Ball spam psyker with smite, path to scriers gaze and end in warp charge tree it looks like (smite trash for empowered void charge keystone). Very normal meta psyker build abusing peril reduction on crit and crit hits at high peril, toughness on warp damage etc

@@matthewdeklerk3457 Minus the warp charge and peril reduction bit, yeah. I often disregard keystones in my builds these days. They're good for damage but I often feel like the points to reach them are better spent at the top of the tree to boost your chances of survivability. I only take Smite because of its occasional defensive utility and the fact that it allows me to reach both Wildfire and Malefic Momentum, I don't use it offensively. Even with Scryer's Gaze I use it more for the lingering peril immunity than anything else. Though it's tough to condition myself not to go nuts during the 10sec of free attacks lol, you can see how (esp near the end) i'm spamming attacks almost for no reason just because I can haha

@Ginfidel smite is both the best and most boring thing in the game. Carries the hell out of all encounters but it's literallt a "let everyone else have fun while you do nothing, one enemy will sneak through the stun wave and hit you for 59% of your toughness" button. I like the support playstyle sometimes but I wish an empowered keystone would change it to a cool down one shot stun or something. Yeah man scriers gaze is so good. Personally I always go Void charges because the extra shout comes in super handy exactly when you need it, but if it's damage and carrying you want peril crit psyker is literally zealot lite

As long as you're maximizing its potential, absolutely. Wildfire is pretty much mandatory, so if you want to go hard wish Soulblaze you're pretty much locked into either taking Brain Burst or Smite in order to reach it on the talent tree. Beyond that, you have to use a couple of methods that aren't very well-explained in order to supercharge the damage output. Your weapon perks are important in that regard. Whichever you have equipped, melee or ranged, if it has one of those +25% Damage to Armor Type (i.e. Unarmored, Flak, etc) that will apply to all of your active Soulblaze stacks while the weapon is equipped. Likewise there are certain melee weapon blessing buffs that also apply to Soulblaze while active. In my personal experience there is nothing that can possibly top Slaughterer (+8% strength on kill -> 5 stacks -> +40%) and Uncanny Strike (+24% rending on weak spot hit -> 5 stacks -> 120% rending) In one of my latest vids I made a Super Saiyan 3 meme out of this exact phenomenon because it makes my soulblaze so powerful that a whole swarm of Ragers, Crushers, and Maulers were melting away into dust, because I had loaded them up with Soulblaze, and I was just whacking them with light melee attacks to keep my Slaughterer/Uncanny stacks going while they burned Tl;dr: Soulblaze takes some finesse but its incredibly rewarding when done right

@@krampus9361 its a pretty decent support tool, it has stagger power like the relic but with no cooldown. On higher difficulties its the psyker equivalent to stealth for reviving other players.

@@swankmank Assail and Smite serve almost completely opposite purposes. Assail is almost entirely offensive with a small amount of defensive utility and Smite is almost entirely defensive with a small amount of offensive utility. If your goal is just pure damage, sure, Assail will often give you bigger Blitz damage numbers than Smite, but unfortunately, Assail's placement on the talent tree forces you to discard both Wildfire and Psykinetic's Aura, the former being the most powerful force multiplier for Soulblaze and the latter being single the most useful thing a Psyker can have (for both themselves and their teammates in coherency) if they're going to be killing Specialists and Elites all over the place. Consequently most Assail builds have to completely neglect Soulblaze and focus on single-target damage which in my opinion is not playing to the strengths of the Psyker. Honestly I wish the post-Blitz branches of the Psyker talent tree were horizontally flattened like the post-Aura and post-Ability branches. That would eliminate the problem of being forced to neglect Soulblaze for the sake of Assail. At that point I would almost certainly prefer Assail over Smite because speed-tossing three or four pokesticks in the middle of a melee rush would much more efficiently maintain >80% peril with minimal interruption, and as an added bonus it would staggered multiple backline targets outside melee range. That said, Smite can still do a few unique things that nothing else in the game can do. It goes right through walls and floors and jumps to nearby targets, so you can stave off entire swarms that are still on a floor above or below you. And one of my favorite use cases is preemptively screening those stupid poxbursters who spawn close by on the other side of a door. It locks them in place as soon as the door opens and detonates them after a couple seconds, so they never get a chance to leap out at you.

Jesper Kyd's OST is an industrial hype machine, he's half the reason this game is so lovable for me I've been thinking about posting a video about my various builds but haven't actually finalized what I like best yet. Since the latest big rework, I'm torn between Surge staff and Voidstrike staff. Surge has such amazing singletarget damage and can melt through things, but Voidstrike finally got T4 Blazing Spirit and when coupled with Surge every crit is like a miniature Venting Shriek in terms of how much soulblaze it can toss around (as long as it impacts a hard target or terrain, still requires some aiming finesse)

I can't post links but it's basically bb/cooldown/vent with all soulblaze talents and weaps are voidstrike with surge/crit and illisi with slaughterer/executioner

They both serve a slightly different niche.

Darktide is basically Left 4 Dead on steroids, it's really good. SM2 is an entirely different beast and just as good.
