Can You Use The Same K Cup Twice? [Full Experiment]
Переглядів 16 тис.4 роки тому
I was skeptical when I first heard someone trying to use a single k cup pod to brew to cups of coffee. I wanted to put it to the test though. I gave it every opportunity to succeed. I used a dark roast, the smallest setting on the Keurig, and I shook the ground loose between brews. The result was… Well, it tasted like a bold cup of tea. I wouldn’t recommend doing it as a daily habit but if you’...

Your Keurig is Brewing Watered Down Coffee [HOW TO FIX IT]
Переглядів 149 тис.4 роки тому
The Golden Ratio of coffee grounds to water is 1:15. That’s 1gram to 15 ml of water. The average k cup holds 10grams of coffee. Using the ideal ratio, that means we could only brew a 6oz drink (lowest setting on the Keurig) before our drink becomes watered down. Some ways around this include: - Brew two 6 oz drinks for a bigger drink - Use a Keurig 2.0 with the large k carafe pods - Use a diffe...

when does the pressing part take place?
I enjoy this coffee
the way to fix it is to go french press and then you control the whole process and don't release PFAS into your coffee, bonus
No offense, but you look like John Wayne Gacy version 2.0
Great video, and you just about did his hair as well!😂
I's the closest to the Espresso in Italy that I can find..at first when I tried it I thought it tastes too good to be true ! Lol... I use it in an Espresso machine.
I have the Keurig K-Latte. Not sure if they still make it, but it has a flip down base on the side for a milk-frother and a espresso shot option. I only use the espresso shot option, and sometimes I'll do the shot twice in a single K-cup. I don't think the difference is that bad especially when combined with foamed milk. One note on the K-Late: the frother on mine wore out after about a 1.5 years, and I bought a Kitchen-Aide dedicated frother that can do 5 different setting including cold foam. Much better, but it doesn't fit on the base of the K-Latte :(
i'm fairly new to using Keurig so I was curious I've come across the Keurig with the cup icon or sizes such as mug saucer, etc. what button can I push to fill a small Styrofoam cup?
I cant stand 100% Arabica blends. Too sour not enough kick. The robusta beans really round it out snd give it the extra kick i look for in coffee. Cafe Bustelo is underpriced for what it is.
So curious to know what you have been doing for the last 3 years between videos. Also, what brought you back?
By letting it settle and carefully pouring, you got no sludge in the first cup. In my experience with traditional French press technique, you get the most mud in the last cup. Did you get 2 clear cups out of your 2 cup batch?
I used to use a drip coffee maker, and used the darkest roast I could get, and filled the basket as full as it could get. My son bought us a Keurig Slim coffee maker, and I knew it would be watered down. The settings on it are 8, 10, and 12. I use the 8 and do it twice. Still watered down, but I use Starbucks French roast, so that helps, but still watered down.
i’ve been looking for this, thanks
I used a Keurig 1.0 for years. Gave it up because I was so sick of weak coffee. I especially liked your section about the 'Coffee Golden Rule' because I 3 years ago bought a 4 Cup Mr. Coffee: It's quick, simple, strong coffee and MUCH cheaper than pods. I occasionally also make pour-over coffee or old fashioned percolator, both excellent. Thanks and I like your soft spoken demeanor! 🎉
I'm thinking of adding this to my coffe van in Portugal, I'm planning to sell lattes and Ice/icecream coffes but this will be for the brave ones
I love a dark, bold coffee. The kind that thunks you in the face when you take that first sip. (much like your reaction HAHA) My dad travels to Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, etc. pretty regularly throughout the year. He's been doing this since I was born in the 70s. (he's a pastor/missionary) He brings me the BEST coffees and I love them dark and bold, a little of that bean oil rising to the top after the brew. YUM. Indonesian is one of my favorites, but the beans that grow at the base of the volcanos in Guatemala are the best. The volcanic ash in the soil makes those beans next level. I know my coffees and I know my dark roasts. So when I tell you that when I'm out of coffee from far away places, I prefer Cafe Bustelo, take it to heart. The Cuban dark roast is wonderful, and you're right, you can't beat that price for that flavor! Great review (and I LOVE how normal and unpretentious you are. It's a rare thing to find on social media these days)
Wallenford Jamaican Blue is FANTASTIC!!!!
At least buy some distilled or purified water and try that. That will work towards perfection.. The tap water has chlorine, paint, feminine napkins, and pharmaceuticals that all go through city filtration.
I drink my Bustelo espresso every morning , one of the best taste .
Good points! I always knew that I watered down my coffee using my Keurig because I own a variety of devices to make coffee. Nothing beats the old fashioned percolator on the stove top. I like to use the reusable type with Maxwell House coffee. You can buy a huge can for under 8 to 10 dollars in Canada. So now that I know about the coffee ratio that you pointed out, I can fill two reusable pods and make a 12 oz coffee. Good video by the way! Are you Canadian or American?
