Adventures into the wilderness and beyond (or below)
Toolangi State Forest in a new Ford Ranger
I had an afternoon to kill in the Healesville area so I took Offroad Animal's new 2023 model Ford Ranger up to Toolangi State Forest to explore.
There'd been a lot of rain in the previous days so the Murrundindi River was really flowing over the cascades. The tracks were a little slushy but the only real 4WDing I did was the 350m track up to Yea Rock 😁

Adelaide to Melbourne in a Jimny - Part 2: Beachport, The Grampians and Mount Cole + bad weather.
Переглядів 7 тис.2 роки тому
Waking up at dawn, beside a small lake near Beachport, I caught the sunrise, had breakfast, then packed up my tent into the Jimny and headed out into the dunes and beaches of Beachport Conservation Park. The sand was cold and a little damp, which made it a little easier for Jimny to climb some descent sized dunes. After a couple of hours of having the time of my life buzzing around in the sand ...

In this video, I pick up the Offroad Animal Jimny from Fit My 4WD in Adelaide, where it had been used as the centre piece of their stand at the 4WD and Adventure Show the week earlier. I flew in on 28th October for my reunion with Jimny, carrying a bag packed with a hiking tent, sleeping bag, lightweight mattress and Trangia cooking stove. I grabbed a few extra camping items at the nearby Anaco...

Continuing on from the last video, where we made our way over snow covered tracks from Howqua Hills to the top of the Zeka Spur Track at Howitt Plains, we head down into the Wonnangatta Valley. Making camp in a picturesque forest of 150 year old trees, with fallen autumn leaves covering the ground, we got a fire going, played a few games, then made dinner and settled in for the night, as the ra...

Craig's Hut to Lake Cobbler, Dandongadale Falls and Paradise Falls
Переглядів 6593 роки тому
In the third and final episode of the long day trip to the Victorian high country snow, we finally get through the traffic jam at Craig's Hut and get on our way to see Lake Cobbler, Dandongadale Falls and Paradise Falls and unwind a bit from the slightly stressful attempt at the Mt Stirling summit on fresh snow - If you missed that one, go check it out at: ua-cam.com/video/CZYrvFjI1jM/v-deo.html
Sketchy 4WD trip to Mt Stirling Summit in the snow
Переглядів 6923 роки тому
After checking out Craig's Hut (see ua-cam.com/video/7uj2b7EP9J8/v-deo.html), we make an attempt at the summit of Mt Stirling, but things get a bit sketchy as we drive on virgin snow, and for me on all-terrain tyres, struggle to maintain grip and come across a few butt-clenching moments (so there's some sweary bits that I've blanked out). Thanks for watching. I'd be rapt if you Liked and Subscr...

Four mates (and poor Tara) head out on day trip to Craig's Hut with the hope of seeing some snow. We get exactly what we wanted and end up having an absolute blast driving the snowy tracks (with some sketchy moments). Thanks for watching. Craigs Hut and Mt Stirling summit with some snow.

Towards the end of May, just after the first COVID-19 lockdown in Victoria, my mate Craig from T, Me & My 4WD suggested a day trip to Craig's Hut and Mt Stirling. Of course I replied, HELL YEAH! There had been some snow falls a couple of weeks earlier so a bit of snow was still about up on the summit. A lot of people had the same idea so the tracks were getting pretty slushy, but that just adde...

