For the past year I have been building this model of what many believe to be the most beautiful castle ever built in Ireland, Kingston Castle Mitchelstown, County Cork, Ireland. Darren D'Arcy, February, 2015.

Well done Darren.
So sad to think that such a magnificent piece of architecture was looted and burned in 1922. The attention to detail in this model is exceptional, and I say that as someone who knows more about the history of Mitchelstown Castle and the Earls of Kingston than anyone. It's loss to this nation has been immense. A judge in the High Court in 1927 described it as 'a wanton act of destruction' - there was no military purpose to it. Your recreation of the castle in model form is a credit to your talent and dedication. I've had the coats of arms from the castle since 1995. If anyone wants to have a look at them they're welcome, (by appointment).
