught? No formal musical education _at all._ Holy crap.

I think I'm the only one who didn't like the new arrangement of the musics in all the pixel collection. The magic effects too sadly,still imo the best experience ever with any FF is with the og ones.

FF V is my personally number 1 game in my life. The GMB until today over 40 yrs of my life is still amazing!!! Can still remember my childhood good gaming memories with all these best games! ❤

The Last Battle is my jam.

They ruined sublet shrine. Always interesting seeing different aspects of the songs get highlighted each time the soundtrack gets a redo. Some of the things that made that track for me in the psp version are no longer here.
