The subtle theramin in the Blackjack theme is INSPIRED.
Kids Runs Through the City gives me chills. I also wouldnt have minded a guitar on the melody, but recorder/flute? is fine too.
If FFIII is a Pokemon Type, this is water! Boundless Ocean, and the Nautilus is so good!
Let’s be honest, Pandaemonium straight up slaps. Just beat this a couple days ago. It’s not the best Nobuo OST but it deserves so much more love than it gets. There are a ton of bangers here.
Lifelong FF fan. Finally picked this up on steam. I knew they had upgraded the music but I didn’t know they used a real orchestra. Now I’m so stoked to play through all 6! This just totally made my entire day. It sounds amazing!
Kind of a weird first choice
Country of Troia is the song I can absolutely marry to
Love the battle theme arranged for wind quintet! The dialogue created between the oboe and the french horn and then the intertwined melodies of the flute and the bassoon are so cool! The clarinet doesn't fall behind with all those fast notes 🤯🤯
Forbidden land, Eureka is really a so nice music ! I am here mainly for this song ! Perfect sound !
A New Origin will forever be one of the greatest ending themes of any game.
They went HARD for the remix of Eureka. Thanks for uploading this

Goosebumps. Such an amazing soundtrack and such a great reorchestration.
10:32 I remember when Laurence R Harvey grew a beard he reminded me of these guys
35:48 😭😭😭😭
Thank you so much for this! They are very well done arrangements of the OG SNES tracks. Wayy better than the 3DS version
I agree with the majority of the comments here. But in gotta bring up one theme that wasn’t mentioned. Relm’s theme, though!
Could you upload tower of the magi separately?
If i recall my past couple of playthroughs took 6+ hours
This version of Narsche Mines is so good omg. Groovy sax and a mysterious little plucky string section? Beautiful. They did not have to go nearly this hard, and yet they did
Yes the mines is a standout remix for me too. Totally more like a remastered and it captures the essence of the place even better than the original!
The OST has its fair share of problems. The muted trumpet VST is used far too much, and the themes seem a bit forced and out of place.
Of the 6 Pixel Remasters, I felt 2, 4 and 6 probably had better songs overall in them but the 5 OST is probably the best one to listen all the way through while doing some work or whatever.
Thanks for theses. I have them on in the background while I am grading papers.

I like what they tried to do, but the mixed quality of the tracks (e.g., you get full orchestral awesomeness on one track, then some cheap synthesizer noise on Metamorphosis) really did this a disservice. Or the songs were "re-interpreted" and no longer fit the game section they're used in (the Narshe theme, in particular, now belongs in a 1980s softcore porn movie and Slam Shuffle is just stupid and synthy; it's like circus music now instead of being the soundtrack to a seedy town full of thieves and liars...yet another fail from Kataoka, who wasn't content with fucking up Narshe's theme). If they'd tighten this up and kick Kataoka out, this could be the best OST ever made in the history of video games.
The new overworld theme for this game was so good
I just beat the game last week and I gotta say, this is such a great game. It’s not my favorite that I have played but the customization made this game very much worth my while. And even though overall I found its predecessor to be a superior product over all, this game still kicked ass. And one thing it did better than FFIV was the soundtrack. Nobuo Uematsu even said this soundtrack was something he was satisfied with which is something I don’t think he said about the previous games’ soundtrack. The Main Theme, Cursed Lands, Sorrows Of Parting, The Day Will Come, Exdeath’s Theme, Castle Exdeath, Unknown Lands, and the Neo Exdeath theme are phenomenal tracks. They even play the Main Theme of the original Final Fantasy at the end of the game (which coincidentally is the main theme of Final Fantasy IV as well just not as heroic and epic sounding). But the cherry on top of this phenomenal track is none other than Battle On The Big Bridge. As a whole I give this game an 8/10, but the soundtrack is definitely a 10/10.
28:41 I stayed on the dragon for hours first time I played this game because I couldn't get enough of this music!
I feel like every RPG since this game has just been trying to recreate its boss theme. Unbelievable.
ドーモ、皇帝=サン、反乱軍(フリオニール)デス!
1:24:08 still think this is one of the most hype strings progression I heard in a music
Why is Ring of Bomb so good though
Nobuo Uematsu is a damn genius. Magitek Research Facility is one of the coolest compositions I've ever heard in a video game.
It's still funny that the mini-boss has more impact than boss A and boss B
ua-cam.com/video/63VB1X8SRqY/v-deo.html Best battle theme!
I love how FFIV and FFXII use the same prologue
Eternal Wind ❤❤❤❤
I prefer the sparser nes versions. They give off a sense of danger and uncertainty. These new arrangements are too 'full' and intricate and don't fit the setting/situation.
Tozus be sounding like a Super Mario RPG soundtrack now
Terra's theme no banjo, 0/5
I like this version, still having my original FFII SNES cart, but the emphasis on high, piercing pitches (lots of bright trumpet, clarinet, and piccolo) tire out my old ears pretty quickly. The Underworld theme isn't really amenable to a screechy clarinet and trumpet blasts...it's a track that is really understated and mellow in contrast to the more heroic overworld theme. The high-pitched trumpet blasting for an entire OST is why I don't like the FF5 OST as much as 4 and 6. Still, I do like what they did with what was, essentially, just some bloops and bleeps. I like listening to individual songs from this OST and going back to the original for extended listening.
I finally had the honor and privilege to attend the Distant Worlds Final Fantasy Orchestra in San Francisco, and it was phenomenal to hear some of these amazing pieces brought to life!
These Pixel Remasters were B+ remasters with S++ soundtracks.
It's nice to see FFV getting more love. Was it more light hearted and a bit campy? Sure but it was different, like a Saturday morning cartoon Final Fantasy.
Got chills from The Boundless Ocean... This is the best version of it, even topping the FF Piano Opera arrangement

Zozo is absolutely banging 😂
Thanks!
Man, it really bugs me that in six albums, FF2 is only represented in the occasional medley and never has any of its own tracks for the Distant Worlds collaboration CDs. So much good music they’re just sleeping on. 😢