how are the muddies on road ???
Sorry for the late reply. The muddies are better on tarmac than the rubbish standard tyres
H There, what size tyres do you have fitted on your Jimny?
But ottoways I’m heading there next
I totally recommend the area but it gets a lot of rain so be prepared for mud.
You have a winch why not hit that track?
It was getting dark and the mozzies were in plague proportions. Not a place I wanted to be stuck in.
А грязь то где Друг?? Оф роуд Где??
Wow wow 🏆💯💯💯🏅
Great video, amazing place, love the modifications. What are the section of the tyres?
Tyres are BF Goodrich M/T 235 75 R15, Wheels are from Dirty Life.
Can u tell me what is the tyre size and ratio
Tyres are BF Goodrich M/T 235 75 R15, Wheels are from Dirty Life.
Buddy please share the wheel and tyre specifications. Beautiful beast.
Dirty Life 15 inch rims with BF Goodrich KM3 MT 235 75 R15
Do you have to carry chains in May?
I don't know if you legally have to carry chains outside of the ski season
Is this in Montreal Canada
No, Australia 🇦🇺
Feeling soo relaxed while watching this... You shows a peaceful place ...❤️🔥, and I love Jimny's bonnet matte twin strips❤️🔥... Those almost remembering Mr.Bean's Mini 😍😍😍..luv frm IND❤️
Thank you. I would love to see Mr Bean in a Jimny 😁
Quand la nature t’offre un très beau circuit
Ryobi make a decent little battery powered chainsaw. Their tyre inflator has a built in pressure gauge and doubles as a high flow air bed inflator (I keep one in my truck all the time). They both use the same battery. Might be an option for you.
That's a good idea to have both. I already have Ryobi batteries for other tools. Thanks mate.
@@stevjosco.adventures spring for the HP model, you won't be disappointed.
Such cool cars!
Very cool. And fun to take offroading
Зачем две траурние ленточки на капоте?
Circle Oz!! Wished I was down under again. My big adventure there was a drive up from Sydney to Brisbane.
Which do you prefer the ranger or the jimny?
I'd have to say the Ranger, based on comfort. However, the Jimny is fun and zippy to get around in, and surprisingly good offroad.
I really enjoyed watch this whole episode. especially your jimny doing wonders.
Thank you. I really appreciate you taking your time to watch my videos. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Я вибачаюсь, зачем две траурние ленточки на джимни? Україна.
What is the tyre size and the Rim size
BF Goodrich MT 235 75 R15
Bumper makes Jimny look like a tank, cool.
Thanks. It's from Offroad Animal offroadanimal.com.au/predator-bull-bar-suzuki-jimny-jb74-2018-to-current/
you need a Ozito 18v chainsaw, its awesome
I think I'll get a Ryobi. I've already have the batteries
The Swarm was a lot of fun. I love the Otways, and not too far away for me living in Warrnambool. Always keen to catch up with other Jimny owners if your ever out that way again. Great little vid!
Yeah, it was a fun day. I hadn't explored the Otways much before. I plan to get back there this year. The Offroad Animal Jimny has just been sold this week, so I won't be doing any more Jimny videos (and will probably lose 90% of my new subscribers 😄)
How’s the fuel consumption when on the road? Do the big tyres make that much of a difference? Is your total range affected too much?
It's hard for me to say. The big tyres were put on not long after we bought the Jimny. I'd say they would affect fuel economy a little.
Woaaa what a legend all grip jimny...my dream car🤟🤟🤟...i love ur video dude..its epic
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it!!
Great stuff. Jimmy is not a small boy at all. Dynamite comes in small packages
Thank you. It's just the right size :D
Buy your self a silky saw there an arborist / survivalist saw. It will make light work of these trees it also small and compact requires no fuel except the user
I've just ordered a Silky Gomboy 270mm
3:37 I think its doable, comon yo have a jimny its the best offroader in the world. He can do it. 😍😍🥰 When you dont go to the limit you will never know whhats your car can make.
I agree. I do wish I had gone down that muddy track.
@@stevjosco.adventures Yes your right, but a little bit I can understand your bad feelings, but instead of that you have a winch.
@pyrojunkie 04 It was also the thousands of mosquitoes I was worried about.
@@stevjosco.adventures 🤣🤣
Bow saw and a couple of spare blades for those odd bit of trees. Or use the winch and reverse backwards, you should get traction Cheers have a great day
Or a silky saw 👍
Зачем на капоте две траурние ленточки.
What tyre size are you running?
BF Goodrich M/T 235 75 R15, Wheels are from Dirty Life.
Get yourself a bowsaw for the Jimny. Very light and some of them fold away. Better than an axe for fallen trees and cheaper lighter than a chainsaw.
I need to get a good saw. I think the Silky Gomboy looks good. Scotty Goes Walkabout receommends this one.
@@stevjosco.adventures yea I had one of those, very good.
Would recommend to switch the position of antenna at the back .. will look more imposing ❤
Hey mate! let me know when you come up to Brisbane!
Great watch. Think you f9r scenic toute
Thank you 😁
Today 5 door Jimny has been launched at auto expo in India.
I saw that. Pity they're not putting a more powerful engine in it to carry the extra weight.
@@stevjosco.adventures even automatic gear box needs an upgrade to 6 speed.
@@stevjosco.adventures its hardly an extra 100 kilos, no point in putting a bigger engine fir a small increase in weight
@@deepankar94 I think it the current 3-door needs a bigger engine 😀
Good job! Great vid, nice driving and most importantly… you chose the best colour Jimny.
Thanks mate. We didn't love the colour at first but now it's got all the gear and artwork on it. we reckon it looks very cool.
Oh you got me. I was like - "wow nu jimny is pretty fast what? xD"
Hahaha. If you use your imagination, it is 😁
A safe speed for the Jimny😂. It’s not just me then.
You can add a turbo and make a Jimny go faster, but you've still gotta take the bends slow... or end up on your roof 😁
@12:54 first time I hear another jimny fart
I promise it was the car 😽
Is it possible to fit an inch bigger All terrain tyres wrapped around standard rims?
Yes. That's what we did
@@stevjosco.adventures tha standard tyre is 195/80R15, so what would be the size of 1inch bigger tyre?
@laloolhouvum1634 Hey there. Sorry I misread your question. We didn't use the standard rims. Ours are Dirty Life. Tyres are BF GOODRICH M/T 235/75R15
@@stevjosco.adventures what the offset of the new rims?
@@laloolhouvum1634 6mm I think
Mate, out 10 how many star would you rate a stock jimny as a daily driver?
Stock Jimny for a daily is like a 5/6 for me. And I love Jimnies. Adore them. But the jump in quality when you start modding, is amazing
@@DdraigGoch84 how's the standard headlights? Does it comes with led headlights in all the variants?
I totally agree.
@@laloolhouvum1634 Jesus I don’t remember I’ve only rented one in Central Asia and it was a 2014 (?) model
The unstoppable jimny !! Cheers amigo. From Baja California Mexico!! Very similar weather, sand dunes, beach!!
Mate I definitely think it’s time to buy your self a chainsaw but problem is the forestry might want to give you a job clearing trees for them lol
I'm happy to take their money 😁
@@stevjosco.adventures just buy a pull saw (e.g. a silky saw). They are relatively cheap, light, don’t need fuel, and you’d be amazed on how much quicker they can cut through a tree when compared to a hatchet (or axe). Just make sure you buy a longer one if you’re wanting to cut through trees, like the Katanaboy.
it is very nice that you have come Decently together as Suzuki Jimny lovers. you could have placed the antenna in a different place. nevertheless, everything is very beautiful.
Good car good trip on sands
first like!!! :)
Nice vid mate, Lots of snow for this weeekend in howqua hills ?? Would u know
There's snow forecast this Friday (29/7/22) down to 800m. So there's a good chance.
Great video Steve, almost feel like I’m back there!!!
Thanks Craig. I wish we were :)