Fix it by not buying Keurig junk.
“I don’t have a proper grinder - this is more for spices.” 😐
Pour the entire carafe
Thanks for that idea, I'm going to try it 👍🏾
29 Dec 2024 That's a great idea! I am getting things ready for winter which brings with it power outages, and this was the best idea I've seen. Thank you!
The cup is an important part of the tasting experience. A cup with a curved lip is the best. A glass jar with screw top edges is probably the worst idea for maximizing the enjoyment of drinking a good cup of coffee.
I always use the same pod and same amount of water but it's now just watered down, could it need cleaned
The white stuff is Jamaican spooge
Your content is fantastic! I noticed your channel has room to grow, and I can help optimize it for better reach. SEO is key to making videos go viral, and I’d love to assist.
While I appreciate the grind at home, i wouldn't judge a coffee recipe/technique until I could say my other variables were controlled for. If you enjoy the putcome you're getting, that's great, but you'd get a lot better results with a good grinder and better water regardless of technique. Just my humble opinion.
Try Dollar Tree in the states. I've seen it at my local Dollar Tree. In talking with someone who makes espresso regularly, t hey we're of the opinion Cafe Bustello mediocre. I have not prepared it.before so I'm neutral. What is good.is is espresso grind with the robust and Arabica so it's espresso grind as far.ad.I know. Hope this helps. Thank you!
Made mine with your first method, worked a treat and poured in seconds. Thanks for the tips bro! Great idea for camping.
You didn't really follow the technique though. First of all, how do you make coffee videos and not own a coffee grinder? That's absurd. Your grind was way too coarse--it should have been a much more consistent medium-fine grind. Secondly, the whole thing with this technique seems to be not disturbing the grounds too much. So after steeping, you merely stir the crust (not the whole thing) slightly and then remove the larger pieces (of which there shouldn't be as many as you had).
Again, like I commented on James Hoffman's video: WHY would you use a kitchen scale to measure coffee, when you can use a pre-measured SCOOP (2g, I believe) and COUNT how many scoops of beans you put into the grinder? Obviously, this will also be VERY CONSISTENT each time. Why make it harder, is the question.
I then pour it through a rinsed coffee filter [H2O2 bleached] + cone to strip the oils to keep LDL CHL score lower. It smooths it out more, and any trace fines get filtered out too. Baratza Encore grinder, setting 18, 450:27g water/coffee to split (for 2) for that first coffee of the day. Frieling 500mL brushed stainless press.
Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA I have been doing this for many years. Starbucks French roast pod, 1st at 12 Oz. 2nd at 10 oz, no shaking just the 2 cycles into the cup - add cream & sugar - perfect for my 24 Oz Camelback mug. ✌️& ❤️
Mix them
Great review
Yeah if you're buying K-Cups you need to look at the net content on the box I usually get them between the 11.5 to 12.5 grams( I have verified that that is actually what's in them as well) also I'm sure you know by now but that is probably the worst reusable cup you could have bought the original Universal and the Now new Universal reusable K-Cup can easily hold 15 G of coffee😊 at the 6 oz of water setting. they do have the travel size K-Cups that usually hold 15 to 17 G but again this would only be good in my opinion for eight oz of water
ACTUAL VIDEO STARTS AT 2:50, UNNECESSARILY DRAGGED VIDEO AND CHATTERBOX, UNSUBSCRIBED.
I’ve tried the instant powder one and I didn’t like (5 years ago ) I need to try it and make it in my expresso machine . I just bought and the cafe la llave , it’s pretty Dawm good 😊! And for the price 10/10 !
This sucks seriously wasted time
Ahhh, thanks :)
your video is far too short, but very informative. maybe another 10 minutes
😭😭
Facts
Mix both together and it's not bad
Was watching up until I saw the grinder. WTF! It's like buying a Ferrari and taking it banger racing. Or buying putting rare truffles on top of beans and toast. Dude what are you doing.
Because when it comes to food and drinks. Japan appreciates quality even more than the French.
I'm fine with 6oz, I don't want to feel bloated, as I would like to have a second cup little later.
I use espresso in my keurig with a filter thing.
Awesome, welcome to the club!
I don't know why but I can fit 6 table spoons in it, I like a little bit of milk and sugar in it, I drink my French roast black ☕
I've been using a mason jar instead of a French press for a little while just because I wanted to mix it up. I do grind mine fairly coarse and let it sit for quite a while, but basically the same method. It could be a good option even if you do have other coffee equipment, especially if you start with good coffee and a good grinder.
